Text message says "Resource One alert. Please call 845-725-7654."

Text from 9099 saying:  "Resource One alert. Please call 845-725-7654".  Have also received text from 9099 saying: "customer issue, city credit union service frozen. please call 678-935-0400" Company-issued Sprint phone.  This stinks of scamola!

I have received this message 3 times by now and I asked Sprint to block any text or picture mail and I am still receiving these messages.

Someone on this blog complained about the same and said that their cell company was Sprint. I also have Sprint, would it be possible that only Sprint customers are getting this message? Please comment on this and I think that it would help if we all file police reports and also complain to Sprint.

This is soo frustrating.  I wish they could stop this....how does it happen?  Our numbers are supposed to be prive "opt out"

Rec'd a text msg from Text 9099 Resource One Alert asking to pls call 845-725-7654.  Don't know what this is about and don't receieve text on my cell phone.  Never heard of this company

My wife and I both got text messages from Resource One Alert telling us to call 845 725 7654. We have never had dealings with Resource One.

Has anyone had a call yet from Sprint about this?

I have Sprint and mine too came attached to a Sprint bill pay reminder.

just got the same text message. Have no accounts with this company. I will not call back as they may be able to attached the number you call from for long distance. This type of message has been used in jails before.

Rec'd the same text last night at 11:45 PM and it was quite irritating.  I live in TX and have no acct with this company and did not respond.  I have texting on my cell phone and will call Sprint to complain.

Thanks for the posting. I got the text to call Resource One. I checked with reverse phone and found this is a landline number. But where does text from?

I received the same text as everyone else.  Phishing scam, obviously don't call it or give any info.

A few months ago I received a text or voicemail, regarding a credit union account similar to this one (might have even been the same outfit).  I didn't have an account at that credit union but I went so far as to contact the named credit union in the Dallas area and ask them about it.  They told me they have been plagued by this same scammer, who is just hoping to hit on one of their customers by broadcasting spam.  They told me whoever it is keeps changing phone numbers and I guess stays one step ahead of the law.

I got one too! 12:00 AM! I have blocked texts but still got it.
Called Sprint and they transferred me to their fraud dept. When I got there I was magically disconnected.

The first Sprint person told me that the 9099 is directly from Sprint so I guess they got hacked?

I got the same text and I did not call it. It does seem like a phishing scam for credit card numbers. I wonder what would happen if you entered in bunk 16 digits, 100% guaranteed your next question is "please confirm your PIN".

Since I'm in Texas as well, I'm betting they simply brute dialed/texted a bunch numbers. Considering NYC is also 212.xxx.xxxx, and I have a 214.xxx.xxxx number, they just didn't stop the brute dialer.

Did not know caller/texter and the area code is from Hudson Valley NY... I do not know or have any affiliations with anyone in this part of the country.

I work at Resource One CU and this is indeed a Vishing scam.

I was dumb enough to call because one of our clients is Resource One Mortgage....the phone was busy...
