This is a plumbing and drainage company in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Once when I was out of town my 80+ year old step dad called them to come "unclog" an outside drainage line. However, the line is not clogged, it is broken. Water gushes out of the ground 25 feet from where the drain entrance is. That did not stop this company from charging a senior citizen $500 for doing absolutely nothing beneficial. And even though they are over 60 miles away, they keep calling back for a year now. I presume they are trying to get some more of that easy senior citizen money from my step-father.

It's ARS Rescue Rooter.  A heating, air conditioning, plumbing service company.  Often calling to offer discounted service or home care plans.   They're especially bad about calling folks that have used their services.

I have received phone calls from them (850-916-9139), too. Today alone there were 3 calls. They call, then don't talk, while I can hear background noises and voices.  Today I laid the receiver down for 4 min. and they were still connected when I checked on it 4 min.later. They stay connected and tie up your line until you hang up. My ID says the company's name is ARS; When I call that number, I receive a recording which says that "it's a great day at ARS Respirator" and "press certain numbers if you want to make an appointment or check on service, etc."

I used ARS recently.  They actually did good work repairing the A/C.  I'm not wild about the telemarketing side of things.  Had I known this would follow the repair I would have tried another company.

Once a week get a call from them, no one answers.  I think I may have used ARS in the past for something... but would never recomend it now...

I contacted ARS about 1 month ago because my AC stopped working in the house I rent (the landlord lives in another state and asked me to find someone).  ARS was recommended by a co-worker.  However, after they came out, they wanted my landlord to make a decision immediately about spending around $5000 to replace the AC unit.  He told them to just repair it for now because he wanted a second opinion.  After I made the initial call, I told them it was my landlord's decision and they needed to speak with him.  The following day (or 2 days later), I received a call from the salesperson asking me what my landlord intended to do...I told him that he needed to discuss it with my landlord.  He said that he had left some messages for the landlord but had not received a return call (um, hello...that should tell you then that he doesn't want to speak with you)...anyway, they only had my number to contact me to let them in the house...ever since then, I am receiving calls from the number (850-916-9139)...I would not recommend contacting ARS for anything unless you want to be harrassed by telemarketers afterwards!!

I've gotten a call twice from ARS in the last month. First time they didn't say anything. So I hung up. This morning (July 23, 2010) they called again...some lady, asked for my husband by name and I told her that he was at work, this is his wife, could I help her?
She proceeded to tell me that she was calling to get me on a schedule for my heating and AC maintenance. I told her "I'm sorry, we are not with YOUR company." She was going to babble something else at me, and I just hung up.
I did an Internet search on the number (reverse phone look up) and found out that:

The phone number of 850-916-9139 is a landline, provider is Bellsouth and the caller is out of Santa Rosa, Florida.

If this is a ploy to get business ... or a scam, either way...it's stupid. I didn't stay on the line long enough for them to request any money from me..so I don't know what they are running or pulling. But it sure makes THIS company look bad.
I was going to email the company from the website on this, but after I saw that they wanted everything but my blood type...I decided not to try to email them. I did call the "branch" here and told them to remove me and why and that how they were conducting business is not good - it sounds like a scam. But it's not going to make any difference

American Residential Services, L.L.C. (ARS), based in Memphis, TN has numerous local subsidiary companies. Company names include ARS, ARS /Rescue Rooter, ARS HVAC, etc. They perform HVAC, plumbing, air quality and other services. They engage in telemarketing. In my case, upon my declining services from a local company, my phone number was apparently given to whomever calls from the 850-916-9139 number. I have been getting hang-up calls on nearly a daily basis for many weeks. Autodialers sometimes appear to be hang-up calls but I have tried to answer so many times I feel it is more of a harassment initiative, which strikes me as very poor business practice.
