"name not found" showed up on my caller ID

they call and if your answering machine answers , they don't like it  and they leave a loud beep....and hang up. they are running a scam. homeowner beware!!!!!!!

I receive calls everyday from this #. Don't want their calls. Ido not answer since"name unavailable". Know no person from this area. This is harrassment. Something needs to be done now.

Listen people: The Do Not Call Registry is run by the Feds. Same one that will be running Obamacare. Same one that is giving our social security to illegals. Forget them. Most cell carriers will allow you to block any voice or text. If you have Sprint just punch *2, and you can learn how. It's easy. If you want to do it at your phone, save the number to you contact list and assign NO RINGER to it. Won't ring, and very few telemarketers or other strange calls won't leave a message. For those that do, you only have to take a second to delete the message.

I didnt answer when a call came through with this number. I looked it up and it is from the Dominican Republic.  Unless your phone plan allows you to call International, you won't be able to get through when making a return call.

Just received a call from 849-963-4858 2-1-13 at  4:26 p.m.  Let answering machine pick up and they left no
msg. Actually, they hung up after last ring just as answering machine came on.  That tells me they are TeleMarketing and not allowed to waste any minutes.

I got a call from this number this morning. I didn't answer and no message was left. I, too, am on the Do Not Call list. Really Annoying when they call early in morning. I thought there was a time span like from 10am until 10pm they could not call but they call all the time anymore. Caller ID said Dom Republ Call. I don't answer any number I don't recognize & blocked this one this morning. I don't punch any numbers either. May be transferring call out of country & you will be charged for the call. I was told this by my phone carrier over 2 years ago. They had it happen to a couple of their customers. The DO NOT CALL LIST is a JOKE! Been on it for years & like someone said I get more calls now than before. Also, be aware if you have cell phone which most people do. I rec'd following text message on my little Tracfone that only about 10 people should have the number. This is a scam also. I called Netflix & reported it to them.

We're on the Do Not Call list and I'm constantly reporting calls with recorded messages.  They aren't stopping!  Being on the list used to help, but there are two scams that it just does not stop.  I don't understand why they don't go after these people.

I am so tired of getting calls like this.  Today call from 849-963-4858 came and no one was on the phone.  What is the purpose of them making this call?

I received a call from this number and got a recording that gave the option to be removed from their calling list. You are then directed to a telemarketer. They ask you if you have Medicare and if so they ask a few health questions and of course you will qualify for something they offer if you have any medical conditions. Anyway, I got to that point and asked the girl if she could call me back because I was in the middle of something. Actually, I wanted to investigate the origin of the number....So during my search, I found this site, which was very helpful

After reading, I have come to realize that it is indeed a scam and the person on the other line is actually going to ask you for your social security number so she can properly bill your insurance ect. It is an attempt to steal your identity!
That being said, do not answer these calls!

Called today at 3:45 PM. Hung up when answering mach. picked up.

Got a call again today 2:09 PM.  Caller ID says NAME NOT FOUND.  Ask about seniors with diabetes and press 2 if you are not !!

Two calls in one day.  Left a message offering to lower the interest rate on my non-existent credit card because of my excellent credit record - just press 2.  Annoying!

1/31 @ Noon - rang twice and hung up when answering machine picked up.  Random robo dialers and they have no interest in removing your number.  They did not call looking to have number removed...they called, you answered and now they know it is a working number with a live person attached and will sell it to other scammers.  Do not answer unknown calls.

This is not the NRA, it's spoofed by some sleazy marketing group. I know this does not stop the calls, but at least you know.

Well they call and leave no message. They used to call a real number here but now they call my fax line. Caller ID is UNKNOWN NAME. True scammers at work.

Plays a recorded message looking for those on medicare with diabetes or other health problems. If you try to talk to them they just hang up.

If you are not on the DO NOT CALL list you should sign up. Then you can report calls like this and in time the calls will become less or stop. Any call that plays a recorded message is illegal if you don't know the company.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago, said HELLO twice, nothing on the other end.hung up and hit reverse call to see what I could come up with!

Get calls from this number every few days. Rings a couple of times and stops. Tries to call back and it said I couldn't  submit number as dialed. Just found out here that it is the domican republic.

Yes, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason here.   I just got a call from a number in New Jersey that has the same reputation online.   Called and left no message.    This seems to be some kind of new thing in the world.   I don't recall getting these kinds of calls in the past, and not two in one day on separate phone lines! I just hope this isn't some kind of scam where they are calling to validate the call to number and then strange charges will appear on the phone bill next month.    This doesn't seem to make sense for any legitimate reason.

Call from 849-963-4858, no message. Had previously blocked 849-963-4854. My phone will block 30 numbers but we are getting so many telemarketing calls that the block is full. I am now erasing the old numbers to make room for the new.

I have never belonged to the NRA.  I'm not sure why I am being called by these fools.

I just got several calls from this number in the past week.  I have never belonged to the NRA, and I am only 35.  If this is a robocall from a business they are required to list their name in the callerid.

This number appeared on my cell phone.  I answered "hello," but no response.  Tried calling number back but got a recording that the number has been disconnected.    

Interesting thread about senior care and the NRA.   I belonged to the NRA years ago, and they probably have this phone number.    My number has been disconnected from a land line for 7 years and then reconnected recently.   All the calls are either wrong numbers or telemarketers that have the number from very old records.     I too am not anywhere near retirement age, but am on all kinds of lists for AARP and senior citizen products.     Willing to bet that the NRA sold my number, and it is just a marginal telemarketing firm buying cheap, old phone lists from the NRA or AARP.
