I got a text from the number listed and they said I'm Shautaun and who are you. I said you have the wrong number and they said they didn't.

I JUST GOT A CALL FROM "FERNANDO" FROM ICS. I DON'T OWE ANY MEDICAL BILLS.
WHY ARE THEY CALLING?

Same thing happened to me, they keep calling me and leave no messages.

I also got a call from this phone number this morning at 8:25am.  I hope more people read my posting.  If it's a bill collector, you simply say "Cease and Desist."  According to the law, after you tell them to cease and desist, and they call you again, they are in violation of the law.  

Also, bill collectors tap into your phone records (I have no idea how), and they search for your most frequent calls, and they call those contacts and leave messages that you need to call them. It's so illegal, and I don't know how they get away with it.

Also, legally, they cannot leave any messages on your voice mail, or contacts voice mails, about the nature of the call, unless they talk to you personally. Also, by law, they are required to identify that they are from a collection agency,

Best thing to do, if you cannot pay the bill, is to say CEASE AND DESIST.  And then end the call. Don't let them engage you in any type of conversation.  

I am not a lawyer...just had a lot of unpaid medical bills. I finally bought a book dealing with bill collectors, and it explained what the laws are in regards to bill collectors tactics. You can also report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB.com) and list your complaint.

You might also want to register with the governments "do not call list registry"  and you can google that page.

male voice answered the call back with; "ICS"  lists out of Barrington, IL

This call is from a collection agency. They said they were collecting on a hospital debt from 4 yrs. ago. I know my hospital bills are up-to-date at this hospital, so I have no idea how they obtained this information. Very scary.

I had a similar experience. They called my house phone looking for my daughter who is away at college. Would not give me any information and was very rude. When I saw this posting it puzzled me. My daughter has no outstanding debts, medical or otherwise. All her medical bills go through our insurance.

They called and would not say where they were from. It was a woman who said her name was Sheila, but was calling for my sister. When I asked where they were calling from, she wouldn't say. Then I called back using *67 and she answered again and didn't give a name of the company. I said I had the wrong number and she said no you don't, we just called you and I asked where she was calling from again and she wouldn't say. Very rude woman.

They are a collection agency called ICS - I believe medical collections in Illinois
