Another in a series of over 200 calls from this company. Always report them to the Do Not Call List, but since the numbers are always spoofed, not sure it does any good. I'm going to buy an air horn to blast in their ears when I get a live person.

850-3861643 - automated message about my credit card's interest rate being lowered, and that the offer was about to expire. Reporting to donotcall.gov.

Received a call from the 850 386 1643 from Fla....I'm not sure this works but I do it
all the time; if I don't recognize the # and pretty much know its a scam call I pick up the
phone as if I am going to answer; I hit the ### button numerous times and hang up...they say this may
confuse the computer and bounce out your #...Has anyone else tried this?

The scammers using this number have "spoofed" our home phone number for their calls. The first 7 digits of their number is our number in our area code. When locals victims call back to complain, they get our number if they don't dial 1 first. We're getting 20-30 calls a day. I have researched a bit and found that the number is linked to Embarq Florida Inc, apparently a local Tallahassee phone company. I also understand that you can reach the scammers toll-free at 877-317-6098. They will answer saying "Quality Assurance" or "Account Services" but will not give any info about their company. They'll hang up when they realize you're calling to complain.

Got a call as well, when I told they guy that I was in the process of reading online that this was a scam he became very defensive and told me to check with the better business bureau. He gave a company name of Visa-MC.org... does not exsist! He wanted to call MY bank with me on the phone to verify my information!!! Told him no thanks and that I would investigate further!

This number calls me CONSTANTLY. As with others posted, NO message. Yes; when I called the number (via a private number phone, of course!) I get "this number no longer in service"
They are calling my CELL phone (which costs me minutes) AND that number is on the Do Not Call list.
With all these postings/complaints...why isn't a public agency doing anything about this??? (I'm really glad this website is here...I was going crazy wondering who was calling!)

These tele-maggots search for victims using auto dialers. They're looking for the elderly, the mentally impaired or those that are otherwise young and stupid.
•Don't hang up when their auto dialer calls you...that makes their job easier.
Their time is valuable and they can't afford to waste it talking to people who jerk their chain.
•Next time they call press #1 to speak to one of their scam reps.
•Punk these a-holes for as long as possible. Tell them you have a credit card with a large balance and want your interest rates lowered.
•Don't ask the Rep any questions because they'll know you're not for real.
The name of this game is to waste as much of their time as possible. Be creative and make stuff up as you go along.
I do this with the auto warranty telemarketers as well.
If you're really good, you can keep them on the line for 10 or 15 minutes.

left a message saying last chance to lower your rates
PJ 2011-06-06 21:00:33 Unknown
Recorded message about lowering credit card rates. Press 1 to be connected. When connected, I tried to get them to take me off their list and they just hung up. Attempts to call back has a bogus "This number is not in service" with a fake disconnect signal.

I recieved a strange number on my home phone - I have registered my number for
DO NO CALL

This person became angry and vindictive when my roommate told them to stop calling for the second time in less than 15 minutes. The same person called back from 213-321-6218 and told me that she was calling from a state agency seeking child support from my husband for his unborn child. She must have thought that my roommate was my husband and that she was going to cause problems for him. I'd like to know how they get their number to come back as "not in service" when I try to call them back.

string them along. waste their time. ask all sorts of really really stupid questions. then when they have enough, they will hang up on you, and list you as a waste of time and remove you from their call list.
this does work. i do it all the time.

MY EMPLOYER HAS BEEN RECEIVING MANY CALLS ALMOST DAILY FROM THIS NUMBER. MY STAFF IS BEING CONSTANLY HARRASSED BY DIFFERENT CALLERS. EACH TIME THEY CALL, WE REQUEST TO BE PLACED ON THE DO-NOT-CALL-REGISTER TO NO AVAIL. DO NOT ACCEPT THESE CALLS. THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT YOUR PHONE SYSTEM TO COMMIT FRAUD – ALWAYS FIGHT TERRORISM!!!!!!!!!!

Just got yet another call from 850-386-1643. I received a call from the same company but a different phone number yesterday. Yesterday when I pushed 1 the phone rang forever, today a live person picked up and explained that they can lower interest rates so I told her I am not interested but may I speak to your supervisor? She promptly hung up. 386-677-3110 is the number from yesterday. I looked it up like I did for this number, most have reported to Do Not Call but Do not call isn't doing anything to stop these people. I have also been told to contact the Federal Trade Commission.

I've been researching several numbers that call my home phone of 6 years. All of my accounts are in good standing, so the calls are getting old to say the least.
I ran into one idea that I am quite fond of. This may not "stop" the calls, but would certainly make one feel better. Get an airhorn, and without speaking, just let it rip into the phone. Good for a laugh at least. Make light out of an otherwise frustrating situation.

Call from Tallahassee Florida, prerecorded message says "last chance to lower credit card rates.
Called number and received message that number not in service.
Messages received about 3 or 4 times a month.

Another in a series of over 200 calls from this company. I always report the calls to the Do Not Call list, but since the numbers are always "spoofed" I'm not sure how much good it does. They're obviously unable to stop them.

up until a few days ago these subhumans were using the number 386 677 3110. they use a new fake number every few weeks. too bad most of the public is too stupid to do their research on these guys.
jon boy 2011-06-06 21:00:33 Unknown
this is the same credit card scam recording I've been getting for at least five years. If you people are tired of being called by Ran David Barnea you might want to visit him at one of his properties in Boca Raton at 21955 Cypress Drive apt 48F and ask him to stop calling you. Run his name through zabasearch.com and see how many properties he has. One post describes him as a short guy who wears a yarmulke---just so you know who to look for. The only way to handle people like this is to put their home addresses all over the internet!

I have received numerous auto-dialed calls from this number with the message about lowering my credit card rates. On several of those calls I have used the option to talk to a live representative with the intention of asking them to put me on their do not call list. They have always disconnected the calls without acknowledgement at that point.
Wally 2011-06-06 21:00:33 Unknown
I'm at the point where if my caller ID shows "unknown name," I simply don't answer. I think it's useless to report these calls to DNC. The DNC list gave us a few years of peace from telemarketers, but it was only a matter of time before the cockroaches obtained the technology (for spoofing numbers) to intrude on our lives again. Somebody now has to develop the technology to fight back.
Paul 2011-06-06 21:00:33 Unknown
Obnoxious harassment. Non-working number. Definately needs to stop taking into consideration that my phone number is on the do not call list.
carolyn 2011-06-06 21:00:33 Unknown
constant - at least 2 times a day - no answer when I do pick up. Annoying as hell!!!
