Got a call this morning, 9:03 in Holland.
Had a big laugh with him, told him what a scammer he was and kept him on the phone for 5 minutes.

called at 9 pm!!! didn't pick up the phone....

I received a missed call from this number. You have to know that I am living in France Europe so this is strange. I have friends in the NY area so I was taken it serious.

JUST ANOTHER SCAM CALL IN IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER! JUST FILED SEVERAL FORMAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE CALLER AND NUMBER.

So far this same guy has called from this number,and 607-756-9642-2102 which is in NY. and 714-999-9103 which is in California lol. Says He's from Microsoft and my computer is sending out error messages and wants permission to take control of my computer hung up on him and blocked the numbers.

just got a call no message- also from 530-888-9043- all scams I guess

Called last night around 8:30pm.... their english was so bad I couldn't understand what they were saying.  Knew it was a scam so simply hung up.

Got a call from 845-928-2102 caller ID said First Phone and the caller was of a foreign ( Indian) Language telling me he received an error message from my computer to his server and that I needed to get on my computer so he could direct to me as to how to fix it, I immediately asked him to identify the error and was told it was of Microsoft nature so I told him I would contact Microsoft, he then asked me if I needed his phone number I said yes and he then hung up. Feel this was a big scam of some kind

I just received a call from what sounds like the same guy with the east indian accent. He also wanted to "help" me with my computer and tried to get me to go onto it. He called last week from a different number and I told him I was busy and to call back. I didn't think he actually would. Then he called today from this number. I sent a report to the RCMP about it.
Unfortunately there are probably many naive people would would fall for this loser's lies.
When I questioned him about this being a possible scam he hung up on me. What an idiot.

I got the same thing, guy calling me telling me I got a free grant 7500$ don't have to pay back (indian or something, very hard to understand) I kept telling him he was breaking up and to repeat what he was saying, condition is that I should not have a criminal record, bankruptcy or something else, then he proceeds to ask me you do have one of those right? I kept telling him what? I cant understand you, you are breaking up. I guess he got fed up with MY game LOL and I heard him say after the 3rd time, f*** this s*** and he hung up. Yeah, like someone from the Federal government that would offer me a grant would use that kind of language! Get a life and learn how to speak english for crying out loud! Pity that companies you intrust with your info letting them know you are going to college will sell your info to such low life's to get scammed.

New scam with this number!  'Rex' called and said I had a $5000 government grant waiting for me to claim that I would never have to pay back-- Said it was like a gift from the government- yeah right...  All I needed to do was call 202-621-0076 and give them my file number and pay $214 to get the money.  That's when I told him this was bogus, take my name off your call list and quit trying to rip people off by scamming.

This is the fourth number tonight --the same person - saying he is from Microsoft. East Indian accent -- my computer in trouble .

I get calls from this # all the time.He keeps calling me a c-sucker/azzhole/f@ggot/every dame vulgar name you can think of.so i call him the same.all i asked was for them to take my # off their calling list.thats when the vulgar name calling starts.These noob's need to get a life.

These people phoned at 10:30 at night!  The night previous, they called at 9:30.  We go to bed at 9:00 or shorty afterwards.  If this call is from New York they are 2 hours later than me.  They said they were from some IT department and that I had a new computer.  I know this is a scam.

Ask them what IP address was your machine.  They usually hang up.

Just got unsolicited call from LFS OFFERRING ME £5000 AT £162.89 OVER 36MTHS. Very cheap I said for you to lend to 'someone with very poor credit rating'. I needed 4 guarentors or an upfront month payment of £162.89 as 'a gesture of good will'. They knew enough about me to make it an interesting conversation but declined their kind offer.

BEWARE!!!

Got seven calls today from this number and 6 others all saying I had window problems. A word of advise.....Try to keep no important info on your computer like Bank info, SS numbers, tax forms, ect, ect. If you do need to keep info on the computer I would suggest using Cypherix LE and store the info in that, its free and does offer some protection, I also use SD memory cards for my important storage of tax forms and important papers, it can be unpluged from the computer and stored in a safe place. Most poeple know this but a couple here seems to have had a close call, its almost at a point you can't trust your friends leave alone your enemies. Be very careful what you download, you may get more software than you expect and not know it till it is to late. Just trying to help and warn people, a computer can be an open book online.

Just talked to a guy named "Alex", who said he was calling from Windows technical support, and wanted to talk to the main computer user in the house. I said we don't use Windows. Then he asked what we do use. I told him it was none of his business, and he said "Oh my, it's none of my business?" (twice). And I said, "That's right, it's none of your business, good-bye!"

Scam Scam Scam

Got the same call today. The Indian sounding lady told me that she was from Windows 7 and that I had the same issue as everyone else and that she needed to remove the virus. I asked her how long it was going to take and she said a few minutes. I was gullible and asked her to hold so I could get the kids settled and when I got back she had hung up. I called back and there was no answer.

Thank God that they did not get my info because I am having some issues and tried to contact Microsoft this weekend to solve the problem but the IT dept was closed Sunday. I am sure I would have asked more questions when I got back to the phone and I would have figured out what was going on.

Since they did not answer the phone I searched the # and came across several sited with the same complaints.

I will report this to Microsoft. It crazy how people put their energy into stealing others information to make a living when they can be descent people and get areal job. Further more, it is scary that they were able to call me at my home #.

Also guys, a few days ago I notice that my Windows 7, which was installed on my computer by Microsoft last month, is now showing as "this copy of Windows is not genuine" I wonder if they have something to do with this.

I got the same phone call today from a man I could hardly understand becuase of the accent. Same srory as the other posts. He told me that I had spyware and virus issues. I kept asking who he worked for and he assured me not to worry b/c he was not selling anything. He showed me how many Warnings or Errors my computer had detected and blocked and for some reason he tried to tell me that those were active and causing problems with my computer. What problems? I asked. I have a new computer and everything runs fine. My only complaint is that if it gets jiggled it freezes. He exclaimed thats becuase I have a virus and that I should allow him and his world top tech's access to  my computer to fix the problem. (Say What ????)  I told him straight up that I was NOT going to give anyone access to my computer that I dont know. He tried to persuade me and I just asked him for a call back number so I could get him off the phone. The number he gave me went to a voice mail. SCAM
