They called today and my son answered.  They told him to go onto the computer immediately because we have a virus that is going to blow up our computer.  My son hung on them.  The caller id said McDonalds.

Called from this number by a heavy accented man who said he was calling from "tech support and windows for my computer". When I replied "No, I don't think so" he told me to ^&)@# off and hung up on me.... darn! I was gonna have some fun! Maybe next time.

Says IRS..But scammers..Do not send any money to these idiots!

Hang-ups are I am told, because they have a computer dialing more #'s than operators working. Every time you answer or pick up in response to phone ring the computer saves your number and will dial it more often. After all odds are good for a contact.
The way to stop them...and I like to think mess up their computer's brain, is to press the # key a few times, immediately as you pick up the phone. It won't mess up real or OK calls, they just wonder what the tone means.
Back to the hang-up calls. The computer I am told only deals with numerical keys. The pound (#) key being non-numerical freaks the computer's brain, it does not know where to put your number so throws it out...not long and the calls stop.

I just got a call from this number.845-469-9827 Had to ask twice who they were with, couldn't make out the name, awful accent. .Finally got they were from Microsoft Windows and it was showing I was having problems with my computer. which caller ID says McDonalds,he  hung up.

Just got a phone call from this number (caller ID said "McDonalds") and when i answered, they told me they were calling from the national food and health organization and needed to know what medications we were taking. I asked which organization she was with and she just repeated that the was with the national food and health department. I asked which country several times (her accent was very strong). She eventually hung up.

Another hoax call from this number.  Ignored them when they did not answer immediately.

Regularly get these calls telling I have computer hard drive trouble.

My grandmother got a call from this number.  A lady was telling her that she had a virus on her computer and wanted her to push different buttons on her computer.  She told my grandmother that she was located in FL which is not true.  The caller ID said McDonalds 845-469-9827 so when she told me about all of this I looked the number up and found that she was located in NY.  I am not sure what kind of scam these people are trying to run, but please do not give them any information.

Called at 2:25PM.  We let the call go to our answering service.  No msg left.  By not answering the call most of these scammers go elsewhere.  Suggest you try not answering and let the call go to your answering service.  This might solve the repeat calls to your number.

I just got a call from 845-469-9827 and the guy on the phone had a very heavy accent and told me that he was from Microsoft and was receiving error message from my computer.  Itold him i had 4 computer wich one he said all of them, I then told him that i will get my own tech to look at it and he said that he wont be able to help. He insisted that i do what he wanted and i just hugup.

I got a call from this number saying they were a Windows company, but the caller ID said McDonald's, and that they were getting reports saying that I had downloaded some malware and the reports were coming into their office. I advised them of my virus software and that it was not notifying me of his claims. He said that it will not scan my computer everyday. I advised him that I will just take my computers to BestBuy and have them service my equipment and he said that they could not fix the computer like his company can and that his company is the one that is responsible for the Windows software. I hung up.

Got a call from this number earlier today and no message was left.  Came up on Caller ID as follows:

But they will, I get calls at 2:30 am, 4 am, 5:30 am, ad nauseum. All I hear is someone with a very thick accent saying "hello" over and over. Once I got the Microsoft story about a very bad virus and they needed to access my computer.

I just got a call from 845-469-9827 and the guy on the phone had a very heavy accent and told me that he was from Microsoft and was receiving error message from my computer.  I explain to him that he was not receiving any message from this computer.  He also wanted me to hit the window flag key and the r key at the same time and then enter some code in that box.  I refuse and hung up the phone and he called right back and a different number showed up.   SCAM   SCAM  SCAM.......

Sorry also they said they where from a company called Safenoid, a third party company from microsoft.

Got that call today, again says they are from windows and that my computer is at risk and my driver is about to crash, load of bull!!!

Phone display says the call is from Chester, NY.  Answered but caller didn't say anything.

For the last week or so i have been getting these calls from different numbers, Never answer, mark as "Scam" in my contact list.

Just received a call from this number.  He had personal information (name, etc) and when I told him the person was not here he wanted to talk to me about my computer. Said he was from Windows and that my computer was having trouble.  I told him there was no problem with my computer and hung up.  Couldn't speak English very well.  Just another scam.

NY, USA. Nobody said a word. When I called back it just rang and rang.

This is a scam saying  they are from DISH and they are coming to your home to replace your receiver.  They want credit card numbers.  Call DISH, give all the info. They are closing in on these criminals.  We have notified the police.

Got a call two days ago from a number caller id showed as boulder, co. Male with foreign accent said he was from Microsoft windows and wanted control of my computer to fix problem with someone spying in my computer. I hung up they immediately called back from a number that said payphone When I confronted them they stuck to the same story I hung up again. Yesterday another pay phone number called I didn't answer. Just got one today from 845-469-9827 identified on caller ID as McDonalds. Told my husband they were calling because of error messages they were getting from our computer. He told them we didn't have a computer then they hung up. When you try to call the number back you get no answer. This is a SCAM do not give out any information to these people.

I received a call today,my phone number is unlisted. I don't know how they got the phone number but they state there is a problem with a virus in my software. I asked where they are calling from they hung up.

this bloke called me up today on my mobile phone and I am living in Australia, he was pretending to be an authorized person of Telstra, trying to organise a meeting with me at my convenience, too see if someone could sell me a Telstra Plan.. This bloke knew too much info about me.. for example he knew that my current plan with my current provider had expired, he knew my home address without any clue or anything... I immediately asked him to have a chat with his manager and he made an excuse "Oh my manager is busy at the moment, and he will call you up later this afternoon"... Occassionally I recieve the odd text message directed at anybody from freelotto.com for competitions I have apparently won without even entering, I am hoping this is harmless crap.. However in this day and age, their is no protection.. I think it is a scam..

Wanted to fix my problem with windows, had a very bad accent just laughed and hung up. No calls back yet.

Caller ID says McDonalds and a young man told me micro soft was showing several errors over the last few days.  I asked him if he thought I fell off the spud truck yesterday and also that I did not believe him and  he should call someone who does believe him.  I tried calling the number back and no one answers.  There is no doubt this is a scam of some sort but I wouldn't let him talk long enough to find out what it was.
