Appears to be an scam phone number. tied into Chase Freedom, they are sending out bogus return check cards for payments made and then stealing checking account information for auto debit. Some don't auto debit.

Chase USA bill collectors, subcontracted to India. Chase ROYALLY F----d me on a Credit card years ago. Now by law (had to get a lawyer) I pay in a comutation. It's still like 30% (BELIEVE THAT?) and the amount will not go down any time soon. I pay them 'when I can' A cancelled CC is 'last' on my priority list. (but oh my gosh, it may effect your credit score) WHAT CREDIR SCORE?? LMAO!!!!
Nobody has good credit in this country!! You, me, and how many million others are so screwed by this? Hell, Our own country can't pay it's own credit and debt. Isn't it well in the 'TRILLIONS' right now? And who do we owe the most... CHINA! The biggest Cominunist entity/country in the world! That should make us 'scared'. So my friends, don't be alarmed when a 3rd world country (OUTSOURCING-jobs lost - hello!!!!!!!) calls looking for money. If they can't pay their $hit, why should we?

Yep its Chase, they are calling me about 6-8 a day with a a few different numbers
Sami 2011-11-29 04:50:00 Unknown
It is not Chase. This is a scam run from India to look like it's out of the Chicago area. With today's economy it would be simple to trick folks into thinking it's legit.
Don't be fooled........

Chase Bank does not know how to properly deal with it's lower end customers (the ones who do not have a checking account with them, but have their credit cards with them, the reason why these people do not have checking accounts with them is because their service fees are way out of line). Approximately four years ago, I had multiple Chase credit cards, almost always paying the entire balance every month (or paying very close to the entire balance otherwise). I tried to use one card at that time, and it was rejected. All my Chase cards were rejected. Upon calling them, I was given the reason that it was an "administrative decision". I did get letters stating that the decision was based on information obtained in a credit report. I got the credit report and score. Apparently my credit score, even though it was in the "Good" range (about 700 in a range of 650-720 (at that time)) was not good enough. After about two years, two cards that were owned by different banks, had come to be owned by Chase. Almost immediately, they lowered my credit limit to the point where it was lower than my balance owed, resulting in "over the limit fees" which they would not remove or justify. I stopped paying them, and have since incurred more unjustifiable "fees". Enough is enough.

I just spoke with Chase Customer Service. They tell me that this is NOT one of the phone numbers.

Its Chase Card services. They called from several numbers and left no message over the past month (never answer numbers I don't know, just look for a message if its important). It was actually to renew an automatic payment I setup that expires after 12 months. The rep was very considerate, I just wish they would leave a message saying its them and their intentions. Its not a scam, they had all my information on file already. They should not have to ask you for your account information.

Contact the FCC - www.FCC.gov - file a complaint immediately on line.

Got a call today from this number. I am filing a complaint with the FCC right on line. If you have not used this resource for handling wrong collector calls, then it is worth your time to fill out the information. You can use the data found here to complete your FCC filing as it asks you what information you found about the caller. http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

They call me like six times a day, it probably costs them more to pay the guy calling me than they would get if I actually paid my bill.
Pretty sure this is a legit Chase Credit Card Services phone number, because I totally didn't pay my bill this month.

Chase - Credit Cards
Received calls using these numbers: 972-512-9501, 847-488-3003, 866-881-6222, and 877-302-4273
Kathy 2011-06-29 18:06:13 Unknown
They have a gazillion numbers so you won't think it's them every time. Tricky, huh?
mickey 2011-06-29 16:17:39 Unknown
Yes, it's legit. Chase does have a huge card services facility in the NW suburbs of chicago at I-90 and Randall Road in Elgin that is in the 847 area code. I know many people employed there and they do have their collections department out of that facility.
Sandy Smith 2011-06-23 15:23:21 Unknown
Dont know who this is!
Po Po 2011-06-22 20:02:03 Unknown
Called the number back after they called my employer looking for me. The woman refused to answer questions without first getting my account number. She said it was Chase card services and she was calling from India. I hung up...
Karen 2011-06-21 00:30:37 Unknown
847 IS a valid area code in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Elgin, where one of Chase's call centers is located, is within this area code, and many phone numbers within the city of Elgin DO begin with 488. However, I do agree that this is a scam, and should be carefully monitored and reported when these calls do come in, especially if you do not have an account with Chase.

I have been getting 10 calls a day from these guys. I told them I lost my job and would not be able to pay them until I got another job. They said no problem, but still call me. At first it was friendly reminders, then it became harassing phone calls every hour every day. I finally got fed up and got a new phone number from www.StopHarassing.me and forwarded all of my creditor calls to that number. LOL now they hear the same message over and over again. I hate to do that but they wouldn't understand what I was trying to tell them. Now the message will.

I don't have any credit cards, just a credit line with Wells Fargo. This is obviously a scam or a solicitation that is not observing the DNC registry.
K 2011-06-06 21:00:28 Unknown
I don't know whats going on with this. I got a voicemail today, a fast talking woman with an Indian accent said something about Chase and an account. Couldn't understand her even after replaying it several times. I do not have an account with Chase but my husband does. It is current, no chance of a late payment like another poster suggested. Chase would not have my cell number for his account anyway. I do however have a very common name and my cell number is all over the internet because of my job so I am thinking that if it really is a collection agency, maby they are looking for someone with the same name as me? Don't know, but there is no way in hell I will be giving out my social security # over the phone to find out. That is just insane to do something like that unless you are absolutely positive who you are speaking with. I would have to say that if you suspect you may be in collections, and you get a strange call, dont give out your ss#. Call your credit card company or whatever company you think it may be related to and speak with them directly before proceeding. Better safe than sorry!
