Unknown caller from this number called my home at 8:45pm (all my family was sleeping). Didn't answer.

I want their number so I can call them at all hours of the day and night.  

Received call at 11:15 on a Saturday morning.  Caller I.D. Indicated the information was unavailable. Researched number on the Whitepages.com website but the only "free" information available was the number was a landline in Wappingers, NY.  Since I pay for my phone service I consider the service as a convienence for me, not unknown callers, therefor I chose not to answer.

This number called at 9:24 PM wanting to do a survey.  I told the woman "It's past 9:00; please don't call again!"

While i appreciate the info you've given but the whole "They are not the most pleasant people to work for but hey it puts bread on the table. " line i take issue with. Selling heroin and prostitution put bread on the table too but that doesn't make them right.

I used to work for Qsearch. They hire anybody that can read slightly above average and that will take the job. They pay $8.50 an hour and you make your own schedule with them. It sucks just as much if not more for the employees there because there is a quota and they know they are annoying people but employment is very difficult to come by. So, the employees put up with the abuse from the people they must call in order to survive i.e. pay rent, eat, support their families. It is pretty much a lost cause to say "Put me on the 'Do not call' list because after each phone call they put a 3 letter code down next to the number IN PENCIL. There are no computers, no keyboards, nothing is done electronically from the surveyors desk. They have a packet of papers loaded with numbers and when they call depending on the outcome of the call they write;
DNC - Do not call (In pencil on paper might I add that gets thrown in to a recycle bin)
I don't remember all the other codes but they go something like, disconnected line, deceased resident, cell phone,  call back at a later time, etc.
These people are given a different script every night for different states/parts of the country. Their workstation consists of an old phone, a couple pencils, the call lists, lists of codes to mark the numbers and of course the surveys. Crappy place to work but slightly above average pay in NY. When I worked there apparently I was not working fast enough so they instructed me to dial faster, hang up faster (just push the button with my finger) and redial faster. They are not the most pleasant people to work for but hey it puts bread on the table.

just got a call, did not leave a voice mail. I called back and it said they were Qsearch inc and since it's political surveys they are exempt from the do not call list (just like police, fire, etc) and if I wanted to leave number and be added to their do not call list on their voice mail, I could then be excluded, so I did.

Will not accept calls from 'unavailable' from far away area codes. This is a random robo call to solicit business.

Called my cell, didn't answer. Looked up the number and saw this post. Needless to say I'm glad I didn't answer.

Unsolicited call at inconvenient time

I got a call from this number today, didn't answer. Came here to find out information about them. I went to the website that annon! posted and saw the owner's name, Robert Glemming, then I clicked the link next to it that said Get Info. I saw that he lives in Montgomery, NY. I went to 411.com and did a search for Robert Glemming in Montgomery, NY, and the dope actually has his number listed.

So I called, and a man answered, I can only assume it was Robert. I asked him "do you have time to complete a short survey?" there was a pause and he said "No" and I laughed and hung up. Haha. His number was 845-778-1452, bother him during dinner now. :)

i never answer #'s that i dont know they never leave a message if you dont pick up

I was very busy when the phone rang.  I stopped to answer and they hung up.
It was irritating to say the least, I called back and got no answer. Something just told me to look it up, and
then I saw this, glad I can report it.

Keep calling my cell phone.  Never leave a message.

I am like Cat... I screen all my calls.  I work from home and if I answered every call I get, I would never get any work done.  So if I do not recognize it, I do not answer.  Sometimes I may look it up to see if it may have been important, usually not.  But it has cut down on the calls requesting money, as well as political calls, and most of the telemarketers.  

I have told everyone that I do business with or have a relationship with, that if they call form an unfamiliary number to start leaving a message and if I do not answer I will call them back, or if I am there and I recognized their voice I will pick up if I can.  This has worked well.  

However, I do like the attorney general's office answer for those persistent buggers...

Called at 9:47pm asked if i could take a short survey...i said not at 10pm they hung up

Rec'd a call from (845)296-1141 . Nobody on other line. Called back. Apparently a "political research company". Recording states that a such they are excempt from the Do Not Call Registry  (but you may add your number to THEIR registry and they will no longe call). We shall see.

I just had a call from the same number but showed up as 'caller unknown'. Your response is brilliant, I hope they call back!!

caller from Wappingers Falls NYclaims to be doing a survey. They call between 5 to 7 pm and it's getting annoying told them to stop with no avbail. Evidently the NYS Do Not call registry does not work like the rest of the government offices.......

Got a call at 9:30 pm on a Tuesday night. I had gone to bed early & it woke me up. I did not answer. No msg. left. Appreciate the posts about this in this site. Helpful.
