I bought a hand-held air horn at my local marine store. I just press 1 (or whatever they tell me), then wait until I get a live human voice on the line. Then... HONNNNNNNNNNNNK!!!

Don't know how much that rings their bell, but I like to think I'm getting my money's worth.

The people of the Dominican Republic also excel in the production of cigars,but as I can see by your post they still have not learned all the talents of scamming. Be thankful they have not yet learned the skills that their American counterparts have! Or is it possible these callers are using a spoofed number and are unskilled American scammers?

The people of the Dominican republic are known to be exceptional Major League Baseball players, but their skills concerning the English language and the ability to scam people are both questionable. 849 963 4853-----849 963 4857----and 849 963 4865 are other numbers they are known to use in their weak scamming efforts.They should study some of the methods used by scammers here in the U.S. to learn some of the finer points of scamming! I would be surprised if many people have been taken in by their pathetic efforts at cheating people.

Every morning for the past week or so I have received a call from this number. Very annoying. It only rings 3 times instead of the normal 6. I do not answer it. Since is seems to originate from the DR , I wonder if there is anything to be done???

Yet another call from this number.  Reporting them AGAIN....

This number called twice in past couple days. We do not answer any phone call we do not recognize or without a name or indicated as unavailable and do not return calls period.  They are wasting their time calling me. Bunch of criminal idiots.

This is the third time this number has called.  I know it is from the Dominican Republic.  What good is the Do Not Call list?  Doesn't seem to work.

These people cal and cal and call.

Claimed to be from "American Senior Assistance" in Fairfax Virginia.  Would not give address or phone number of company.  Hung up when I said I was on the do not call list.  Caller ID said D Republic Call which is likely not a real company either.

Got message machine and hung up.

Called me about 4-5 times in a row.  I finally answered and they wanted to know if I was Delta Dental.

Do what I am doing.  Register on the Do Not Call Site.  Then as each unwanted call comes in send a complaint to the Do No Call Site.  As of today I am now up to 81 complains of unwanted calls from Telemarketers.

Like I said before if we all start doing did maybe just maybe the Do Not Call will do something to clip their wings and give us some relief.

I noticed in the past week these calls have decreased.  Give it a try. Can't hurt can it?

i have caller id.  so why do these jerks keep bothering me.  thank goodness i don't have  an

I am receiving so many calls from this number,It is so tiring for people to be allow to harass .It needs to stop.regular citizens would be jailed .This is so unfair.

Nope, no magazine connection.  Only change is retirement and  tests for knee pain.  Not even on Medicare.

"Do-Not-Call" doesn't work, it's a government program.  You can take responsibility for your own quality of life by obtaining call-screening & logging software and NEVER answering a caller you don't recognize.  If the caller deserves it, block them in your software and you will never have to deal with that number again.

I use CallClerk and a cheap USB modem.  The call log provides evidence for legal action or, for the terminally hopeful, for complaints to the FTC/FCC/BBB/your State Attorney General/your Congress Person/ETC.

The number 849-963-4864 calls almost everyday 4 to 7 times a day.  Just like all other post no one on the other end when you answer.  Leave it roll over to the answering machine and they hang up,

I've started filing complains to the "Do Not Call" page since February 1, 2013  So far this month I have sent 75 complaints.  As each one comes in I take a few minutes and sent the complaint on line.  

Maybe if we all band together and file complaints daily as they come in to the Do No Call they just might be able to pluck the feathers off of these Vultures.

Getting a few calls from them every day. I pressed 2 to get off their list like the message says. The call was transferred to some young lady told her I want off their call list and she hung up without saying a word.

Caller ID says "D Republic Call".  I have had these before and never pickup.  They never leave a message.  You can believe the good folks on this board...it's a scam.

Why is not the FCC controling these unwanted calls  lord knows they re into all sorts of other issues

I ALREADY POSTED A NOTE - BUT WANT TO AGAIN.  THIS IS MY 2ND PHONE CALL AND I'VE PROBABLY RECEIVED MORE THAN THAT.  

I FINALLY GOOGLED WHERE IS AREA CODE 849 AND IT IS FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - SANTO DOMINGO.

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DEFINITELY DON'T ANSWER UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMEONE FROM THERE ~ AND I ALSO SUGGEST TO BLOCK THE CALL.
