I received a call from Robert Nichols saying that I am listed an emergency contact for Joshua Shishna (????) and need to call back immediately. I called and a woamn picked up a phone. When i asked her she said it was an authority something...and she hung up. Total SCAM! The phone number should be disabled! SCAM SCAM SCAM

I just recieved a phone call regarding collection and they said that they were sending the police to my house in 45 minutes.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

These guy are jokes my father in law is a cop and I had him run the number and he said its a scam.DO NOT BE SCARED WITH THE CLOWNS.

I JUST RECEIVED THE SAME CALL WHICH THEY WERE ASKING FOR SOMEONE COMPELTELY DIFFERENT WHOM I HAD NO IDEA WHO IT WAS SINCE THEY WERE SAYING I WAS LISTED AS THE EMERGENCY CONTACT.  I CALLED BACK AND STACY TOLD  ME WHAT THE NUMBER WAS I GAVE HER THE NUMBER THEN I PLAYED BACK THE VOICEMAIL I RECEIVED TO HER WITH THE GUY STATING HE IS BEN STERLING STATING HE WAS LOOKING FOR BEN STRUT.  SHE STILL COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHO IT WAS SO I THEN PLAYED IT BACK LOUDER IN WHICH SHE GOT UPSET AND STATED SHE WOULD CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES.

My mother has been getting these messages at her work, she called me about 5 minutes ago saying to search this number for her and of course i went here first.  I've dealt with people like this in the past.  Same happen to me as i can see from other posts, told her she had three months to pay 864 dollars or she would go to jail for 3 months.  These people are scum of the earth and deserve to be jailed for what they are doing.

My husband was called today at work from this SAME number and told the EXACT same thing.

Just got a call from this number, a man identifiying himself as Robert Nichols said my wife had 2 fraud charges against her. When I said I know this is a scam and you are a fraud, he said he would send her to jail.

Same story here complete scam, called my husband said he had two felony warrants on a payday loan taken out in 2012 and he had 30 min to pay 1190.80 or was going to prison, luckily we did not have the money or he would have PD it, red flag one, call was not recorded for quality assurance, flag two could and would not fax documentation, red flag 3 broke law violating fair debt collection act by threatening imprisonment. They are a debt collecting agency using threats to get people to pay up. They claimed I had two felony charges against me and that they would be filing them today. Yeah right ... Oh well when you are educated enough to know what is going on they have no power over you

How did you pay them.  If you used a card, you might be able to get the bank that handles your cards to reverse the charges because of fraud.

Report this to police and your local attorney general; this is stealing, nothing more nor less.  Civil debt is not a crime and debt collectors cannot get warrants for anything.

Spoke to a lady named Stacy Cools (or however you spell it) Told me i owed 784.75 for two felony charges for a loan i had gotten back in august of 2013 and if i didnt pay i was going to spend 120 days in jail, me im a single Mom of a 3 year old and im 9 months pregnant i didn't know what to do so i paid it sad to say i got scammed....

These people call my grandmother and told her they trying to get in touch with me because I have 2 felony charges. If I don't come with 1400.00 in 30 minutes so I called from my personal phone and I talked to the lady and she said it's no bond which is a lie because murders get bonds. But later on today they called my brother and said the same to him I will be in jail for 120 days. They had my number so they could have called me back instead of calling my brother....I wish someone get these people.

This # called my husbands unlisted cell ph at 8:53 am.  The # showed as 844-707-7288  Since i didnt recognize it I didnt answer and they left a voicemail.  The man said his name was Robert(also my husbands name) nichols and he was called for the emergency contact for Willie Davis ( another unknown name).  I searxhed the # on the computer, and see all they do is change the names/story a bit.  Its either a scam/bill collecters, or both!!!  My husband is a private military contractor and i will have hime check into this further.  Dont pay any attention to this # callers...its all bs!!!!

