Same complaints as everyone else...seems once one of these people get hold of you, 5 others are right behind. Will do my part and contact FCC. Thank goodness for this website. Helps to know others are fed up with this invasion of privacy.

My CallerID indicates a call from this number at 2:05pm CDT on Sep. 14, 2012. Display also indicates "NAME NOT FOUND". Of course, I would not have picked up receiver for this strange number even if I were home.

phone rang 3x and then disconnected..I did not answer and it didn't ring long enough for the machine to pick up.

"you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it). And do not answer name unavailable ever as calls are now starting to say that often.
Let me explain my idea of robo calls. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). The program starts calling every number that it can in succession. So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site.
Nothing is going to stop these scammers and lazy collection agency who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective.. DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.
So, just block them, don't answer unknown calls, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls. If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back. No problem. Its alot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, and making my own excel spreadsheet of numbers) but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.
Its our life and we need to take it back.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533

NO! They took the job and I am on the DNC list. If they call my number, I report them INCLUDING the person's name whom I speak to. If they are stupid enough to give me their REAL NAME, COMPANY NAME, & COMPANY ADDRESS then they deserve EVERYTHING that they get,
It is illegal to contact someone on the DNC list!!! When you do, you can be arrested and charged criminally. The company knows this and they inform every one of their employees. That is why most will hang up when you start asking their company name & location. But I do a back trace on the phone call and get all that information as well as recording the phone call.
Then I send ALL this information to the FCC DNC service and assist them in the prosecution of the company and employee.
If you call my home phone with a telemarketing call, YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!!!!!
I don't care if they are a single parent with 20 kids or just a single person without kids or a spouse!

Received a call from this # today, 9-14 @ 10:51A Central time. Call came thru as NAME NOT FOUND.
Phone only rang 3 times. I've reported this # before. When I tried to call # back after blocking my #, got recording - "your call cannot be completed as dialed".
timbob 2012-09-13 23:06:26 Unknown
F... no, I have no sympathy for people who take the jobs and harass people with telephone scams.
MeBeUbe 2012-09-13 17:35:44 Unknown
If answering the phone shows them the number is active, than how is that any different from letting ring until the answering machine picks?
bleego 2012-09-13 15:14:18 Unknown
This particular call you are speaking of is for diabetes, low back pain, heart conditions, it pretty much runs the gamut. I think they call random numbers, the girl that called me, supposedly Elena said it was a private comapny after I asked several times who the comapnay was, no name given of company.
bleego 2012-09-13 15:11:03 Unknown
I asked nicely for them not to call me . I explained I was on the DNC. The guy with broken english said to me,"Oh shut up you are hurting my brain" and he hung up. This is not the first time I have been disrespected by these telemarketers. So my answer to you would be no I can't anymore. If that is the only kind of job you can get is scamming people, then go apply for welfare and food stamps. I'd stand on a street corner with a sign telling people I couldn't find a job and needed help before I did that.

Received call at 10am, ran halfway through the house to get to the phone. As soon as I answer they hung up.
Comcast Customer 2012-09-13 02:28:26 Unknown
Comcast really should add more than 12 numbers we can block. Like 12 is great, but my cell phone can block unlimited numbers will the Call Control App.
Pissed 2012-09-13 00:25:33 Unknown
Not Available. So much for the DNC list. Another government agency at work.
yungshing 2012-09-12 20:56:57 Unknown
No, because every time I have started to politely ask to be taken off the list, I have been disconnected in mid sentence. I now also "give them the horn"...

treat them with respect - Hell NO!
Mick Jarl 2012-09-12 18:55:52 Unknown
The area code you called is in the Dominican Republic. Because you called them back, your will be charged for a long distance phone call and the owner of the telephone number will make some profit on the telephone call. This is the scam. Always check the area code before returning a call.

849-963-4589 - these people call every day! What a pain!
Kathy in St. Louis 2012-09-11 22:06:15 Unknown
Actually, no. If it happened once or twice a week, perhaps. But 10 -15 times daily, no. I understand that times are tough and people need jobs, but I just don't answer, so I'm never rude. However, that doesn't keep me from resenting the intrusions.
Lee 2012-09-11 20:40:29 Unknown
I know a woman who was very poor when working her way through PT school and had to take a job as a telemarketer - she hated it but it was the best she could do - do you think you could treat these people with respect and compassion when you let them know you're not interested?
VickyB 2012-09-11 19:45:53 Unknown
Just had a call from this # but didn't answer it. Decided I'd try to call the # back to see who it was & received a recording that said this # was no longer in service. Go figure. It has to be a scam.

Listened to enough of the message to know they were calling seniors on medicare that had diabetes and didn't know their supplies were covered. Don't know why they thought that applied to anyone at my phone number because it doesn't. Hung up after only listening to a few seconds.
