Harry, be real, people need to check with the fraud departments of FEDEX, UPS, DHL, before listening to some unknown caller. It's amazing how you received an email and responded. Let me raise the big BS flag 3 times on your response. I'm confused why this debt collector would be using a Fedex location address http://www.bbb.org/columbia/business-reviews/ ... ton-sc-34001863  and also confused about business practices that you mentioned.

Used my old and closed business name;  incorrect state claiming to be Fed-ex.  Message indicated a return call MUST be made within 4 hours.  SCAM!!  Not calling.  Authorities have been contacted.

I am not an employee of this company. So, don't throw me under even if you don't like my answer.
I got an email. Thought it was scam or fraud as we have a FedEx account and all our activities are done using pre printed forms etc. But, obviously some of our employees used blank forms to send packages and FedEx sent this info to this collection agency. The names, dates, shipments - all genuine in our case.

Does calling fedex and asking if we owe anything and being told "no" count as doing research? Your company is just a typical scam. Bully people and make them think they have no choice but to pay "or else". Just like the fake time line, "you must call back by 5pm eastern time, or else". "Or else" what? You'll call again? With the same threat?

The reason youre in the state your in is because the laws are on your side, try doing buisiness in my state and you won't be protected by distance.

Bull shyt. We did contact FedEx and our account is clean. You have an insider sendind fraudulent bills out in hopes someone will pay it. Why did your amount that was supposedly owed change 5 times in 5 calls? Because you're a scammer.

Total lies, we contacted FedEx about the claimed money owed that synter resource group said we owed on the "ever changing amount " (they always had a slightly different amount we supposedly owed) FedEx says its a scam and our account is clean. Synter, go F $@( yourselves.

No one else reading this page can ''please stop these calls" from anywhere on your behalf. These forums are for call recipients to share their experience, attempt to identify call sources, and optionally offer advice, as others before you have done. To stop the noise you must confront the source of your calls *directly*.

To me it seems that there are two things wrong with this company. 1.They are receiving outdated account info to collect that has been paid and 2. Attempting to collect a legit debt from the wrong person with the same name.

I of course have no proof, but a lot of what they are doing is wrong. I personally think that there is someone within Synter collecting info and using it to scam people by spoofing their caller ID.

>>> it does seem a bit strange that a legitimate employee of a legitimate company would be replying. <<<

Perhaps it's a misguided employee or a friend or relative of an employee.  I have to admit, after having spent some time on this site, that very little surprises me anymore.

No, I'd go with what my carrier has to say, rather than some company I've never done business with.

However, you keep insisting that people owe money, when they have clearly stated they called their carrier and according to their carrier, they owe nothing.

I will agree - BUT when the same message is copied & pasted MANY times and to old threads)  - and MANY different IDs are used as posters,  it does seem a bit strange that a legitimate employee of a legitimate company would be replying.

Yes I agree. If you don't feel the bill is due then call them or email. Don't go off what others are saying, if your personal experience was that the bill is not yours then explain why. Just because you may have paid there could be a reason they have a open bill for you. If you state you paid it tell them, their client may have misapplied the funds, refunded it on accident, etc. There are numerous reasons why an bill could be due and until you find out why someone is calling you for debt owed, the best way is to ask.

Perfect. You can also call the UPS accounts receivable department and provide them the UPS invoice number Synter is stating you owe so they can review.

Having done a bit of research on the Internet, there are numerous complaints about Synter Resource Group.  So they may be "legitimate" however, many people are complaining about being billed for shipping that was already paid and on calling their carrier, were told that they don't owe any money.  So whether someone is spoofing the number or not, the company still has many complaints of bogus debt levelled at them.

No I haven't. I just choose not to use it since I pay my bills. I don't need you to know my name. I use a keywork from your replies. Please let him know what I said and you can ask him to call Synter on your behalf to find out why they are calling you for money due.

You really don't get it do you?  People are not posting "disputes" on this online forum - they are posting their experience with the owner of the phone number.  They already called their carriers and were told their accounts are in good standing and they owe nothing.  So your whole spiel is getting rather old.  Add to that - no one believes you.  You must also suffer a lot from impulsivity - you keep changing your posted name.  Gee, why is that?   BTW, the whole purpose of this website is to expose scams and shams like the one you support.

Hey guys,

I'm not vouching for the legitimacy of the debt they say you owe or for their tactics -- I'm not privy to those items.  And they may be entirely in error in your individual cases.  But Synter Resource Group does seem to be a relatively long-established accounts receivables management company.  They are listed -- with the phone number in this thread -- in the places you might expect them to be listed if they are legitimate.

Here is their listing in Businessweek.
http://investing.businessweek.com/research/st ... vcapId=51946150

Here is their listing in Inc.
http://www.inc.com/profile/synter-resource-group

And here is their business registration in good standing in the South Carolina Secretary of State's office.
http://www.sos.sc.gov/index.asp?n=18&p=4&s=18&corporateid=84833

Now it could be that someone with a VoIP phone may be spoofing the caller ID of this company.  But I don't have enough proof of that from what has been posted here to be able to say anything like that if that's true.  At least, not yet.  But if you call the number 843-746-2200 back on your own phone, the sites listed above suggest, independently of any shill or the caller himself, that you will reach the real company having the name mentioned here.

The upshot is, if you are going to hunt shills, at least do a little easy research first.  Ready, aim, and fire at them - don't fire first and THEN get ready and aim!  It makes all of us "regulars" look bad when you do.  This company might well be prone to errors in their accounting, for whatever reason.  The evidence here, taken at face value, suggests that they might be. I don't know that for a fact yet.

But if you feel that you want to fight these people, you might have to do so a little differently than if it were just a sweatshop operation set up to scam people out of their money.

I am sure they would resolve it these consumers or customers would call them and try to resolve rather than just posting disputes on a "scam" website. Its a easy fix if they just pick the phone up and speak to a rep who can help them with their bills.
