There specific reply was "Good luck with that."

Got a call from CBHV (845) 561-1395. Going to sue me. When I called back , they addressed me by a different name. I told them I was not that person and no-one by that name ever lived here or had this tel. number since, we had it for over 10 years. The asked me if I lived at an address they gave me & I told them no. Nothing matched # or street name.
Turns out this was the Credit Bureau of Hudson Valley, an fancy name for a bunch of idits with a bank of phones, trying to annoy people; by claiming to be a "collection agency". f they call you in error, don't just ignore it or do nothing; instead fill out a complaint form for telephone scam and let the attorney general deal with them............

They aren't allowed to call your neighbors turn them into the Attorney General.

Why are you so nasty?  Are you a collector?  Must be if you have no compassion for people or maybe you are just a hater?

keeps calling my cellphone and now my house phone...the caller says it's an important business matter and I need to return the phone call...if it were that important tell me what it is!!!!

they cannot say why they are calling on an answering machine, voicemail or to anyone who answers the phone. It is against federal law to leave any message that even hints to collection. the act is called FDCPA. so, of course they aren't going to say why they are calling unless they want to get sued and fined!

I received a letter which I worked out something with someone else in the office.  I misplaced the letter, so I called 3 days later when the payment was due to find out if there was a late payment fee attached.  The man was rude, I will admit that I used profanity only after he provoked me.  He started telling me that my payment was unacceptable, although I was looking at a letter that told me what my payment was.  My husband saw that I was upset, and tried to talk to the man.  My husband remained calm and the man got rude with him, and hung up on us.  I am filing a complaint with the BBB because I do not appreciate when I am trying to pay a bill & clean up my credit to deal with abuse.

Here's my recommendation, which is not official, but which I plan to do: * Call the Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint. * Call the local newspaper to complain about unethical practices. * There are some web sites out there that actually work with you to file a complaint. One of them is fightback.com. Another is consumerist.com. I don't know the names of any others off hand but you can research them. One or two don't charge for their service. * Some web sites offer tips well beyond what I have offered here. Good luck to all of you.

Instead of answering my questions I was treated rudely and yelled at.

These  morons called my neighbor looking for me and asking my neighbor to give me a message.  These idiots are so inept that they didn't bother to read that this account was settled via a bankruptcy.  I told them to never call my neighbor again and that they contact my lawyer in the future.

They've called my home twice asking for my father who passed away nearly 15 yrs ago. My parents never owned a credit card in their life, and ALWAYS PAID THEIR BILLS!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is, my parents lived in NY and I live in NJ, and they're calling my number. And yes, as others have stated, they are NASTY. I would love to get my hands on this Mr. Sam Wilson who calls, and show him what nasty really is. You would think they would be professional. These are a***oles who make minimum wage and try to force people into paying bills that probably don't exist.

One day I will locate Mr. Wilson as teach him respect. It's just a matter of time before I locate the address of this Collection Bureau of Hudson Valley, and when I do, Mr. Wilson id going to get a lesson in politeness.

How did they "Freeze" your bank accouint?
That is a New one to me... unless they had gotten a judgement in Court, I am not sure ANYBODY can freez one's Bank Account...

My x husband paid a judgment in the amount of $3900.00 for medical bills thru a wage garnish and the SAME judgment is on my credit report.  I contacted the hospital and they faxed me a statement of three outstanding co-pays that total $121.00 and indicated on the statement that was the ONLY balance owed.  The collection agency insists that I still owe the $3900.00 and that the hospiatl just has no recod of it.  They have previosly frozen my bank accounts for it and have NEVER sent me any proof that the charges are real.  It remains unresloved and I have no idea what to do about it.  I can not get my x husbands origional bills from the hospital to show that it is the same debt.  I fear they are going to freeze my accounts again.  They are runing my credit over a debt that was never mine & has been PAID IN FULL by someone else.  I have proof that he paid it, but can not get the credit company to leave me alone & repair the credit damage they are doing.

some one from 845-561-1395 called and left a message that i had some debt. I don't owe anything past due, etc,  so i called the number they gave (800-745-1395)to get off the list and both times i called, they passed me on to the requested extension and it just rang and rang. Ext 244 just won't answer. i dont want these bs calls on my cell phone!

Got a call from 845-561-1395 at 3:59pm regarding a $200 emergency room bill from when our child was hurt at school last June.  The school refused to pay more than $16 of the bill (stated that was the amount their policies allowed) so the remainder of the bill went unpaid.  We have filed for bankruptcy, and informed this A-HOLE of that.  His response was "you filed bankruptcy for $200?????"  He continued by saying that our lawyer never contacted him, that if we can pay a lawyer, we can afford to pay him"  I offered him our lawyers information, he refused to take it, stated that "why should I go out of my way because YOU refuse to pay a bill that YOU know YOU owe"  with snotty emphasis on every "you".  I again told him that per our lawyer, we were to give all collectors his name and phone number and that if he called again it would be harassment.  He again refused to take my info, so I told him to have a nice day and hung up on him...wonder how long before he calls back.  I will hang up on him again :)  He was a major JERK (and that is putting it nicely!)

7 missed calls from them in 3 weeks.  I want it to stop!!

Keep telling them that I just got phone # 3 months ago and The persons they are looking ask for is not at this number.  But they say it is listed that way.
Even though I explain each time that the new phone books will not be out till june and my number they are calling is unlisted they keep using the old phone book and ignore what I say. Tell them to not call back. They say as long as number is listed they will call. "JERKOFFS".... IDIOTS keep calling.  They are total jerks and keep calling at least 4 times a week.  Guess they like being abused as I am sick of them waking me up as I work at night.

I get the call about every 6 months for the idiot who had my number prior to me. It is some looser who cannot pay his bills and now I have to deal with it. He was some Mexican guy from my understanding.
