I just got a call from "Microsoft"  at 42000000000 telling me someone tried to hack my computer and he needed to walk me through a couple of steps. I told him that I felt uncomfortable with this call, and I would talk to other people more experienced with computers and get back to him. He got all mad, gave me his name, "Ricky" and his phone number as 855-203-7516 if I wanted verfication. He said I could call back and ask for him. I told him that doesn't verify anything. He asked me if I was 10-years old because I don't know anything and he wanted to talk to my parents. Our conversation ended in a few choice words and suggestions on my part.
He never addressed me by name. The phone was ringing when I answered, then he answered and right away told me to go to my computer. He was incredibly rude. I'm not sure what the scam is, but they are up to something.

Scam, unsolicited "help" for my computer. Numerous phone calls came from both "unknown" or 314-88888-8888, with nine 'eights.' When asked how I can reach them when I actually have time to take care of so many issues, was given this phone number 855-203-7516 x 1010, ask for William. Got to report them.

They contacted me 3 times in the same day. All the same story that as in previous posts here, Windows Technical Department, getting errors from my computer and wants to fix them for me. I led him on for about 10 minutes of discussion without giving any personal data. They gave me 2 different company names but always the same 855-203-7516 number. I assured him that I worked for the large telecommunications company and would be tracing the mapping of this phone numer and then the U.S. Attorney General would be coming to Pakistan to get him. He hung up.

Got a call from a man, gave an English name, but his accent was definitely Indian or Pakistani.  Bad problems on me computer, could fix remotely, remove all viruses, Trojans, etc.  Gave him access to my computer; talk, talk, talk about my computer check showing majority of my secondary programs had been wiped / erased, so computer could not work right & would get worse.  Would put a Security Program on that would block all bad things and fix all bad things messing up computer now.  When I him permission to do so, he said 2 year tech contract would cost $259.99 & would cover all three of my computers. He wanted to do transaction through my bank account, so I did - reason for the name I gave myself!  Took 2 1/2 hours for them to fix PC, showed me a list of sub-programs that had been erased by bad guys.  I didn't have time to do 2nd, main computer then; arranged date & time they would call back. They called three times before agreed upon time, but never called at appointment time.  Got a Windows notice re: phony Windows program on my computer went to site, but no "Secure" locked padlock, so got out & called my PAID tech program - Claimed to be Microsoft, etc, right from the start.  This time wanted to sell me an updated program to replace my not genuine Windows program, $139.99.  Said I'd have to think about it.  I wanted my main computer fixed, 1 of 3 on my paid tech help contract. Tech rep rapidly determined could not fix it, "It is a hardware problem."  When "I" called, could not understand 4 men, in a row, finally got transferred to David Cooper, Sr. Officer, at 855-203-7516, ext 2059 - same guy I had worked with on first contact!  Checking  through my bank to see if I can file any fraud charges, tracing back through electronic route they used to draw the "check" from my account - didn't ask for my next check number - number shown on bank statement is just some unknown string of numbers.  Buyer Beware!

Prank Call
A person claiming to be from Windows Technical Support called on my fathers cell phone to fix reported problems with our computer. He showed where to find the problems by directing me to the Event Viewer (Local)/Custom Views/Administrator Events. He then ask that I try to delete just 1 of the 2,020 errors and warnings that appeared on the list_knowing quite well that I could not. The tech then asked that I put his www.website in a run application for him to be able to fix the problems from his remote location since he had me already try and I could not. When I refused his request and he could not get me to change my mind he then got a slight attitude, gave me his office information and said to call to confirm that he is with the Windows Technical Support team and then to reschedule. He told me his name was John Smith, his direct number is 1 855-203-7516 Ext. 1011_ and all this with a very Heavy Asian Indian Accent.

About the 3rd called I've received in the past couple months on my cell phone  from someone with a strong accent claiming to be from Microsoft and needing to fix my computer because  it was sending out  a virus.  Pure scam.  Played along (again) and finally asked for a callback  number, which I was surprised this alleged Ray Thomas provided (1855-203-7516).  Immediately added the phone number showing up on my cell phone (888) 888-888 (right, only 6 numbers showing on cell phone screen) to the "Block" list.   Told him I would call him back -- not!  Googled the number which led me to this page.  Is there any place to report these scammers that would actually take legal/criminal action against them?

No, you're not a good person. You are scammers who fraudulently claim you are calling for Microsoft and my computer is sending you messages. It is not. Luckily several people already have your number, so we are warning everyone we can to not open up their computers to you. I am hoping very much that you will try this on the wrong person, say someone who works at the DA's office, or someone who actually works for Microsoft"s security/fraud department, and that they will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.

Prank Call
I received a call from this scamming company, the caller's accent so thick I thought he said he was calling from "Michael's Store." Guess Microsoft makes more sense. Same story, so I won't repeat it. Just Take the advice- Do not open your computer to these guys. I have actually already asked them to not call me again, and when I said that this morning he got very rude with me. I asked for his number and that is how I was able to track down this post. Next time he calls back I will let him know that I recognize his scam and have every intention to report him to the authorities. Hopefully he will stop calling.  PS this is not a "Prank Call." It is fraud and someone with the know-how should prosecute them.
