At 10:31AM, on Thursday, October 10, 2013, I received a phone call from this number, (850)438-3174. The identity was unknown. When I responded by answering the phone call, no one responded on the other end of the phone call. I repeatedly answered by saying "Hello" but no reponse.

Got the same thing yesterday from these bozos and against today with a VM.

The number showing up on your Caller ID is a fake number placed there illegally by the company responsible for these calls in ord4er to make it meaningless to report to the authorities (and also why you can not call the number back).  They also add an extra digit or two or a fake name, like "David Smith", for the same reason.  They rotate these numbers weekly, sometimes daily.  Also, they will never give you any information about their real company identity (name, address, phone and fax numbers, etc.) until AFTER you have given them your credit card info (which is another one of the many laws they are breaking) so they can zap a $900+ charge to your card.

The Florida-based company responsible is either American Debt Negotiators (using their call-center company PHL Inc.) and/or IXE Accelerated Financial Services.  Thousands of complaints have been posted on dozens of internet site over the past year about these two Florida-based scam companies.  Just Google their names and see for yourself.  You can also go to www.heatherwithaccountservices.com for a lot of good information on who they are and what you can do to help stop them.

I'm sick to death of all these calls .  they use different #s...  some leave a wild message others nothing..  I no longer answer calls from numbers I don't recognize and my answering machine is full of this junk. my answering machine now tells them I'm a registered DO NOT Call number, but it does no good with recorded messages that you cannot talk to

Got a call from the number above on the caller id it said the call was from pensicola, flordia. I just hung up,

They called me yesterday and I am on the do not call list. What is wrong with these people?

Gotten a few calls from these jerks with messages on my machine about "don't be alarmed" yada yada. Today I picked up and pressed 1 for a live person, connected to a person who said the company was "card services," I told them to take me off their list, he said "no" and hung up!!!!

Wanted card information.  I asked for the supervisor and the response was "I was calling just to bug you up.  You got a problem with that?"

Same thing got a call, told them im on the Nat do not call list.
The guy said "Did you pay for that?"
not sure why he would ask me that its none of his business what i have or havent paid for what matter is i AM on that list.
Im going to research this as much as possible and will post later if i find anything out.

Got a call from this number at 8:32PM 14 Jul. Didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. Caller id said Pensacola, Fl. From what I read it looks like some type of scam. These guys get around. I am on the National DNC list.

It doesn't help to pres 2 to be removed from their call list. Tried it. When I finally pressed 1 to talk to a live agent to tell them I am on the do not call list, he said there is no such thing (whatever). Decided I am going to get a police style whistle, and keep it by the phone. Fight back!

Oddly, I probably have no grounds for complaint. The 850-438-3174 solicitor is blanketing this area with calls, but has never called me. On caller ID, thats how the number shows up, no "1" for long distance access. Without the "1", the phone system treats the dialed number as a local number, strips off the last 3 digits, and calls 850-4383, which is my cell phone number. I get a half dozen calls a day from people in my area code who are trying to return the call from Pensacola, FL, nowhere near here.

on 07-17-2008 at 10:42 am received a call from-850-438-3174. the called ID showed Pensicola Florida and the the number.

Receive a call from 850-438-3174. I was not home but I they left a message on my machine saying- " Wrong Number, have a nice day"! The day before I received a call from 850-478-2651.

Message states this is the last time for you to lower your interest rates. I have received this auto dial recorded message numerous times and am unable to speak to anyone. I am on the National Do Not Call list and am disgusted that I must put up with these calls.

Just received the 3rd call this week.  Played the game as many of previous posts have indicated.  Press 1....yada yada.  Getting really frustrated because I was being bombarded with extended warrenty calls a couple of months ago and now it's about lowering interest rates.  My story is just like everyone else's on here.

Got a call this morning, at 10:36 AM from Pensicola, FL with the 850-438-7434 number.  There was a recording stating that this would be the last attempt to call (they never called before) in regards to lowering my VISA credit card rate.  Then they tell you to press one to talk with a representative, or two for more information.  I pressed one.  This tough sounding guy said "are you ready to lower your interest rates?"  I said, "No, I'm wondering why the heck your calling me." and he immediately hung up.  I tried to call the number back (pressed redial, so I know I got the same number) to give him a piece of my mind, and it said it was a wrong number.  Then I knew I was phished and scammed.  Damn creeps! I hope they get caught!

The reason the telemarketer asked did you pay to have your name put on the do not call(DNC) list is the state of FL has thier own DNC list that you pay $10 to register and $5 every year to be kept on the list. They say it is for help pay for costs to enforce the law.  It is no wonder these companies call from this state; the AG will only enforce the law if you pay them.

I received a call from Pensacola,FL and it was a message regarding "your account". How can we stop these kind of calls?

come on people it's a game, you just got to play.  kept getting calls from thomas l. cardel @ 319-730-4171 some where in florida.  never anyone on other end execpt once.  but before they could get started telling me their scam i immediatedly told them i was glad they called, because i was gay and was just getting ready to beat my m..t and it would be nice if they could talk dirty while i masturbated.  never heard from them again.  they would call some times as much as 6 or 7 times a day, been four days now no calls.  so when you look at your caller i.d. and reconize the number just start right in and don't let them get a shot at you. they'll go away.  remember dirty...

I have reported this to National and Tx registery MANY times.  They call sometimes multiple times during a day.  Sometimes only once a week.  Any one know if it is a fallacy that when you pick up the phone if you dial "0" it will kick your phone numger off of the computer????

they just called me like 10 mins ago...i have gotten calls from them before but usually im not homje and they dont leave a message.  this time I was online when they called.  either way---good to know they are a scammer.  if im homje when they call next i think im gonna play with their mind a bit...perhaps speak german to them...good times.

On 8 July, 2008, I received a call from one of their other numbers, 850-478-2651.  I only answered it because "Pensacola, Florida" appeared along with the number and I thought it came from a legitimate cell phone number as I have relatives who live in that area.  It was a recorded message about extending my car warranty.  They did give an option to press "9" to have your name removed from their list. However,  I heard no sound when I pressed 9 and I fully expected to get more calls from them.  Well, just now I received another call from them from 850-438-3174.  This time I did not answer and will be filing a complaint today in hopes that it will help to get rid of these fraudulent, illegal calls.

The number 850-438-3174 has been on our caller ID for several days.  We haven't been home to answer the call.  When I tried to call the number back it said that the number had been disconnected.  I called AT&T and talked to them.  The operator said that tele-markerters used numbers like this all the time.  I am on the do not call list but what good did it do.  I hope that we eventually get to talk to them.  My husband can be "not very nice" with people like this.
