Got a call  for my grandmother however refuse to talk to me? They said something about childrens fund? Kinda curios if they are targeting a certain age group?

Received a call from 850-564-1308 and the caller ID had Children Charities.  Did not answer the call, but it has to be a scam probably asking for money.  All of our phones, land and cell numbers, are on the DO NOT CALL list and have been for years.  But.........................maybe NSA checking on everyone.

if you are going to call my phone you need to identify yourself and what you are calling for..my god i have kids out there in this ol world ...ya can't call the nu. back.....had me scared to death......

Just got this call and have read the other comments and I am afraid the information people are giving regarding the Do Not Call list is not correct.  The Do Not Call Registry DOES NOT cover the following:
1.  Organizations or telemarketing services that the organization may hire to ask for donations.
2.  Political calls
3. Companies that you do business with or have done business with.(These can be stopped by contacting the company directly or in writing)

Registering on the Do Not Call list will not stop these type of calls and the only way to get them to stop is to tell them to remove your number from their internal call lists.  Unfortuneately this seldom works however you can report these calls to the FCC.

If you don't won't them to call you anymore then register with the National Do Not Call Registry - their website is www.donotcall.gov  this site will help you with receiving calls from telemarketers and etc but it does take 31 days to get on the list after you have registered.  
This is what the website states if the telemarketers, etc keep calling you after you have been registered - - A consumer who receives a telemarketing call despite being on the registry will be able to file a complaint with the FTC, either online or by calling a toll-free number. Violators could be fined up to $16,000 per incident.

It's worth registering - these companies don't want to be fined.

Either the government should not allow such names for businesses or all government services names should begin with gov or something so we know this is not from the government. I got a call, when I answered nobody was on the line. I called back only to get a busy signal.

Came back to see this number on caller ID, states "Child Services", no message left on voicemail; got worried at first when I saw it was a Florida area code as my nephews live in Florida.  I thought "Oh no, something happened to my brother and his wife".  Before calling them I am glad I found that others have reported this number as "solicitation agency" for donations.

I agree with the other posters, if caller ID states "Child Services" there SHOULD be a message left stating that they are requesting donations.  This was truly causes anxiety for people worried that something may have happened to a child they know.

Received a call from this # today and also one from 850-564-5001 a few days ago.  I answered today and they lady on the phone just said my first name.  I asked who it was and she said she was calling on behalf of Ohio Childrens Services for donations.  I think they should identify themselves on the answering machine when they call so that so many people aren't concerned when they see just "Child Services" on the caller id and have no message and only get a busy signal when they call back.

We received this call in the middle of the day - I work days, my husband works nights.  This alarmed my husband that something may be wrong with our children - He jumped up to get the phone then the phone when dead!  This is a disgrace if this is a scam contacting people using children services in the title.  This cause instant panic!  They should be stopped
