!ost annoying to me is that if you try to,block their calls via call screening on your phone service, it comes up,that you can't block them. I am inder the max numbers I can block so it is not that.

Have received repeated calls from this number--as many as three in one hour. Pressed "2" as instructed to stop calls--still receiving. For some reason my phone does not block this number. Finally I held on to speak to a real, live person. When I complained about the repeated calls, she simply hung up on me.

Calling about "Urgent Medicare diabetes information".
Number is located in Dominican Republic, obviously to get around many's no international call blocking loophole.

I have Magic Jack. I run a program from PCPhone soft that I can block thse calls. It's funny becuase it rings my phone once with a designated sound (ring) just once, then hangs up. It allows them to complete the call then hangs up. However, I had this turned off today and the call came in. I did answer but after they said "good day sir..", I stopped them and said someone was at the door and I was expecting a deliver and please stay on the line for a minute. I muted the phone, walked away and left the phone onhook. 4 minutes before the idot realized I punked'em. I did turn the app back on. But it was funny make them hang on.

Keep receiving a recorded message regarding diabetic supplies.
Porkchop 2013-02-01 01:09:34 Unknown
You are whining about unwanted calls, now you are whining about having paying to have them blocked.
I now have them on call block & glad to pay the price for some tranquility.
The ''Do Not Call list'' is a government program and you think it works?
Get a life..............Sheeeeeeeeesh!!
minnie 2013-02-01 00:27:16 Unknown
Calls but does not leave a message. Please track this number and try to prevent it from calling. Thanks.
anonymous 2013-01-31 20:56:48 Unknown
several calls from 849-963-4857 regarding senior citizen and diabetic medical supplies. when push "2" to be removed from their calling list, someone says "hello" and then you get disconnected before you can tell them to remove you from their list. these people should lose their jobs for disrupting other peoples' lives and it can't happen soon enough to satisfy me.

Try the Panasonic KX-TG1061, it blocks up to 30!
Sally 2013-01-31 20:13:03 Unknown
for the next ppl, go immed to fcc.gov & file a complaint. they WILL get back to you telling you they are investigating. let our government do it's job. the # of these calls i get has decreased since i started reporting them.

Last time I looked at the globe the Dominican Republic was still in the Caribean and Canada was still North of the USA.

These telemarketing calls are so annoying and constant. I have received several calls from several different numbers. I am listed on the Do Not Call registery but it doesn't help. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a ploy from the telephone industry. Next the Telephone companies with be offering and automatic block... for a small fee.
Alan 2013-01-31 15:13:02 Unknown
I just received a call from that number. I did what I usually do, press "Talk" then immediately press "End" cutting them off. I'll try pressing several numbers next time before hanging up. The DNC list is a good idea, but doesn't work on robo-calls. These people need to be stopped.
DixieChic 2013-01-31 15:07:18 Unknown
God a call from this number. Whoever it was hung up after 3 rings.
Shari Reece 2013-01-31 03:15:14 Unknown
Don't know who this is but I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number and they left no message. Very annoying.

Aarp member here. I quit answering my phone months ago. Also keeping a log, but since most of the numbers are spoofed it won't do any good until someone makes the phone company trace for us without having to get police intervention. Police are to busy to worry much about phone calls unless a threat is made.
I also wait for a period before posting here in case the bottom-feeding, scum-suckers are watching these list to target what number we belong to.
As far as Aarp selling names, heck some of the states sell their drivers license lists. Not hard to get a number in this day & age once you have a name & address.

Did not answer since Unknown Caller on caller ID
sickofseniorscams 2013-01-30 15:44:22 Telemarketer
I answered this call this morning. It was "American Seniors Assistance" by a person with an accent, possibly Latino. Said they were able to provide free assistance and products to seniors on Medicare and with conditions like back pain. I asked her again for the name of the company which she repeated. Then asked her where the company was out of. She replied,"We are located in Fairfax, Virgina." When I asked her to provide a street address, she hung up. Then I called the number which was on caller ID and got the recording "This number is disconnected or no longer in service". The area code appears to be Dominican Republic.
This is a scam preying on a vulnerable sector of the population! Do not give these criminals any information. We are getting a lot of these and I intend to continue to try to uncover information that may tell me who they are. Different "masked" numbers from all over, it seems. BEWARE.

I did not pick up; looked at strange # on caller ID. Dominican Republic calling Florida? Impossible--have NO contacts there.
