I have filed for a dispute with my bank. I have looked up the address given by him and found that the address is to a Catholic evangelistic organization. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and hopefully he will get s*** for it. I am so thankful that this site exists, and that all of you have put this info available to all. Recieved call from this #, stated that a suit was going to be filed against me if I did not send payment. I asked them the original accont # for this debt. They had it and the last four of my SS#. I am either stupid or gulible, or both. I sent payment in fear that check fraud would go on my record. The next day I got a call from the original purchasers of the debt and was instructed to send payment. I told the fellow that I had already gave them payment through my bank card. He told me I was had, so I looked up this number and found this site, which I am thankful for but wish that I had found it sooner. I then filed a dispute to regain funds, and am going to receive a new bank card. I would suggest to anyone, when you get a call stating that you are to send payment for a debt, search the number online, instruct the person that you will do an investigation to see if the company is legit, and if so you will call back. If you find out that they are fake, I am sure that after you told this to them, they will not call back. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice...lol. Good luck!

I received a Voicemail from them stating that I need to call them back because I'm being investigated for identity theft and will file paperwork in my county if I do not contact them. Sounds like a scam to me!

I had just received a call from them stating I owed for a for a loan that was paid in full 2 years ago. Stated this was the final attempt before they would contact my county's law enforcement......plus who calls from a Florida number and has a MO address this is nothing but a SCAM!

I just recieved a call from this firm called smith and rosenberg and the gentleman stated he was from the summons division of the firm. trying to collect on a payday loan that is not in collections. I told him that i have reported the phone number to be investigated and he hung up in my face.

Said they had the last 4 of my social security number and wanted me to call them regarding fraud before it was turned over to my county for processing.

Just got a call from them for my husband. First said they had cases pending against him and were looking into identity theft, then tried to extort money from us. I don't know if they are the same Smith and Rosenberg that were recently kicked out of Georgia for fraudulent debt collection practices, but it seems to match the MO. Report them!

They are attempting to fraudulently collect a debt that has been paid and harass my family members!
