LTS also operates using 844-882-4631.  Please see all comments related to that number to see more info about it being a scam.  We received a phone call from LTS Associates claiming we owed money to Wells Fargo back from years ago.  They threatened to garnish our wages and pull us into court unless we paid them since there was a civil suit against us.  Ours followed the same process as MLG all the others.  She wanted a debit card or banking information.  She said if I didn't feel comfortable providing that, we needed to provide a number for a prepaid loadable card.  I was so upset until we contacted Wells Fargo.  They had no record of this and warned us to make sure you ask for "proof of debt."  I asked for it twice and I got the runaround.  Finally, I saw all these sites (thank you God!).  I called back and told them that they are required to show "proof of debt" and that all over the internet it says they are committing fraud and to never call me ever again.  I plan on reporting them to the FTC as well.  Apparently, they also operate via other phone numbers such as 844-882-4631.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Received another call from 214-628-6924. I told them to stop calling me, and the woman promised that she would mark that down in the file. Was promised this the other day, too. I've reported them to the FTC.

I would like to warn as many people as possible about the attempted telephone scam I was a victim of today.

2 days ago, a strange number called my home phone. I was not home to answer. The caller ID displayed the name A Victor and the telephone number 214-628-6924. I called it back, got a recording for "National Locating Corporation" (no menu options listed), hung up, and thought no more of it.

Today (3-21-2014) I was on lunch in the break room of my office, when my confused co-worker came to get me. She said she had an odd call from a woman saying I needed to return her call in the next 2 hours and give a reference number to avoid "legal action."  Needless to say, I was confused and concerned, so I called back immediately from my work phone.

A woman answered the phone "LTS and Associates". I told her who I was and gave the reference number. I asked her why I had received a call from them and what kind of business they did.  She said they had "many departments" and had no idea why I was called.  She then transferred me and another woman immediately tells me a civil lawsuit had been filed against me.  I laughed and said there was absolutely no reason anyone would do that. I demanded to know who filed this lawsuit.  I demanded to know what LTS and Associates was. She avoided answering any of my questions while being very rude and trying to get information from me. She asked me to verify my date of birth. I was pretty sure at this point it was a scam. I refused to verify anything.  She stated "I have your social security number on the screen in front of me."  I told her that she could read it me and be the one to verify who she was. After all, she had called me. This goes on for a while.

When she realized I was not going to give her any information, she threatened me. She stated "Since you think this is so funny, I'll forward your paperwork upstairs. We'll have you served and see you in court in 30 days."

I didn't think any of it was funny. I was creeped out. These people called me at home on my unlisted number and then AT MY JOB and THREATENED ME.  I only wish I had googled the number before calling so I could berate that scamming, thieving bunch of cowards and crooks when I called back with my "reference number."  I have researched this as much as possible. They will use threats of legal action, civil lawsuits, debt collection, sealed legal documents, etc..In some cases they have even called the intended victim's family members and friends.

I just received a call from a "Jason Conklin" at 214-628-6924, saying he had "sealed court documents" detailing a legal complaint against me, and directing me to call 844-643-6615 and give them a 6-character alphanumeric "case number." Online sleuthing revealed that the 214 number was a landline originating in Dallas, TX, and a call to the 844 number got me "LTS & Associates." Online listings for them characterize them as "business consultants" or specializing in "business to business," which in no way checks out with the characterization as legal professionals. This appears to be fraudulent.

Just got a call from them stating that they had sealed court documents for me and a case number. I kept questioning the guy and got the answer of 'I don't know what this is regarding because it is a sealed document' and 'you have 2 hours to call the office and present them with the case number for more details'. I took down the information, but checked here first for both the calling number and the number given because I have dealt with scammers before. Both numbers are 214-628-6924 & 844-643-6615

100% scam.  Here is how it works.  They get a the phone number of a parent, probably from public records or they might be hacking your online backups for your cell phone.  Next they contact "mom" or "dad", and here come the threats of legal action, whatever.  You're supposed to bend to them and offer to pay to get little Johnny or Suzie off. If you are savvy but cautious maybe you pass the info on to the kid, who, thinking that mom or dad has cleared the way, calls up to see what this is all about and the first question they ask is for your DOB and last 4 SSN.  Now with that info an ID thief can have a field day.  Here are the names and numbers involved in the scam.  There is this one 720-271-3833 that comes back to "J Robertson" the caller we dealt with identified self as "Jason Thompson" but that is an alias I'm sure. Yes the inbound caller says they are from "National Locating Service" or something like that.  They give the victim a different phone number 844-643-6615 with some BS case number.  Callers to that number are greeted by "LTS associates."  If you refuse to play the game at any stage the "we'll see you in court" threat tumbles out.  SCAM SCAM SCAM, warn anyone in contact with them.

Someone from this number has contacted my parents and my in-laws. Not really sure how they got those numbers. Definitely some kind of process server scam. Do not return the call. Do not take the bait. I'm passing my experience along to my state's attorney general and the BBB.

Got a call from this number just now: a woman stated she was calling my number regarding my daughter, that she was holding a "court sealed letter" and my daughter had two hours to reply at 1-844-643-6615. She was rude, told me to get a pen and write down the number and case #. I stated I could not contact my daughter in that time frame.....she hung up on me.
From her conversation, I felt threatened to some extent .
