Today my Grandmother (78) received a call from QVD (845 228 8345). Now, with proper training and parental controls barring the computer from access to spam websites and potential Trojans, she was easily able to put two and two together and had realized that things didn't seem quite right. She asked questions after the man tried to haggle for a "donation".

"May I have more information regarding your foundation?" The man sort of said, bypassing her question, "Well... How about $15?" Being the little rebel that she is, my Grandmother refused and asked to recieve more information via telephone/email. The man then became very rude and sent her to his "secretary". Grandma said "I'd be very willing to make a donation, but I'm a bit curious... What does the Q in QVD stand for?" The woman couldn't answer and hung up.

With the information I've received, this is certainly a money scam. QVD does not have any connection with any military/veteran affiliation and should not be receiving a portion from anyone's paycheck. In addressing this number's credibility, I advise contacting the Federal Trade Commission or Attorney General to make a report.

Only garbage would use the Disabled Veterans to make a quick buck off of someone's hard earned money.

Very annoying phone call-they call nearly every day. i want it to stop.

Got a call from this number- the man said that he was calling on behalf of "Franciscan Friars" (Graymoor) and asked for a donation. The tone of his voice made me think this was believable, but I asked him to mail me something instead of calling

Agree with Kathy D. post. Called number and it is the Franciscans. They give you an option of being put on a do not call list but it will take up to 30 days to be effective.

Stop calling this number, this is harrassment.

Please do not follow the bad example of Iris Bray and Yolanda. These forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon. Your callers will not dutifully study random forum complaints and cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. DO NOT publish your phone numbers or other personal data here where any harvester can find them and encourage yet more junky calls.

Two calls back to back, 11:00 AM, no response from caller.

Best advice EVER!  Called the number back, pressed 1 and I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST!  Takes up to 30 days to be removed......

if you call the number back and listen to recording you have option of pressing 1 to get removed from their calling list :)  Exactly what i did bc they've been calling a couple times a day.

Received call but no one left a message.

We keep getting calls from this number and no one ever responds when we answer.  We wish we knew how to stop these calls.

I called the number.  This is the Franciscian Friars of Atonement.

Number keeps calling several times a day every day.I do not answer and they do not leave a message.No name appears on my caller ID.

Number appeared on my caller ID at 11:35 a.m. on 8/30/2010. Telephone rang twice and caller did not leave a message. They are in the constant habit of calling my number 2 or more times a day.

I have received numerous calls from this number this week. They always call and they don't leave a message. My telephone number is not listed and I'm wondering how they got my number.

just saw the number on my caller i.d. didn't pick it up no answer left on machine

Phone rings and I pick up and no on the other side this has happened 3 or 5 times in a week getting tired of them will report next time to the no call.