I've gotten multiple calls from this number stating that my dad had bad checks. He does even write checks. this is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A man call said he was  from  a legal frim said I ow  $1,100. Pay in a hour  or go to jail that I would be pick up

1. Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one can be arrested for defaulting on a loan.  
2. Your mom's callers are scammers - in fact, they can't do zip to your mom.  
3. Per the FDCPA, no one should pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof that they owe a debt and proof that the caller can collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of federal law.  
4. The fact that the caller threatened your mom with "felony arrest warrants" and jail time is another huge, waving, red flag that the call is a scam.  In fact, if this were a "real" company, your mom could find a consumer attorney to sue THEM for multiple violations of the FDCPA, and have them pay HER.  More info here:

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

And folks should consider looking at maybe getting call blocking device or phone....you can Google them and many are around $60 or so.

My mom just got a phone call from a guy named Robert Nickels. He told her that she had 2 felony arrest warrants and if she didn't pay $539.80 that she would be arrested and have to spend 120 in jail and pay restitution also. He told her that she has 45 minutes to make a decision. I called the BBB and also the court house i was told by both that this is a scam. But my mom is worried that she will be getting arrested if she doesn't pay this money. He also told her that the statue of limitations was running out on this and that is why she has been contacted, and that this is from December of 2007. My mom is very ill and spent 3 months in the hospital just last year. She was on life support on 3 different occasions. She doesn't need this kind of stress.

Definitely a SCAM and they will call everyone in your family stating they have you listed as an emergency contact and the family member has felony fraud charges and a warrant for their arrest.  When you call back all you get is a recorded message.  SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!

Just received a message from a Chris Howard from this same number stating he was a legal processor in Orlando, Fl. I called the number back and he stated I was listed as and emergency contact for a family member who had 2 felony fraud charges and an arrest warrant and I needed to have him call immediately if he wanted to stay out of trouble.  Within minutes this Chris Howard had contacted his children, ex-wife, current wife, mother, etc...getting everyone worried and confused.  When he tried to call the number back no one would answer only a voicemail recording.  Thank god I took the time to google this clown right away to see it was a scam!

They have been calling my family scaring them saying that I had feloney warrants out for my arrest and that they were going to come get me and take me to New Mexico if I did not get in touch with them. I was all upset and scared so while I was talking to my mom she said look up the company name I did could not find anything. I then looked up the number got this page!!! These are low life people. Chris Howard had my mother and brother all upset cause he was telling them I was going to go to prison!!  How can these people live with themselves??? I am going to file a complaint call my local news company and let them know of this scam!!! I am so happy to know I'm not going to prison!!! These people call saying they are from Client Services and Processing.  I was listed as an emergency contact for my daughter. I immediately called my daughter to see if she was ok.  Then called the number back.  I would not answer any of their questions, just kept bombarding her with my questions of what-who-where and ignoring their questions.  She hung up.  I called back and got a man.  Again I asked questions and ignored his, he hung up.  The next time I called the woman answered.  She threatened to call the authorities and report that I was not cooperating.  I told her to go ahead because this was a scam and the authorities needed to be notified.  Now there is no one answering the phone, just a message saying "no one available to take calls and to leave a message".  If this was a real "client services and processing' agency - how are they getting any business done when they keep hanging up the phone???  I really believe this is a scam.

The same guy just called me. said he was calling the cops on me now... I told him after he told me that he couldn't send documentation to me that according to the Federal Trade Commission that I didn't have to make any payment to anyone without documentation. Thank you Peggy at the Huntsville Better Business Bureau!

This particular scam is one where these people try to get someone to wire money using western union or money gram... if anyone gets particular information on who these people are, please post.

OMG! Just received the same call from1-844-707-7288. The rep identified himself as Chris Howard and stated that a family member had a warrant for felony theft and fraud and needed to call them back. Needless to say, it was all a hoax! Bill collectors have really gone completely crazy. Their unprpfessionalism is something I can do without. Beware!!!!
