I have been receiving calls from this phone number and threatening messages that I have saved on my cell phone from this number listed above.  They talke with a heavy indian accent and threaten me that If I do not pay the amount that I borrowed within a certain amount of time that I will be very, very sorry, and that he will not be responsible for what will happen to me and my family.......Then he says I wish you all of the luck because you will need it......I have never borrowed money from anything online.  He states that money was deposited to my account....First of all I would know if Money was deposited to my account and I made several calls to my financial institution and there is no such deposits ever made!  I have been receiving this call at my job, they ask for me and threaten me on the phone.  This has to stop....They do not let you ask questions, they just talk over you..If anyone has information on who or where I can report this...please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it..

I received my first call today 9/07/10 & caller I.D. says "unknown number" I spoke with a "Jeffery Stewart."
He almost had me convinced when the battery on my handset gave out. While I was letting it charge up, I tried going to the American Legal Services llc website, and saw all the warning notices about this so called legal firm. I had been told that I still owed money from a CashNet loan I had taken out.
They said I would have to go to court the next day at 10:00 if I didn't take care of it right away. I asked for something in writing but was told I could only get it if I went to court. But it would end up costing me legal fees and I could get 60 days in jail!. I told Mr. Stewart we don't have debtors prisons in America and if it turned out that I did indeed owe the money, I would tell the judge I would pay it with my next check.

I rcvd 3 calls from American Legal Services LLC or at least that is where he said that he was calling from. He said that he works for a Legal firm at 201 South Siera ST Citrus Heights California 95621 and they have a location in Florida as well. Last night he said his name was Kevin Foster and Attorney and today he said his name was Dan Thompson, another attorney. He said that I am being sued for Fraud etc because I took out a loan from Quick Cash and the money was put into my account and I have not paid for it.  When I told him that I have never taken a loan from Quick Cash he said that I need to take care of this matter or I will have to pay over $5,000 when I lose the case in court. HE was extremely rude and a very strong accent. He knew my e-mail address and where I bank. When I asked for the original loan papers from this so called Quick Cash he said that if he sends them I cannot settle out of court. I told him that I am not sending any money and I wanted the phone number and address of this quick cash and he could not give it to me.

What do I do?

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

By the way, here's just a small sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors
By Leslie McFadden ? Bankrate.com
Monday, Aug. 3
Posted 2 p.m.
Bankrate reporter Leslie McFadden contributed this entry.
This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
?    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
?    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
?    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
?    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

I got the call from these people.
They told me about my case and provided me a reference number and provided me the website also.
I logged in to the website of this company with the help of the reference number and able to get the information regarding this case.
I owe $988.35 and paid full amount . And now the status is changed to resolved .
Today i got the complete papers regarding this loan .
I am very much relaxed that i was able to resove my case.

thanks

just received a call from this number on my cell and work phone threatening legal action for activity on a website call CashNet. They claim I received money from this website and I have no idea what they are talking about. The representative name is Kevin something, he has a very strong accent and very hard to understand. I don't owe any cashnet company anything. He said I was being charged with fraud and I don't know what else. I have never been involved in any fraudulent activity. These people calling can barely even speak english.

I got a call (at my work number) from a guy (Dan Thompson) with such a heavy Indian accent I could not understand what he was trying to tell me, even when he tried to spell out words.  He claims I owe $786.87 and like other feedback I just read about this company, that I need to call immediately or contact an attorney, and if I don't call, good luck. When I called back, I got so aggrevated trying to understand what Mr. Thompson was saying, I asked if there was someone there whou could speak clearer English...he reluctantly connected me with another person who had a heavy Indian accent and at least I could understand SOME of what HE was trying to tell me, but at one point I asked for someone who speaks ENGLISH and he told me HE was speaking ENGLISH...I told him I got that, but I still couldn't understand what he was saying...but did understand the website he told me to go to, and went to it...www.americanlegalservicesllc.com.  He gave me a login-in reference, and sure enough, when I put in the info he provided, there was my name, SSN, street address to my home, amount owed, Mr. Thompson's name, and it says Case Status: Under investigation.  Also, there was a letter to download, but I could not get it to open...could be my computer...am going to try it on another one so I can see what the heck this is about.  I don't owe this money as I know of.  He said something about "Quick Cash"...??
