I'll get right to the point and then explain what's going on.

Elite Windows and Siding is spoofing their Caller ID number.

What's spoofing?  Spoofing is the practice of purposely sending false Caller ID information to the receiving phone.

How is this done?  It's very simple.  Most new business/commercial phone systems have a field where you enter the phone number that you want displayed for Caller ID.  Honest businesses put their correct phone number in this field.  

Why do I keep seeing someone posting information saying this number is NOT Elite Windows and Siding?  This person works for Elite Windows and Siding and is trying to mislead consumers.  They know the number doesn't go to them because they purposely chose a number that is out of service.  They can stop this false Called ID data from being transmitted at any time.

Who really cares?  The FCC cares.  Here's how to file a complaint.

If you have caller ID and receive a call from a telemarketer without the required caller ID information, if you suspect that Caller ID information has been falsified, or you think the rules for protecting the privacy of your telephone number have been violated, you can file a complaint with the FCC. This is Elite Windows and Siding in Rolling Meadows, IL.  They came to the house and got basic info, but I said I'm not interested. They continuously call from (847) 963-2003, but when you call back it says the number is disconnected. Get calls every other day and don't know how to make them stop...They are pests!!!

YES 847 963-2003 is from Elite Windows in Rolling Meadows.  Never had a problem getting called from this number until after they came to the house asking if we wanted free quotes.  The first few times I did pick up when 847 -963-2003 called and it was them.

I've been getting calls from this number repeatedly at all hours.  I know it is Elite Windows.  I have filed complaints with the BBB and Gov. Do Not Call List.  Re-filed complaints recently.

Calling 2 - 3 times a day never leaving a message so we don't know who is calling

I keep getting unwanted calls from this number.  I tried to call back, but I get out-of-service msg or phn disconnected.

I have recieved two calls from this number.  They ask for my husband by name and when I say he isn't available and ask who is calling, they hang up. I tried calling the number back right away and I get a message that this number is no longer in service or has been disconected. Caller ID says from Palatine, Illinois.

Keeps on calling, asking for my GF (she gave them our phone # when they were going door to door!!!!!!) and then hangs up when I ask who it is.

I read the other messages as well.  My caller id only says "IL caller" so it looks like they may have several lines.  We're in St. Charles, it appears they're moving their target areas often.  I wonder why they choose to recall only certain persons?  They called on Jan 28th @4:39pm.  I won't block it and will keep track for anyone else interested.

This caller has repeatedly called after we've requested to have our number removed from their call list.  Very frustrating.  We're considering legal action....

He HAS called 8 times trying to get us to buy windows will not take no for a answer so he keeps calling back!!!!!!!!!!!!
