My number is a cell....I see they've used this and another number 843-619-7688 for this scam.

received call from this # with no answer. Was thinking this is a telemarker just calling to make sure you answer then is selling my number to the other calls I get that I don't want! the area codes are all different and some of the same outfit has used different #'s. I did answer and laid the phone down for awhile, does that do any good? May tie thier phone up awhile?

These folks are getting slicker, now they called from a private number, can't even put them on a no call list.
Ended call as soon as I knew they wanted my CC number.

Per searchbug.com, this call is from a landline (Bandwidth.com Clec, Llc) from the Charleston, SC  area. I don't know anyone from this area, and they never leave a message, so I doubt they have legitimate business with me.

If you are on Sprint, log into your acct online and go to your Preferences tab to block their number.

I also want to mention that I've had this phone number for almost a decade and NEVER got so many telemarketing calls/texts in my life... until my mortgage was sold from Bank of America to SETERUS. After they assumed my loan, I began to get bombarded with calls.

Got a call on Feb 18 for this number.  A note on Unwanted Calls.  Our world is changing. Sadly - The 'Do Not Call' list only works with Legitimate Telemarketers but unfortunately does not apply to: Surveys, Charities and of course, Criminals don't follow any laws. These Criminals have various kinds of ploys.  Some hide behind Surveys and Charities and of course the two big ones are Phony Debt Collectors and Low Interest offers.The only way to avoid these calls is DO NOT EVER RESPOND because if you do respond you will not only continue to be harassed by the same caller but your number will be sold to other 'Harassers' now that they know you are a live Human Being with a real phone number.  Also the Criminals/Shysters only use a number for a short period and then change it to avoid being caught.  Another sad note is that even if you do respond to a legitimate Survey or Charity - you will be placed on a 'Sucker List' and your number will be passed To & Fro for all to exploit you, including the criminals.  I also never respond to any political calls anymore, because I don't want to give any politician the knowledge of my concerns just so He/She can LIE TO ME in the future by telling me 'What I want to hear', because - Honest Politicians already 'know' the Needs and Concerns of The People that He/She is representing.  Again, our world has changed and responding to any of these callers only places us at risk for 'Who knows what?" At this time in history I have not discovered a way to 'AVOID' ALL HARASSMENT and so far the only way to avoid ongoing harassment is -Caller ID- and/or a phone that can 'Block' callers who will not stop.  Some of these phones also have a Programming Feature that will BLOCK Calls which do not have a number like 'Out Of Area' or 'Private Caller" and is well worth the Investment.  We can no longer 'Trust' ANYONE "Who we don't know' that is calling us.

Got call on my cell phone.  Did not answer.  No name.  Irritating!!!!!!!

I received a call from this number on Saturday. I missed the call and no message was left, so I have no company name to assign to the call. There has to be something that can be done about this!

I had my air horn ready,  I actualy got to a live person and hit the air horn.

Left no message but these obvious telemarketing calls are getting old.

This was the second call received on my cell. The first one claimed to have "carefully selected" me for a survey, but I hung up. This time I didn't even bother to answer. Apparently, surveys are not on the Do Not Call list.

I received a call on my cell yesterday at 1:55 pm . My mobile is on the national don't call list. I added my number a few months back after several spam calls. Turns out intelius and several other people search sites have my mobile number I had for 8 yrs under another persons name. How do you remove your information from these sites selling it if they have it under someone elses?

Got a call on my cell from this #.  Did not leave a message This was at 12:30 PM 2/18/12.  From the previous post it looks like they have been very busy today.  I have activated
the "block" feature on my phone to block this number.

Does it do any good  to be  on a Do Not Call list?  I still get these calls, even though I'm on the list.

They probably did not have your number in some cases.  Some ROBO dialers will start with a block of numbers assigned to an area code, then go through every combination of possible numbers.    

Ohter dialers are loaded from  a purchased data baseof from past sales or survey respondents.  

I don't think there is much rhime or reason behind who gets called in most cases, other than to scam or sell you something you don't want or need..  .    

Just answer with "collections and litigation department., who is calling please.?"  or any thing else you might dream up...  enjoy the games..  Lie like hell you are not under oath..

I am having a hell of a lot of fun with that one..

Reporting these types of things to the FCC or FTC is an utter and complete waste of time. I have personally filed over 65 FCC complaints since 2010 and have received the same canned letter back from them stating that "they have investigated the matter and do not find enough facts to find any violation occurred." I am on both the federal and state do-not-call lists so how can this not be a violation? The FCC and FCC are like a lot of government programs whose only purpose is to just use our tax dollars to fund non-value added jobs. They should be eliminated completely because they do absolutely nothing for the public. Sorry but that's just the truth. There's no way to get these slimy bottom-feeding telemarketing companies to stop calling you and they know it. The only way is to disconnect your phone line completely then the big phone companies like Verizon and AT&T will start losing enough business to warrant taking action themselves. You've got to hit them where it hurts - their bottom line! Good luck!

These calls cost me time and money How Can I Stop Them for EVER??????

Called me also on 2/18/12.  Thanks for all the posts. The cruise scamers finally called! Area code 843 comes from Greenville or Spartanburg  S.C., though it's probably doctored.   Caller ID said  "unknown name". Next time my fax machine will answer.

call was to take a economy survey and where going to offer me a get away for 4 days did not answered they left a message

Just got this call and let it ring figuring I'd look it up here afterward.  After reading the post here, I'm glad I didn't answer it.  I'm guessing the loophole around the "Do Not Call" list rules is their lame attempt to conduct a "survey" of some kind before giving you the real intention of the call...a sales pitch!

No need to get bent outa shape over these.  Just don't answer!  If the call from an unknown number is legit, they'll likely leave a message you can decide to return right away... or not!  JMHO   :)
