It is a telepoll for the republican party. Press 1 if you support Huckabee, 2 for Ron Paul, 3 for Romney, 4 for McCain and 5 for undecided. At least they didn't ask me to push 1 for english first, I would have hung up right away and changed political parties.

Called asking to vote against Gov Pat Quinn and new taxes for IL.
Herbert Goforth 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
Said they were starting a campaign for Lt Governor
Nancy Maloney 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
Do not ever call this number again. If I find out who you are I will tell everyone I know and NO one will vote for you again. PS: The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars carry a great amount of votes. Us "older folk" are probably the largest contingent of voters.

I received an SMS from this number on my Australian mobile phone saying it was from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (with whom I bank) requesting a call back. Maybe it's the number of a service that does robocalls/SMS's. 853 is the code for Macau, which is part of China.

Received a phone call on May 1, 2009. The Caller ID said Out of Area, and the phone number 853-958-9558. There were no messages, and I have no intent on calling this number.

4/2/09 7:01 pm.
Caller Id showed out of area. Recorded message was for local republican women's association, pushing their candidate in a local election.
Thanks for the spoofed number tip.

3/11/2008 no name on caller ID so I didn't answer. I instantly got a phone mail message after the call. It was a recording from Ron Paul asking me to join him in St. Louis for some kind of regional rally on March 27. I've been bugged by him ever since I tried to help during the primaries. I now get emails, calls and mail from all sorts of GD political organizations. He has probably made more money selling my contact info then I contributed to his presidential campaign!
How does one get Liberty from Ron Paul?

Somebody is texting me wierd messages, and i want to know who it is. The number from the sms is 85368008582
Carrie 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
They are calling me 3 times a day, nobody is there and then you call back and it says disconnected. If this is Ron Paul campaign then these calls did the opposite for me. No way will I vote for him after being called like this!!
annoyed 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
they've called 4 times in the past 2 hours and never leave a message
travis 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown

Mike 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
Called on my cell phone, during peak hours. That costs.
I am asuming it is political as I live in a state that votes tomorrow in 'super tuesday'.
I hate politics and politicians.
Marc Mazur 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
The call came from the Ron Paul for President campaign. It was a pre-recorded message. The state I live in votes tomorrow (2/5). Too bad I voted last week in early voting.
Annoyed in NY 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
The call came in at 4:51 AM. We didn't make it to the phone in time to answer so there was a message on our voicemail asking to vote for Ron Paul. When we tried to call the number back, our local phone company wouldn't recognize 853 as an area code, and kept dialing it as a local number which was reported as out of service. When we tried to call the number from the cell phone, we got a recording which stated that this was an "incorrect" area code. This appears to be some kind of hack, designed to harm the Ron Paul campaign. We live in a Super Tuesday state. A lot of people have been harassed in recent weeks by such phone calls supposedly originating from various candidates. Why do they bother? Is it not sufficient to steal votes electronically? Why bother with these phone hijinx?
donna 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
It is a number used by the Ron paul campaign.
It's too bad the scores of people who agreed with what Ron Paul had to say, would not vote for him because they didn't think he stood a chance of winning. If they had, he might be winning now. When people begin to realize the importance of giving their vote to the candidate that they feel offers the best solution rather than "the most popular one", or "the one that is the least objectionable", or "the one who has the best chance of winning", or "because he/she would be the first black", or because she'd be the first woman", we may just have a President that can truly save our country and restore our freedom.

Totally agree with you donna and for the person who hates politics and politician...you get what you deserve when citizen stop taking part in politics. You get tyranny.
Jason Flitcraft 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
Well said, Donna. I'm tired of this stupid mentality that says we have to vote for a winner. This isn't a dog race, for pete's sake.

Caller Type: Unknown
Phone Number Report: Caller ID reads: UNKNOWN NAME 853-958-9558 Hang-up call on 7-25-2008 at 7:30 p.m.
Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 853-958-9558 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.

Larry 2011-06-06 21:00:42 Unknown
I agree wholeheartedly with Donna and voted for Ron Paul during early voting in TX even though he doesn't have a chance. What happened to a government for the people? Seems like the media and special interest group own the government now........
