Have received calls various times coming up on caller id as out of area.  I have also tried calling back and am told its disconnected.  Sometimes when I manage to pick it up I get a dial tone and other times when they leave a message its about getting a better mortgage rate, as they believe my current mortgage ia a adjustabel rate, which is not the case.  I am also on the DNC list and it's very frustrating that someone can get away with doing this.

Computer caught this number this morning when they called (using Phone Tray - free program). Same thing, no message left on machine. Am now adding them to my growing list of numbers on my Call REJECTION service. If you have this service through your phone company, it's worth the extra money per month if you consistantly get these type of calls - After almost a year, I haven't had ONE call me back after putting them on the C.R. list.

Just now received an automated call from this number (850-626-1361) pressed 1 to see what it was about.  Offer of reducing my interest on credit cards.  I just listened and the nice lady asked me if I was still there. I replied yes. She asked if I carried balances on my cards or paid them off monthly.  I replied that I paid them off monthly.  She said she could not help me and said God Bless and have a good day and hung up.

Just received a call from this number (850-626-1361) at our home. It was an automated system at first, then you press a number to speak to a person, so my wife did. The girl said her name was "Shequana" or some such ghetto crap name. Couldn't really understand her. My wife informed her that we were on the DNC List and would like to please have them remove us from their list and the girl asked my wife for our number. My wife informed her that they called us and they should have our number. The girl said that it was an automated system and she couldn't remove it. My wife inquired about the name of the company and at first she refused to give my wife any info, then she finally said the company name was "Credit Services". When my wife once again stated that we're on the DNC list and to please remove us, the girl got very rude and told my wife "Next time, don't press 1, press 2 and it'll opt you out!" and then she hung up on my wife. Reporting this call directly to the FTC. This crap needs to stop.

Rcvd call from this number offering to reduce interest rates.  Caller refused to disclose company info. or remove me from their call list (we are also on the do not call registry).  Caller said "we are at a stand still" since neither would disclose info. and then she hung up.  I returned the call which stated that the # was disconnected.  I called AT&T who stated the phone# was an inactive residential phone #.  They could not explain how a phone call came from this #.  I also called my carrier, Charter, who said my caller ID was correct??  Reported call to Atty General and Federal Trade Comm.  Said they can't do anything unless I identify the caller!!!!

I receive calls from this number on a daily basis.  It seems the Federal "Do Not Call" list has zero effect as it is un-enforceable.

I was told (automated voice) that this was my last chance to lower my interest rate and to press 1 as "account managers" were standing by. As I pay interest on only my mortgage I know this is A PHISHING ATTEMPT. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM AT ALL!

Same as others but caller id reports name as Rebecca McAllister.  When "Magan" answered, she said the company name is Credit Services but she refused to tell me their mailing address.

What is the point in having a home phone registered on the Do Not Call Registry if the FTC does not enforce it?  The only effective option may be getting an unlisted number, which I have resisted doing to date.

This "company" has been calling me for months.  They called twice today.  It's pure harassment!  When I actually get a live person after hitting the number (today it was "9"), they just hang up on me when I ask them to remove me from their call list.  I just filed a complaint at donotcall.gov.

I'm in Memphis.  What other areas are they calling?

There is “ghost” or “shadow” number technology available that lets the person with this knowledge hijack any phone number and use it as the number that shows up on “Caller ID” when they are placing a call…
Since the authorities cannot help us unless we can identify the caller; we stand little chance on identifying these people unless we actually pretend to do business with them and then expose them once all their actual contact information is confirmed.

I get calls from time to time on a second line which I use for business purposes when I get to work from home. In the past they said they would put my name on the Do Not Call List. I got another call today so I hit "1" to talk to a representative. He said he didn't know my number and couldn't put me on a list. When I asked if I could talk to his supervisor he kept trying to sell me on lowering my interest rates. When I said I wanted to talk to a supervisor a second time he hung up on me.
There should be a special place in hell for these people.

Look people, these are a scam.  Scammers aren't going to respect the DNC list.  The best thing you can do (for yourself and others) is to make every attempt to identify who is calling.

I also recommend giving out fake information such as bogus SSN (check it first!) or garbage credit card numbers (again, check to make sure it's fake first!)  -- perhaps that can be used to track them down when they try to use this info.

Hey Ronin and RPCTMC...I found the *names* and address of the *person* the number belongs to...the number is a landline and a residential one at that, and the person the number *belongs* to is going by 3 different last names. Should I report those names to the FTC?This person could be knowingly allowing these people to use a disconnected number with that said technology that allows people to use other's phone numbers....any advice? Oh, and I've already reported the number to the FTC.

Received two in two days.  It appears they want to know if you have a balance on your credit card so they can "save you money" with their services.  If you do have balances, they'll ask you some questions and then tell you how much they can save you (which I'm sure is a lot of money).  Then inform you that all you need to do is give them some info like name, address, cc#'s, SS# (if they can get it), etc..  At this point they can either sell it or use it for themselves.  That is the only reason I can come up with for why they call from a disconnected number, only give out the name Credit Services (sounds familiar and reasonable), but no address, return number, etc.. They just disappear.

My guess is this is a lot worse than a simple DNC infraction.

I'm going to tell everyone I know to watch out for these guys.

From 'Milton FL', auto attendant offering to lower interest rates.  Pressed 1 to get to a live person.  I asked the company name and he answered 'Credit Services'.  I then asked the name of the telemarketing company and he refused to give me the name.  I asked a couple more times and then he hung up.  We're on the DNCL.

Filed a complaint with the FTC.  This is the second call like this tonight....very frustrating.
