I receive calls this number frequently.  Even when I do answer, no one is on the other end.

As always, thank all who have helped create the profile for the number 1-845-296-1010; unfortunately there are ways via computer software for people to hide behind bogus and randomly generated misinformation. The number is directly associated to a landline in Wappinger's Falls, NY and has been used for a variety of noted scams. Never offer any information to anyone over the telephone, especially someone who has called you. If the entity is legitimate in any way, they will have a number for u to call them back at your convenience (and after you research and verify), but most importantly will be very u derstanding in today's day of rampant computer crime of your reluctance to engage in conversation. SADLY, IF U DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER, DON'T ANSWER; IF U DO, OFFER, CONFIRM, DENY NOTHING AND HANG UP. If you have debt, trust me, the creditor will find u in a variety of ways, even if they sold your debt to a collection agency. Stay safe, GOD bless, and Happy Holidays!

I get called from this number a few times a week and whenever I answer the call ends immediately. If I do not answer there is never a voicemail.

These people call me once or twice every month. Must be looking for the previous owner of my number

Received a call from this number this morning. Answering machine screens all unrecognized calls and no message was left. This seems part of a pattern of calls from New York area codes that claim to be debt collectors for some unspecified debt. Ignore these idiots - Windstream *60 has not allowed the blocking of ANY calls from "corporate" customers. I'll be dropping Windstream and going totally mobile in near future. They suck.

This number called me at 8:14am today.  I never answer the phone when it calls.

Got two calls from this number on my cell phone today.

If you owe a legitimate debt, the debt collector MUST first send you a letter with their name, address, phone contact number and the amount owed and from whom they bought the bad debt.  The letter should also give you the opportunity to dispute the debt if you feel it is in error.  You should NEVER give out any personal information over the phone to someone who claims to be a debt collector.

If you have not received any such written notification, you should insist that the caller give you their name and address and report them to your state attorney general's office for consumer fraud.  If it is established that the collector is legit, and you do have an outstanding debt, you should write the collector a "Cease and Desist" letter, telling them that they are not to call you any more, and the calls must stop by law.  Only address the information sent to you via mail and provide NO personal information other than that which is already on the debt collector's letter.

Got a call from this number at 9:33am today

They keep calling & hang up after I answer.

They've called me before, I think. They just called at 11:30 this morning. UNKNOWN NAME on caller ID. I don't answer if I don't know the name or number. They didn't leave a message. I see from some of the other posts that they're bill collectors. Don't know why they'd be calling me. I have 4 bills that I pay each month upon receiving my SS check. I don't get worked up about it. Whatever!

i got calling and calling from this number but i did not never take the phone they are just only barhering you life they only want f*** us

don't know who or what it is but am sure it is some sort of collection agency as my son is in the service and has probs and I have hospital bills that i am making on payments.

I have recently gotten calls from this number. I did not answer the first 2 as it was during work. I answered the third and they said they were looking for me and I owed money to a college I have never heard. I said you have the wrong person then the person insisted on me telling her the last 4 digits of my ssn. ummm...what!!! I have never been called and asked for that. Why would you ever give that to anyone who calls you. You don't know where they are from or where they work. I don't know if this is a legitimate company but if they are, they should never ask for that. I called back and asked to talk to a supervisor and she also insisted I give her the information. I again refused. She tried really hard to get me to tell her it. The whole thing sounds really inky! Does anyone know if this is a company or a scam?

So, even if it had been legit at one time, it's probably not now.  There are so many scams out there, and so many sleazy collection agencies trying to collect on uncollectable loans, one can't be too sure.  calling you and you do pick up, just say "there is no one here by that name" and hang up on them.    All he has to do/say is "I deny I owe this debt"both verbally and in writing.

What do these people want, they call 5 to 7 times a day!!!!

They call 3 times a day all different times and no message. I am going to block their number now.

After many years of being "not listed" in the phone directory, we recently decided to be listed.  Every week we receive at least 2 calls from this number, but they disconnect as soon as we answer.  We are no longer answering, and they never leave a message.  I see by the previous replies, that this is a Collection Agency.  We are senior citizens, and owe no one.  We also had signed up for the "no call" list previous to those calls, but obviously that doesn't work.  We are thinking of going back to being "not listed", as we are receiving many out of area calls now, and many are political.

Every evening the phone rings at the same time (give or take ten minutes). I answered the call the first few times just to hear someone hang up.
I have a suggestion for dealing with people this annoying. If you have youg children just put them on the phone. A friend of mine used to do this with telemarketers. Six or eight "hello, hello, hello" from the kid they always hung up. It won't stop the phone calls but it will annoy the day lights out of them and give you a good laugh.

me too, several times daily. but no message just that annoying phone off the hook sound. Never ever leaves a message. who the hell is this??? I called them back and it said it is a "debt collector"

there a collection agency if you just answer the phone and take care of your bill or tell them they have the wrong number the calls will stop people

sorry rose...your wrong i did tell them they have the wrong number and they still call me now i tape the phone calls and after five calls i can sue for harassment..your company ICR has two more calls to make to me for a law suit and being there so stupid i know I'm going to get my lawsuit

It is annoying to have someone call your number you answer and get a answering machine to stay on the line.  I just block this number for follow up because I have no bad debt.

I also have been receiving calls from 845-296-1010.  They sometimes leave part of a message and other times no message is left.  Working nights I do not need these calls in the early daytime.
