Today my Grandmother (78) received a call from QVD (845 228 8345). Now, with proper training and parental controls barring the computer from access to spam websites and potential Trojans, she was easily able to put two and two together and had realized that things didn't seem quite right. She asked questions after the man tried to haggle for a "donation".

"May I have more information regarding your foundation?" The man sort of said, bypassing her question, "Well... How about $15?" Being the little rebel that she is, my Grandmother refused and asked to recieve more information via telephone/email. The man then became very rude and sent her to his "secretary". Grandma said "I'd be very willing to make a donation, but I'm a bit curious... What does the Q in QVD stand for?" The woman couldn't answer and hung up.

With the information I've received, this is certainly a money scam. QVD does not have any connection with any military/veteran affiliation and should not be receiving a portion from anyone's paycheck. In addressing this number's credibility, I advise contacting the Federal Trade Commission or Attorney General to make a report.

Only garbage would use the Disabled Veterans to make a quick buck off of someone's hard earned money.

This called called at 9:11am on a weekday. Unfamiliar number and caller I.D. (QVD), so I did not answer. No message left on answering machine.

I want these people to stop calling.  They call 3 times a day, starting at 8:00 am eastern.  

they have been calling my house, 3 times yesterday. Both 2 times today i answered,they ask for my wife.  Tell them she is not here and he hangs up the phone. kinda funny(fishy)- call the number back get an answering machine with the same mans voice who called me twice today.   If they are looking for a donation for our vets(God Bless our vets(but i don't think this is legit)), don't you think they would be more than willing to talk to the spouse for the donation(instead hang up in there ear). sounds to me like a scam.  I am not giveing money to them. I will donate to our LOCAL American Legion.  

I want these annoying calls to stop!

Foundation of American Veterans (QVD) looking for donations. When I asked to remove my name the guy hung up on me. When you call back it just goes to a recording. They call at 88am, 8pm.... All odd hours. I am reporting to the FCC and the DNC list.

Had a couple of calls from them.  They call early also - 8:30 am or so.  Guy said Veteran's  (disabled) and was trying to act smooth by saying I had a nice voice instead of him being growled at.  Of course people growl - who likes being harassed by these calls?  Then he said 'I'm not rich and probably won't give $100, how about $20'? and then I had to stay on the phone to speak to another rep so they wouldn't call again.  I didn't like their approach.

This number has called 4x in the last three days.  They claim they are a "veterans" group.  Very rude.  The guy asked for my husband.  I asked him what it was about and he said "charity".  Then he said, "Look, is your husband there or not?"  I told him to STOP CALLING!!  I don't pledge money over the phone and I don't want any more literature from these groups.  Sounds like a scam!

Also political calls, surveys, debt collectors and companies you have done business with during the past 18 months.  However, they all are supposed to place you on their internal Do Not Call list if you request it.  In the cases of call centers, that only applies to the specific charity or political issue they called about.  In the case of debt collectors there are different rules but you can request in writing that all communications be only in writing via US Mail and they are supposed to honor that request.

I just learned charities are exempt from the do not call list.

I get a call from this number a few times a week, My caller ID says its from Carmel NY. Today I had a message left on my machine from this number just calling my name,  If I don't recognize the number or person calling I don't answer. It's funny that I'm on the do not call list and they keep calling.

This number is calling three times a day.  Late to respond to greeting, need to stop this.

Have received at least three calls.  Mail caller asks for "Carol" When I say she is unavailable, he quickly states "I'll call back" and hangs up.  Who are these people and how do I get rid of them?
