MO: Wanted to purchase 5 fans ASAP and rush them direct to Brazil. When I told him you must have a GADAR license to import into Brazil he said his forwarder, SWIFT, could immediately export them, and that he would pick them up at our factory.

Pushed for shipping dimensions and weight hard, and to expedite freight. Instead of quoting freight through our normal providers, was adamant that we quote DDP freight through his freight forwarder. We would NEVER do this and I told him.

Continuously pushed that we quote through his forwarder although I gave him all possible options.

I tried to call freight forwarder multiple times to put some sense into his forwarder, only to be emailed that "all of our lines are currently busy", please only email. Called freight forwarder line again only to hear an automated recording telling me that this "MagicJack" number was no longer available.

Received call this morning, supposedly from freight forwarder John Atkins, that sounded just like Thomas Lambert. Turns out the phone number itself was actually from the number of Thomas Lambert, although he identified the call as originating from the freight company.

We are skipping on doing business as this is obviously a fraud.

Right on! I guess you and I might be the only ones that picked up on the accent. Got your covered. It is Portuguese out of somewhere in Brazil, scam city royal.  They wanted to buy flooring of a species that is known to buckle and split in  their region. That is what first tipped me off. Then the shipping company sounded like a private home, and I could hear a television and kids playing in the background. They want to pay with credit card. I requested they come in and physically swipe the card. All bets were off at this point.

Did you ever run the card?  I did and it went through.  So now I am wondering if it is going to kick back on me.

I received an email followed up with a phone call for a large quantity of items. He gave me a Florida address, but wanted it shipped to Germany. It sounded scammy from the beginning. Hello. I just got my call from 850-388-8786 and the gentleman wanted 250 oil filters and he gave me the johnjohnson024@aol.com email address.  It was a poor phone connection and his accent was horrible.  I called him back but got no answer.  You have to get up real early in the morning to get over on me :-)  His phone number is from Magic Jack too. I am going to waste some of his time the next time he calls me.  I bet when I am done with him he won't call me anymore :-)

And now it's August '13 and he's still at it, same scam. He's either having marginal successes or is dumb as dirt~!

We just got contacted by this John Johnson, today  ! Our company's  owner said not to deal with this Johnson guy. Why such a large order for industrial fans ?

You know, think :   small , lower-profit companies like us can really get hurt by scammers like Johnson.....people's jobs and livlihoods are at stake.

DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION ....EVER !

Man, this guy just keeps going! Received a call today for very specialized exhaust equipment. John Johnson has no idea what he is asking for. Basically looking for the most expensive products he can find and ordering large quantities. He did not care about discounts or freight prices. He wants your contact info too. If you get a call from him, the best thing to do is hang up, or mess with him for an hour or so. I really tried his patience. JOHN JOHNSON IS A SCAM.

Guy just called us looking for a bunch of 14" diamond blades...doesn't even know what a diamond does but wants good business relationship.  It's pretty obvious its a scam careful for others like him that do a much better job we get them often in our industry.

Just got a call from him. Very bad accent. We sell refrigerant here and cylinders. When he stated he wanted a 240 lb. cylinder he said a 240 "L" "B". I was like what?? Hard to understand. First clue this is a scammer. I'm going to milk this guy.

Just another example of this same scammer (May 31, 2013).  Called ordering oddball quantities of everything that didn't make sense, bad accent, bad connection, etc..  Was asking for prices on part numbers that are clearly available on our website, and wanted me to generate a quote to email him at johnjohnson024@aol.com.  I sent him a link to this web page so he can read about himself.  Obviously, don't get involved with this criminal.

Received a call from John Johnson @ John & Company, very broken english, phone reception was horrible, he was wanting to order $8K worth of flow switches shipping to Edward Baker, Schwanthaler Strasse 75a, Munich, Germany 80336, he insists that we charge the card as soon as he gave it to me, I told him we don't charge till the order is ready to go.  Never did process the order, seemed like a scam when he wanted to use a specific shipping carrier that is charging a lot more than another shipping carrier I offered to use.  Never heard of someone refusing a cheaper shipping rate.  Play time, just like when telemarketers call.....

Wanted to order a present for his sister  - lots of noise on the line, foreign accent. He had emailed our customer service earlier in the day, so when I received the phone call, I already suspected fraud. We get these types of solicitations all the time via email - first time on the phone. He hoped I could spell John Johnson - ha ha. I said I needed an address in order to provide a quote. If you pronounce Grove Court - "Groove City" - you are not a resident. If you don't know that a zip code is five digits - hmmm. He was willing to wait on hold while I put that quote together - told him no, our system takes too much time to put that together. Sent him the email and let him know that we do not sell direct, only through our distributors and they require for high dollar items that you purchase in person with certified funds, no credit cards. I explained my reason for being cautious, hoping he would understand that in today's world of scams and fraud, that we could not process his order as requested.
He has not replied to my email.
