I have been receiving calls from this number 847-592-8544 the caller ID recognizes the number as the only the electric company. This has been going on for weeks, today I happened to be home and answered the phone. I followed the prompts stating to have my electric bill account number ready to give to the agent when my call is answered. When the agent finally picks up my call she states the she is working with a company called Power Choice and wants me to give her my account number. My first question to her was were is their main office and what is their physical address. She the tells me that they are located in Chicago, IL. and continues to try and avoid the physical address of their business. She then tells me it is against their company policy to reveal that information. Right then I knew it was a scheme to steal my account information. I instructed her remove my number from their directory. She hung up on me. If you have receive a call from this number or you do receive a call beware they are a scam company trying to steal your information for profit.

Received a call from this number at 9:02PM 5/1/13, past the time they are allowed to call. Caller ID shows Client Retention. I was not home and they did not leave a message.

Tell them that the number they are calling is a cell phone and you live in an out house behind the Qvickee Mart. Tell them you have no need to lower your interest rate but if they would like to come out and lower the (effluent) level in the out house then you'd call it even. Them taking ***t off you for once.

I suspect these calls might target people with health problems -- because I started getting them after complaining about triple billing and some altered electronic and paper medical records by two providers in Maryland and DC, and was told by two privacy officers that such was allowed (tho illegal there and in Virginia) because of their political clout. Both providers we/are United Healthcare affiliates. One big-clout attorney that United Healthcare as well as GE used a decade-plus ago is Jamie Gorelick, who invited Eric Holder to become her partner (he left to become U.S. Attorney General, and has several times over the past year-plus, as I've complained about the situation, promised to resign and return to private practice, but hasn't). FYI United Healthcare did change the name of its computer hacking affiliate from the easily googlable Ingenix when I contacted MD's AG as well the HHS Office of Civil Rights (which chose not to act, as the insurers/providers promised it wouldn't). Yesterday's target phone number is in Illinois--and it turns out my dad's doc, whom I thought was just with Blue Cross, is also a United Healthcare partner, with similar billing schenanigans.
BTW, all these numbers are on the do-not-call list, but the medical debt collectors out of a conglomerate technically based in Atlanta (sanctioned by the FTC in another incarnation) say they don't have to follow the DoNotCall list law, because they're partners of the providers and insurers. BTW2--its not just an Obama/democratic party thing--the insurer/provider "privacy officer" whom I later learned was in California said that Virginia's republicans protect them the most! And Senator Grassley too didn't bother acknowledging my package. "Don't ask, don't tell" plays both parties--that's what unlimited big bucko corporate contributions are supposed to do.....BTW3 The FCC delegated DNC enforcement to the FTC which delegated it with respect to health care debt collection (the majority of complaints) to the HHS-OCR, which does nothing either because it's staffed by provider attorneys or because its zero budgeted by Republicans or because that's what United Healthcare and the rest of the health insurance/provider/pharma oligopoly want. Phew!

Look,,,if you are getting calls from:
Card Services
GE Security Systems
Mortgage Protection
>>>> Listen,,,this is the SAME group of people and it's an ATTACK on a certain group of people who are on a "list". If YOU are being called YOU are on "the list"....Immediately you are asking yourself,,,,'why me,,,what did I do?'......Well let me explain.....This group is operating with immunity. There are people that claim the FCC is too busy to track down all the telemarketers,,bla bla bla....Well there aren't that many since the "Do Not Call List" was put into place....On the other hand, this particular group is ORGANIZED and doing anything they can to gain personal information on you....Imagine if you allowed them to actually install a security system in your house!!!!!......They are using MULTIPLE phone numbers over VOIP and they have been reported to the FCC by MANY MANY people. Merely because you report someone to the FCC does not mean anything is going to happen. ESPECIALLY under the Obama administration because guess whose list you're on???
Since I have figured this out and posted this allegation elsewhere, the phone calls and types of calls have increased SIGNIFICANTLY. The calls don't really bother me because they are calling a phone I can easily get rid of,,,but I have my reasons for playing along.....But aside from that,,one way you CAN get under their skin is to simply keep them on the phone as long as you can....Let them talk all the BS they want....Pretend to be interested and at the last second call them a derogatory name and hang up.....You should report them to the FCC even though it doesn't do anything because eventually Obama will be out of office and then justice can be served.

Recording says "did you know you qualify to lower your mortgage interest". An unwanted caller with a robocall machine hoping to sucker someone into yet more information for them to sell. The truth is that if I want a lower mortgage interest rate I certainly won't depend on unknown callers for this service. My Bank, probably.
Caller ID says "client retention". It is now blocked by our blocker.

Got the same call twice and they never left a message. I'm sure it has to be someone asking for money. When I get a number I do not know I just let the answering machine take care of it.
