No need to worry. Most of the companies these slime bags work for are unlicensed--they have no standing in criminal court and little standing in civil court. In most states, even if you did write a bad check to them--which you didn't--it isn't fraud, and if it is a post dated check--that is what you are agreeing to--it is a civil, not criminal matter.

If you are waiting for the police to show up regarding his matter, you might want to have some take-out because you will be waiting a long time.

Debt Collector
RICK DAILY is the name left on my voicemails to call back at 844-676-3467. Saying they will prosecute me to the full extent of the law. What I do with these types of call is I just answer the phone with; this is Agent so and so or sergeant whoever. Have fun with them. Don't be scared of them. Even if you owe debt, chances are its already on your credit and letting it slide a bit longer isnt going to get you arrested. Fee's may increase, but I dont think you're going to jail. If you think theres warrents out, check with your local police department. Reporting to the number FTC is a good idea too.  This company is obviously a fake and this is a scam since there is no company listing online with the name or phone number.

They have been leaving these threats on my phone for years. I have yet to be arrested. Scam artists. Nothing short of extortion, and a direct violation of so many federal laws it is not funny.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Do NOT call them back, or even talk to them for that matter.  They are criminal scammers.  The only way they will ever see the police is when the police arrest them!  The number appears to be spoofed but you should still report it to the FCC and FBI.

Event Reminder
Upon returning the phone call, a person who claims to be an investigator will answer. Will likely give different names. Whoever it is also has previous and current address information. They will ask for bank information over the phone.

Calls once a week.  Computerized caller.  1-844-676-3467 is number that shows as call from on Cell phone.  Claims a fraud attempt in their office.  Company name  "Hamilton Processing" will not search on internet.  Says to press 8 to talk to rep.  pressing 8 does nothing.  Obviously does not know who they are calling.  Suspect a fiching scam.  Gives a number to call back once.  If it was real they would know who they were calling and would call using a live operator.
