I received a call from a blocked number about some legal documents to call 844-639-0999 with a case number.  I called and spoke with a lady who told me I owed "over-draft" fees from a checking account that I had 12! years ago!  I did give her a pre-paid card number, but there will be no money on it, and I have placed a call to that bank-just to double check, but I thought it was a scam.

Ok, I googled the address, Maps lists a UPS store for that address. Of interest is there is also a RS and Associates also listed with the BBB at this same address. Same # of 160. I think its safe to say that since its a box at a UPS store this is a extortion scam operation.

This People Have been calling me and threating me to take me to court over a credit card that was not payd I think this has been over 6 - 7 Years ago.... can they call and thret me to take me to court can they really do that and they asked me for a credit card info or debit I was scared to I went to open a account with 15 dllrs I told them I would deposit the money tomorrow 6-5-14 and they said ok that would be fine... but my question now is can they have taken out the money I cant go into online banking to chek.... since I just oppend the account ....

Can they still take the money out of my debit card I just opened it today it only had 15 dollars...and it has a overdraft protection

Per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt/proof that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of their first call is a violation of federal law.  In other words, if they can't or won't mail written, verifiable proof of debt that they can collect, they don't get paid - per the FDCPA!  

Please call your financial institution first thing in the morning and explain what's happened.  Unfortunately, you have paid scammers.  Also report the callers to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.

They called my husband and said I needed to call them. Same song and dance about court papers and an old address. First thing I did was google the number and come across this site. Thank goodness.

Got the same damn call and some how they got my work number too.... They have called multiple times, they gave me the number  they answer  the call by saying "corporate" they don't say their name or anything just corporate. Then I have the my "case" number and they took forever to answer so I hung up . I've spoke with Nikki, bill, and Theresa. They said they were with wsgn associates

Rec'd call from a "No Caller ID" number, asked me if I would be home between 1 & 2pm today so that they could deliver some legal documents to me.  I told her no... she said well will you call this number 844-639-0999 so that they can reschedule the delivery.  Gave me a reference number, I will not be calling the number, and told her so.  She asked if the DOB was accurate, told her no, asked if last for of social was accurate, told her no, she goes well could it be your father... told her no, and he is deceased anyway.  SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!!!

I got a call from this number also. The caller ID came up as 'unknown'. I answered it and he verified my name over the phone and wanted to know if I would be home between 10am-1030am. He was going to serve me a summons regarding a legal matter. Not know what the heck I did, I inquired and he told me he is not at liberty to discuss. He was just the messenger guy. He gave me another number to call, 844-639-0999 and a Case Number. He said they could probably help more with info. So I called. The gentleman I spoke with acted professionally and needed my Case Number to see who was handling this. I gave it to him and he put me on hold for about 3 minutes. When returning, he informed me that he was the one handling the case. He explained to me that I had a Texaco Gas credit card and owed 700.00. And wantedd to know if I could take care of it with him. Of course I said no. I had a few gas cards from 12-15 years ago. I told him that and there is no record of it anywhere on my credit report. He said if I dont pay it, this matter will be reported to the courts. Which I found odd, cause the original caller said he had a sumons to deliver to me. I basically said, you deviver the summons and then we can talk. He just said 'Good Luck' and hung up.

Me as well. I feel sorry for the people whose job this is - they must be desperate for work.

I just got the exact same call with no information on who the legal papers are from. Same 844-639-0999 number.

Got the exact Same call right now..said they are trying to serve legal papers.   Its a scam. I have no reason to get Served. But have been getting alot of these scam  calls.

the EXACT SAME THING happened to us just right now.  Saying that we owed money.  Gave us the EXACT same number and told us to pay over the phone.  Saying there are court papers coming our way but told me an address that I have not lived at for over 10 years! Should I contact the local authorities?

I just received a call today about the same thing. They also tried an address I lived at like 5 years ago. I did have a called ID number show up. It was a local hospital number. When I called to inquire what this was all about they said that the number was a fax number in one of their offices. I called my local phone company and dialed *57 then contacted the local authorities.

Received a call from a caller by the name of "Megan". Was called at my work and her number came up as "Blocked". Asks for me and tells me that its a legal matter with "papers" and read back to me an address of which I haven't livid at for near over 10 years. Told me that might be on why I haven't received them and to call 844-639-0999 and tell them so. She was unable to tell me who this company was and the name of her company and what it was concerning. No idea on how she got my work number and told her that I wont be calling anybody with a phone number I don't know and I felt that it was a scam. Came across Google search and this website to find out several other numbers with 844 to find out I was right with my instincts.
