What I disliked the most about the call (no one talked, was silence on the other end of the line) was that they called before 9 am., waking my 93-year-old mother.

did not answer, as I am concerned I will receive a charge.

Didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number.  thanks for the information.  Maybe someday someone will heed our gripes.

What really concerns me is that the call detail on my phone bill says Incoming: Vietnam!

Now we have fraudulent telemarketing devils calling from the Dominican Republic offering Medicare diabetic services!  Rite-Aid or CVS must have sold them my home phone.  I don't have either Medicare or diabetes, nor does anyone in my household.  This a call that must be blocked.  Report them to the DNC and BBB.  Who cares!  Cancerous scammers.  Considering the expense of calling the U.S. from the Dominican Republic, some U.S. company must be paying them a lot of money.

Thanks for this tip!  I called the Office of the Inspector General and reported a call from this group to a 'real live' operator who took the company information provided below. The operator #10448 also provided that fact that companies are NOT PERMITTED to OFFER FREE PRODUCTS to be paid by Medicare.  Only your doctor can prescribe products and then submit Medicare claims.  

JUST SAY NO to all calls from "American Seniors Assistance" and their pass through group "Direct Mail Advertisers" ...  The phone # this morning was 849-963.4855 ...

The people of the Dominican Republic are known to be excellent Major League Baseball players,however their talents concerning the English language and scamming of senior citizens is questionable!

Same thing happen on my  call/caller ID...and when called back; got hung up....number is unknown, and not valid if you try searching for it...all the above applies to this number that other replies state here!!!

Just another boondoggle to receive government funds (from their pals) while doing absolutely nothing!

Or just lay the phone down without hanging up which ties up their line for a while.

they called this morning and again about 10 min. ago.  (same phone #.)  caller id showed name unknown.  after 2 rings, they hung up.  I do not answer any calls that say name unknown<> I let my answering machine do the answering!!

Even though my phone number is registered on the Do Not Call list, I received a call from this number. It was identified on the screen as "unknown caller".  I do not pick up calls from unknown callers, but my answering machine picked up and the caller hung up at the tone.  I deeply resent having my privacy invaded. This needs to be stopped!!!!!

Verizon also lets you block all numbers saying"This party does not accept calls from this number." Scam against seniors

Received a call and after their recorded message was given the option to speak to a person which I did.  I informed them that I was on the National do-not-call registry for 7 years and was going to report them.  Told them that they need to check the registry before they call people.

This number keeps calling, Please put a stop to these kind of calls.

Received call from this number. Caller hung up after 5 rings, used *69 feature to get the last incoming call.

No additional information other than call time @ 10:15am EST.

Please add this number to my do not call list.

Good idea.  I normally don't pick up any calls that I don't recognize the number or name.

they called palm springs this morning.  so they're still at it.
