Got these emails starting two months ago. All the same info, one email said he attached the court affidavit but there was no attachment. He just gave a court date of Feb. 5, 2014, no town or State,  DUH. I sent back an email stating I was in court but you were not, he then sent an email back within hours saying USA CASH's lawyer and recover agent were in the courthouse in Bradenton, FLA. I replied WRONG!!! I then sent him a list of all of these complaints where he used the same amounts of $$ owed and the same threats if  I don't pay him. He was told that I have an attorney and if he contacts me again I will Sue him and USA cash. Have not heard from him in days. attorney and if he contacts me again

I know of no debt collector that would send you an email in the first place.   All debt collectors I know of usually call or send you a letter through Postal Mail not email.....and all collection agencies will have their address along with phone numbers on the letter.  This email from CASH USA did not even have an address.  When asked for an address and to request documentation of said debt to be sent, I was informed that it was against their policy to release that information.  Also,I was asked if I had scanning available for a agreement of payment document to be sent by email to me, signed and scan said document and email signed doc back to them...really??? what agency does that???? Only a scammer does that!!!

yes, big time scam.  And I am sure that there has been quite a number of victims who been taken in by these thieves.  I was almost one myself if that little voice inside me kept talking to me to check on the internet.  Lucky I listened to that voice and did some checking.....ended up cancelling my card and having a new one issued.  Now I am getting emails from them that they can't process the payment.  I am just waiting for the phone call from them so I can inform them that I am on to them....

You can get all kinds of personal information on the internet for a small fee.  I've seen where for just as low as $10 you can get names, addresses, phone #, email and SSN.  For the right price, you can know everything about someone from their birth to present.  Real scary that anyone can get that kind of information off the internet.  I don't think that that kind of information should be available to anyone...

Yeah I thought so too.  How dumb do they think we are that we wouldn't check to see if they were a scam.  They weren't even bright enough to at least change figures...didn't think we would see that did they...

Same email and I was a bit worried until I talked to him he has an accent and said he will see me in court I asked him where is court going to be taking place he said florida and I will come get you to make sure you're there and I better have the money for someone who has all of our information he has no idea where we live cause its not florida. I called the the actual company and they sent me some paperwork to fill out through an email. They have scams like this all the time. He's claiming to be part of cashnet usa of course contact the government as well. But REALLY you could have picked a better name and the time you choose to send these emails don't you know we are a sports country and thats is not a common name

just returned from Thanksgiving day off and had the same email from "Blake Griffin" stating he was w/Cash USA a parent company of more than 400 cash websites .  Said outstanding debt was $686 (including late payment charges) penalty in the court $8526.35 and attorney and court fees $1500+.  good luck on trying to collect...this is a total SCAM...first off there are certain incomes than cannot be garnished and the IRS is not going to put your SS# on hold.  also they cannot inform your employer about any of this.....TOTAL SCAM

First thing, how does anyone know the mystery emails come from "Cash USA", which I would guess to be a payday lender? An email header is not hard to fabricate. My guess would be the source is a slimy third party debt collector, or a hustler posing as such an agency. The FTC regards them the same when  you're accused of owing some old account.

Debt collection performed legally in North America must adhere to a process in which you are given certain disclosures and a chance to dispute the debt claim. An illegal collector jumps you like a street mugger and makes idle threats, trying to distract you from the fact that you have rights. Which kind do you think this thread is describing?
