This is the guy finally locked him up - looks like is out scamming people again - tried to date my brother

I am glad I did not answer their call. I get so many junk calls every day because my business number is on the Internet.

Called my Cell Phone at 7:30am. No message. I called back as it was a local number on my caller ID thinking it might be a customer. Nope, it rang 4 times then went to a busy signal.

Because the Police feel they are above the law nowadays.

Answered but then hung up - Somebody has a lot of free time to be hanging up after they call ... or they have a vendetta/vigilante

This is some police association. First off, they start their speech with "it's very dangerous out there". I said "maybe in your neighborhood. It's nice where I live. You must be a republican because the fear tactic is straight out of their handbook."

Then I politely asked this guy to take me off his marketing list. He carries on, saying "that's not all we do". I said "I don't care, take me off your list". And he continued on with his shpiel. I guess the cops don't have to observe telephone privacy laws.

These guys called me then hung up when I asked them who they were.  The line was busy when i called back several times.

Got a call from these guys on my work phone, started "it is very dangerous out there."  Then proceeded to tell me that they are collecting $$ for their children's identification program.  When I told him I had customers, he said he could wait because the "children really need the money."  I hit the mute button on my phone and set it aside.  After 5 min the guy hung up.

The call was probably from a fund raising company. It is illegal in most cases for Police & Fire Departments to solicit donations in Illinois. Always ask if the person on the phone is a Police or fire official. The answer is more than likely NO. Then as what percentage of any donation goes to the Police or Fire Department. 10% - 30% is not unusual.

Your intellegence level must make you a democrat.  Just sayin!  AND it isn't the "cops" calling...It is a phone service.  Maybe you should be informative, instead of just ignorant!

they call me every few days. They are behaving worse than some telemarketing company making those calls every few days. How can a police behave that way?

Got a call today.  They didn't leave a message but I called back and got a recording saying it was the Info. Line for IL Assoc. of Chief of Police - Automated System,

They're asking for support for upcoming programs they're involved in for this year.

Keep getting calls from this number, but they don't leave a message. Caller ID says it's a local area call but it isn't. When phone is answered they ask to speak to me saying it's a courtesy call. I tell them the person they're looking for is not available, but they won't leave a message. Different caller each time.

No one would ever give this guy money.  He's so obviously scamming.

They just called me, the name he gave was Brian Dashner, asking for the owner of the company I work for, stating this is a "civic matter". I hung up.

Received two calls from this number on my CELL phone number, which is NOT public!  Grrr.
I called the number back this morning.  It belongs to the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and the recorded message stated they are fundraising for some event. You can call their Customer Service number at 1-800-379-2098 between 9am and 7pm central time.

on my cell phone I can assign these numbers to a caller group, and give it a distinctive ring. I do not answer those with that ring. Learn that you DO NOT have to answer EVERY call

I finally waited and told him not to call back.  Next time I will give them a REAL piece of my mind.

Been calling me pretty much everyday for a week on my cell phone. No one talks.

Every day they call and I ask them to take our name off of their list.  They say they will but call back either that day or the following day.  Today, the person asked for the owner and I told him I asked to be taken off of their list.  He said he didn't know what list I was talking about and still needed to speak with the owner.  He was very rude!  They are soliciting for a "police" department - doubt it!

Get a call from this number same time every night. When I pick up no one talks. Called back and it is some sort of association line asking for money for the police department.
