I actually went to the movie theater they claimed I was being advertised in.  When I went, the pamphlets were nowhere to be found.  I complained and they talked to the manager.  He put them blocking the door and the kid, when I went (again), was in total shock, saying they just put those out for the first time the prior day and he never even saw someone reach for one.

Naturally, I called up MovieFacts, they said they'd cancel me and give me a free month.  They did neither.  They still tried to charge me for an extra month and keep calling to get money from me I shouldn't have to pay (I canceled).  Not only that, I had them on a recording agreeing to the free month and the cancellation.  I sent them a copy of the recording (they are in a one-person acknowledgement of recording state), yet they still refuse to acknowledge they canceled my account and gave me a free month (meaning they owe ME money).

A major scammer...and yet, they claim to be reputable.

Just contacted Cook County DA office and filed a fraud report. I also contacted the real William S Raniere and he is livid. He has NO dealings with this company and plans on filing a complaint with the sheriffs department. Also the Address given for the attorney is to the UPS store. Its not an attorney's office. We never even used their service. I own a line of high end pet salons all over Florida. So why the hell would I want to be in a movie theater. I'm not going away. Definitely a scare tactic from Movie Facts. They generally leave messages at odd hours when they know that no one will pick up, and they occasionally send letters, all in regards to a bogus charge that was made after we had already discontinued our service with Movie Facts (because we were getting no results with Movie Facts, as people have stated above).

This "lawyer's office" has made several "last warning" calls, but it's always one of two people who claim to be his assistant, generally trying to pretend that they're sympathetic to our standpoint so they're "just trying to give you a chance to work out the obvious miscommunication" before they have to go to litigation. As has been stated above, the number that the supposed lawyer's office leaves goes directly to Movie Facts.

I also recieved a message from this guy, Rick Davis, that included a file number. Our company did do an advertisement with Movie Facts, but after six months of zero response we quit sending them money. Now they call and write all the time!!!! Wish I would have at least gave him a fake #, kinda like he did some fake advertising for us!!

Well they are still at it as I got a message left stating his name was Jim Win from some attorney's office, couldn't understand the name of the attorney.  What is funny, our business is a law office but I guess the idiot didn't listen to the my message prior to leaving his message.  I was told that their fliers would be handed out to everyone who paid to come into the local movie theater.  My son and several of his friend go to that movie theater and said they have never been given a flier and hasn't seen them laying around anywhere either.  Yes, the is one Big Scam that will not get one red cent from us!!!!!

Yes this company is a total scam, they have numerous rip off reports and they will never provide anything in writing. My attorney has advised me to refuse any further contact from them and has suggested compiling a list of companies who have been screwed over by them or harrassed by them for a class action lawsuit. They target small businesses who they think will give into their BS.

This is the collections office for Movie Facts acting like a lawyers office (William S Raniere) Lawyer's office. When you call the number the person on the other end says corporate office or Movie Facts advertising. I owe them money for a bogus advertisement they did at my movie theater. No one ever picks up the advertisement. When the salesperson calls they say we are a really good company with the best results. If it's so great why didn't I see one coupon come in to my store. I have a friend that did the same thing. Don't waste your money. The salesperson doesn't take no for a answer. If you hang up someone else calls that says they are a manager and can give you a deal. They also have a C- rating with the BBB and are not Accredited with the BBB. BEWARE

Update -- just found out that Movie Facts' phone # is 847-299-9700...so this sounds like their in-house collections dept.  I'm guessing that if you're looking up this number here, you have an outstanding balance with Movie Facts.

Also received a call from this number, exactly as described above.  I haven't returned the call, although I'm sure it's about a dispute I have over what I believe are unwarranted charges by an advertising company called Movie Facts.  I'm guessing "Wm. S. Raniery" (that's how the name sounded to me) is some midwest attorney who basically runs a collection-calls business.

Got calls from this number.  Man who says he is Rick Davis calling from Attorney "Win-neri's" office and leaves some case number to refer to.  Doesn't says what he wants.  I also thought that if an attorny wants me they leave more info or I would have gotten some mail notice.  This is clearly some scare tactic of some kind,

Very rude sounding dude saying he was an attorney.  I told him I wasn't interested in what he needed to say.  Don't you think I'd get some mail notification or forwaring before getting harrassed by an attorney?  Sounds fishy.
