Somebody said sometimes this number calls with an FBI alert message about breakins, and sometimes it is the car warranty. Did anyone else get the FBI message? I was also wondering, did anyone else get a whole bunch of US mail about car warranties? Because I get those ALL THE TIME. And they come in enevelopes marked like they are very urgent, and I know my Lexus dealer would NOT harass me like this. I get like 10 of these letter a week. Anyone else? Please?

Called my google voice number on 10/16/13 at 3:17 PM and left an automated message, the beginning of which was cut off. This is from the transcription service that google voice has (I fixed up most of the errors, but I'm not sure what the "hired" part is since it was cut off in the recording and that's what google thought it was):
Hired and should be reactivated to protect you against the cost of repairs. If you have not responded to this notification, it's not too late. Please don't make the mistake of driving without a warranty. You are still eligible to reactivate warranty coverage. This is the final call before we close the file. Press 1 to speak to a representative now about your vehicle. Press 2 to be removed from the follow up list.
Most likely a scam. I don't own a car and haven't in over five years. They are now blocked.

I received this call in the last 20 minutes of a college lecture and forgot to turn off my phone (yeah horrible timing with the only good news being I got to see my professor dance to "everybody dance now"). Turns out that it is a car warranty thing. I received this call 2 years prior and I opted out of the calls (or so I thought). Funny thing is I don't own a car and have never owned a car yet so... yeah it is a scam and apparently you can never opt out of getting these calls.

I am an international student and her voice is like so quick, and ask me about the auto warranty, I am confused what that is. And is the call from a fraud? thank you~~

I wish there was a way to make them stop, but the true caller is just a robot dialer that starts calling numbers, say from 801-222-0001 to 801-222-9999 and it doesn't know who you are or if your number is even a real number until you answer it. They often spoof the phone number in Caller ID to make it show any number they want it to (you can easily do that if you call from VOIP phones) and they are often calling from someplace in a different country.

Phone-spam from 847-592-8825. The robot left a partial message on my voicemail, I heard "do not miss out on this valuable offer" before I deleted it. All you guys who didn't answer are smart.

I get at least 25-30 of these everyday. There are 2 different robo calls going around. The one about the car warranty and the second one is the fbi...................... Does anyone know how to get these to stop. They keep calling my place of business and they are really beginning to annoy me. It is like every 15-20 minutes that I get these calls. If anyone knows how to get them to stop, please feel free to let me know.

Got a call from 847-592-8825. Didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number. I don't give out my cell number, just use it for family.

Received a call from 847-592-8825 on 10/14/2013 at 11:19am EDT. No caller ID info was displayed. Did not answer and an automated message was left.
From the content of the automated message it appears that it was another one of those "auto warranty" scams.
I have added the number to my Google Voice block list.

My cell phone got called from 847-592-8825 at 11:00 AM EDT today. I did not answer the call. Thanks to this forum, I know to not answer if they call again.

This number seems to be a fraud. When I call it back I'm asked by Robo answering voice to press the number1 if I want to place this number on the do not call list.
| jill 2013-10-12 05:54:36 Unknown |
Called the number back and I got a recording that says " if you would like to place your number on a do not call list press one"

Sometimes it pays to be a hacker. Time to program a voip dialer to perpetually ring these jerks back ad infinitum.

The robo-call is the precursor for a screening callto find out if you have a car eligible for extended warranty coverage. You are asked the year, make, and model of your car as well as it's mileage. I was told if my 2006 car had fewer than 140k miles and my check engine light was not on, I was eligible. Yippee!!!
I was then transferred to a broker who proceeded to ask questions about my car - oh, wait.... didn't they already have that information in the first place?! That's what I gathered from the robo-call!! And I was told during that robo-call that this was my 2nd and final opportunity!! But the calls keep coming...... Oh well.
The company behind this marketing ploy is Guardian Extended Auto Coverage and they are a broker for any number of companies selling coverages. Don't let them scare you into purchasing something you probably don't need!
