Caller ID said Home Security. Answering Machine kicked in and some slimeball left a message about a free security system Yeah, right.

They will not quit. they move to another exchange within the same area code. I recommend blocking the entire area code if you have a call blocker. Right now I have three different area codes from New york blocked, so it dont matter how many exchanges they use the phone never rings, it just shows up on the TV. I won't recommend a call blocker brand, but digitone works for me.

Called while I was at work. No message of course. Caller ID doesn't have a name, just the phone all crammed together.

845-363-5248 called--June 30th, 12:30 PM....they hung up when my answering machine picked up. I have a "rule-of-thumb" that I live by, if someone wants to waste their time and call me from a CALLER ID - UNKNOWN phone number. They had better leave me a message on my answering machine, PERIOD.!!!....I pay the phone bill and my phone is for my convenience, not theirs to try and sell me something I do not want or need. I am not the curious type, I never call the number back..but I do look up the number on the internet and put the number on my CALL BLOCKER LIST.! ...The out of area phone numbers are nothing put scammers trying to prey on the next victim.......usually the elderly!

Three times the phone rang and each time I answered it, they hung up. The caller ID says HOME SECURITY. Why do we continue to get calls like this when we are on the Do Not Call Registry?

That's easy. It backfires. If you reply to the call in any way it puts you on a list of numbers that reply to calls. They'll harass you endlessly.

Just got a call from this number and OF COURSE never answer my phone when I don't know who's calling. and have turned off my answering machine so these idiots cannot leave a message. Being on the DO NOT CALL list is a big joke.

Do not agree to anything they are telemarketers.
