I've been getting calls for about 2 months now, at least 3 times a week from the ones who are concerned about my credit card account and now they're suddenly warranty specialists. I never answer my home phone because nobody I know calls me there anyway, so I wind up with all these messages on my machine. I have one on my machine now about lowering my credit card interest and another one about warranty coverage on my vehicle (nevermind that both of my cars are well over 10 years old and warranties are long gone. Seems like any legitimate company would know that). The interest rate lady has been saying for 2 months that this call "is their final notice."
I don't have caller ID on my home phone, so I don't know what number is showing, but looks like it's the same people who are bothering everyone else here. I'm also on the DNC list.

about 3 or 4 times a month i get the same call with an invalid (spoofed) caller ID with prerecorded message with important news about my credit cards and how to consolidate, press one to speak with someone. pressed one so i could ask who they are- they say "account services" first few times i learned that they WILL not give you a call back # or verify anything about their company, aslo asked them to take me off their list as i am also on the DNC list, but they just hang up on me. (i also do not own a single credit card- never have and never will)
So after seeing how much it must be costing them to spoof the #, etc... I decided to try to keep them on the phone as long as possible in order to make them lose a few dollars, perhaps that will make them take me off the list...
The last time they called, i gave them a fake name and address, told them i was heavily in debt. when they asked how much, i told them something like 150k, but i wouldn;t know, i just keep signing up for credit cards... (haha) and of course they ask for the account #'s and all that and i ended up telling them, sheesh, i would have to find the bills. basically i kept putting the person on hold for i would say 20 minutes, faked that someone came to the door and i had to answer it... with all said, i kept them on the phone for about 40 minutes, and never gave them any valid info. told them to give me a # and i would call them back as i couldn't find any of my (made up) account info. the guys said it was OK- he would hold, as he didn't have a # i could call him back at... so i ended up putting the phone down and picked it back up about half an hour after that and he was gone. with that said i took up well over an hour of this guys time - and he didn't get anything from me.
since that - i have not received a call from them.

Caller ID Spoofing 850-456-1207 Solution 2007-07-14 18:45:36 Unknown
Caller ID Spoofing 850-456-1207 Solution. The Do Not Call Registry web site probably needs to be inundated with complaints about this as TOO MANY people are getting bugged and nothing is being done. I reqeust that you get on the DNC web site www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint. Its easy to do, tell evryone you know to do it as well if they get a call. Notify your local TV station and let them know about it (they probably have a consumer help line). Call and flood CBS 60 minutes and let them know about it. Someone needs to do an expose about it. WE CAN STOP THESE PESTS. The FTC will eventually have to do something about it if they get enought people calling.

The name and phone number on caller Id is fake. This outfit is using a service such as http://www.spoofcard.com/. Go there and see for yourself.
They can spoof their phone number @ name with a disconnected number in any State they choose. They will rob you in a minute.

Just received a call from this number with a recorded message promising to lower my interrest rate if I owe more than $2500. Gave me the option of #1, talking to them or #3, take me off list. Of course I pressed #3. I didn't feel like messing with them todat.

Since mid May this number calls me every weekday at 10:30 am CDT. Every day it leaves a different message on my answering machine. I think it's a scam & a fraud. One message was from a man with a stern voice who said it was "from card services with an urgent message about my account" and said it was imperative for me to call back as soon as possible. Instead I called the number on the back of the only credit card that I have and they said they never contacted me and my account is fine (I have a $5500 limit but only have $460 balance on the card and make payments every month on time). Another message was from an overly excited young woman who said I won an all expense paid vacation for 2 and needed to call back asap in order to claim the prize. When I saw the same phone number with a different message in a different person's voice, I ignored it. Then there was the message from a man who said he had urgent information to discuss about a family member who was stranded in Florida without any way to get back home to Wisconsin. WTF??!! All my family is right here in WI and nobody has traveled farther than 20 miles to work and back. And it continues. One time I answered the call and it was a recording leaving me a recorded message about a trip I won to Cancun. No way to talk to them unless I call back, which I won't do. I think they are just trying to get credit card numbers so they can make fraudelent charges. Beware, don't give them any info.

One more thing when I called 1-805-456-1207 it has been temporarily disconnected, figures... The police and the credit card companies don't seem to care either, guess its good for business
G 2007-06-18 22:34:44 Unknown
Had a call today from 1-800-456-1207 they said they were calling a to inform me that my Credit cards were about to increase my interest rate, and if I hold I would be connected to a rep. When he got on the phone I told him I was busy and could I get his phone number so I could call back at my Convenience. He just hung up. This is the third time they have called. After checking with my Credit card companies, I feel fairly certain this is some type of scam to get your CC acount numbers.
Gab 2007-06-15 14:06:10 Unknown

DANNY 2007-06-14 21:12:18 Unknown
LADY TRYED TELLING ME SHE COULD GET LOW % ON MY CC .. WHEN I ASKED FOR PHONE # AND WHAT COMPANY SHE WAS WITH!! SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! SAID HER NAME WAS CLADEANA SMITH!!! I ASK HER IF THAT WAS LIKE JOHN DOE SMITH AND SHE SAID YES!!!!
Tony 2007-06-13 04:12:35 Telemarketer
(850)456-1207 is a disconnected number, so they are not calling from there. These tricksters are obviously faking the caller ID information so that the origin of their calls cannot be detected. This is called "caller ID spoofing," and it is becoming popular (look it up on wikipedia.)
I am on the Do Not Call list. When they called me, it was about credit card interest rates, but they seem to calling others with a variety of pitches. This is illegal telemarketing calls at a minimum, but it could be worse - a scam to get you to reveal your information over the phone so that your identity can be stolen.

I answered the phone and it was a recording about Cancun Vacation Center. I am on the National Do Not Call list. Isn't this a violation?
