This caller advised we have won a contest and to call 1-888-230-1230 for more details where I spoke to an Alison Sinclair who advised I would be informed by certified mail of which of three prizes I had won. They asked for my Phone number and I am concerned they may try to use it and bill long distance calls to my account with Qwest. It would be much appreciated if it could be determined if these are scammers or not. Name above is my Email address. A further call which I did not answer came from PRIZE CLAIM OFC 708-344-4278

I received a robo-call from this number. They say I won something and I should phone somebody about it. I'm not going to call. I reported it as a violation of the Do Not Call List.

Got a call from this number by a guy named by Elijah. Didn't ask for anyone by name which is odd.  Apparently I won a new Navigator ! Considering he told me I won by entering at a local mall or fair but couldn't tell me which one because I don't enter contests. Not to mention he had no ones name !   SCAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Received a call from the same number today. She said we won their contest prize: a Ford car. She wanted us to call an 800 number. I advised my husband to hang up as we don't enter contests; period. This has scam or time share written all over it.

I received a message from Alison Sinclair stating I was guaranteed to win one of 5 prizes, a Cadillac Escalade, 10-night Hawaiian vac, $2500 cash,8/day Bahamas cruise, or 32" HDTV. I would receive a certified letter confirming a prize ceremony in which I would attend and be guaranteed a scratch off ticket with one of the above state prizes.  We'll see... Very sceptical but I don't see any negative comments on-line only sceptical ones. I will try to remember to report back here after I get info.

Heyyy so far now I count 5 of us who are one of the THREE possible winners of that Ford Explorer. :-D  I just got that call also. I didn't enter any such contest. And I figure if the prize were that big I would not be called by some prerecorded thing that didn't know my real name.

Got a call today from Claire advising me to call at 1-800-401-1194 because I had won one of three top prizes from an entry to win a 2008 Ford Explorer and that the message was time sensitive so I should call right back. After reading these post, I figured ok, I will call back and find out what they are up to so I can post that information, will let you know when "Claire" calls me back with my wonderful prize - hey maybe I won the Ford Explorer that no-one can afford to fill up the gas tank - ha!

I just got the same message from Claire regarding a Ford Explorer giveaway.   I entered the contest in the last 18 months etc.  We never sign up for contests b/c of scams like this.  We won't be calling.

I'm so glad you posted your message and I found it. The same message and number from "Claire" was left today.  I didn't answer the phone or hear the message being left.  I did not call back on the advice of my husband who said if it's legit they'll send a certified letter.  He thinks it may be a time-share or another scam. Thanks for your information.

Message said "you" (without being specific as to who "you" is) are a finalist for a 2008 Ford giveaway that you entered up to 18 months ago. She said her name was Clair and while there was no cost, there was a time limit, and I should call 800-401-1194 and speak to her to claim one of the top three prizes.
