I have read some of the posts below to find out who Beneficial is for, I, too, received the weird text message stating "Beneficial Frozen" .I have no dealing with Beneficial or AT&T.  I've owed my cell phone number for over 15 years so the Text WAS meant for me, I guess, but WHY, I don't know?  I will just delete it and if I get another one I will have to look further into it, I GUESS...:)

got this message 4 times now when i call says press one and then enter your card number even if you don't press one still goes to where it asks for card number its a scam and is very annoying

2/24/13, 2:11 p.m. got a text from 1sts@vtext.com, message: "(California CU) Call: 216.310.0133. Your immediate attention is needed."
2/24/13, 2:32 p.m. got a text from 336280003@vtext.com, message: "(DCCU) California.C.U. account suspension. Call at 6306168912
2/24/13, 3:08 p.m. got a text from 33628003@vtext.com, message: "(DCCU) California.C.U. account suspension. Call at 8474851444."
2/25/13, 1:34 p.m., got a text from 203@vtext.com, message: "(Extra) [Call at 530.616.8912] California C.U. issue"

Clearly, this is scam!!!

... can someone please tell me how I can stop these texts? I have no business with these people with these #'s. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

I almost called as it arrived at nearly the same time as a legitimate text from verizon confirming a payment I made...coincidental timing almost got me.

Txt from OCCU that account has been suspended and to contact 847 485 1444

Have gotten calls from this number and # 512-215-6297.  Do not bank with any of these people and do not have any credit cards so not sure what this is about.  I am on the Do Not Call list.  Please stop these people from calling.  Please get the authorities involved. Very annoying.

Same issue.  Multiple texts same message about CU California.  SCAM!!!

Who is this and what is this about?

Two texts in the same minute:

(B note) "Urgent" California CU Starting With-4254-16 Issue .Call at 8474851444

(A CCU) You Have Issues On California.C.U 425-416 Card. Call at 847 485 1444

I've received 6 texts today within the last 30 minutes. How do you get it to stop?

I called Verizon and they took all the information to investigate - I received 3 txt messsges - 1st to call - immediate attention needed - other 2: acct suspended -- all from "california cu" - I don't have (never had) an acct with California cu - scam!
Report all msgs to your phone carrier & donotcall.gov - report as scam

Verizon - forward txt msg to 7229 - you'll get a msg back - reply back with the original # that was sent from to you

I am also getting these messages and anyone without a data plan is being charged for them!  Who can I report these people to?  Verizon sounds like they couldn't care less

Texted me about debit card (twice)

I keep getting texts from some version of ####@vtext.com saying its from First-Choise Credit Union or FCCU.  I looked up First Choise (note that its not First Choice with a C) and i can't find a website for them.  It just keeps giving me the 847 number and telling me to call and that there's an issue.  I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

I got the same message 2 days in a row. Don't know who or what they are & hope this isn't a daily thing. No one should respond to this message.

I got two within minutes of each other.. one said B E N E F I C I AL   I S S U E S  and the other B E N E F I C I A L Frozen.. same number as above... ??? Puzzled but SO not calling.. Lol. Be cool it know if you guys come up with something..

I got the same text, called the number from another phone (just in case it was a virus or might do  something bad to my cell), and there's not even a dial tone.  I did, at one time, have a loan at Beneficial Bank, but it's been paid off for 5 years, so they have no reason to contact me.  My guess? An attempt at a scam of some sort.

I got a text on my phone from 4729100@vtext.com that said

I'm sick of people using up my minutes with trash. I think I'm wasting my time even writing this. I have turned in different numbers since the "No Call" went into affect and have heard nothing from it.
Anyway, I keep getting calls. The number today is: 847-485-1444. It's been 20 years since I was involved with AT&T, if as some have said was an AT&T number. I find it hard to imagine them trying to do business with the testing.
