I had a few phone call from this number today that I took some money 10 years ago. Never took a loan. Now they are saying they are a detective agency and try to help me to do not go to court. The lady who called left a phone # to call back: 470 238-2022. I have check the internet for this number and does not look good at all: they are some criminals trying to make money.

It is NOT real.  They are scamming criminals.  Debt is a civil, not criminal matter so you will not be put in jail!  Google the FDCPA and learn your rights when illegal debt collectors come calling.

I have received calls from this number lately but they do not leave a message. My issues started a month or so ago with a totally different number 470-238-2022 and 470-238-2024. They threatened me with felony arrest and bad check writing for a Pay Day Loan in 2007. I do not have any pay day loans so I knew this had to be a scam. I contacted my local police department and they stated this is a scam. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!!! They are not a legitimate company and can not prosecute you for a Pay day loan. Be Careful--They are everywhere and once they don't get you at one number they try with a different one.

I received almost the same thing back in January from a gentleman by the name of Ron Ellis and he said he was to collect on a Loan I had taken out at Ace Check Cashing for $320.00. He had been hired to start Legal Proceedings against me and he was going to contact the Sheriff Dept to have an Warrant Issued against me for Bad Check and the amount now was over $500.00 whick made it a Felony. The suppose Loan I was suppose to have taken out was in April 2010. He had all my information. I was so frigthened I cried and cried and after alwhile he called me back and said he would settle for $250.00 if I would give him my Credit Number. He pulled out $108,00 out of my account, that was all the money IU had. For over a week I cried and was afraid to go out. He then called and said I could make payments on the balance. Everyone told me I was crazy to pay this and I shouldn't have given him my Credit Card Number. My Bank cancelled it. Why do people do this to the elderly, because they know they can scare us into paying and we can't hardly remember what we did 6 months ago-let alone 3 yrs ago. I'm thankful people like all of you have written in to let us know it happened to you and BEWARE of Wolves in SHEEP CLOTHING. Now this Company they called it was CAC Financial Services, and the address is 2625 Piedmont Rd, Atlanta, Ga 30324  His phone number is  470-238-2011  that is supposibly is his Cell Phone. His office is 855-209-7089 ext. 317

I received multiple calls throughout the day from an agent Lauren Materson. I asked for her credentials and she said I am helping you out and you need to pay this loan off or I will press federal charges against you. I tried looking up the company and no credentials found. She was rude and would over talk me, I tried pay it off and she completely gave the wrong info to whoever was collecting and I get blamed that i gave the wrong info. I told her werent you recording the conversation and she would not let me talk and continued to be a bi*** and demanded I thank her for giving me an extension. I asked to speak to her boss and she said no. I called back and asked for the manager and was connected straight to her. She had my personal info wrong at first and address I used to live at. I totally went off on her for not allowing me to talk and explaining. I guess it was a sign from god that this was a scam. She also called from a 4702539605. I feel more and more scams are being used.

A lady named Officer Adams called one of my references about a payday loan. I did not get the direct call. She called my aunt from the number, 470-253-9604. When I got the email, it was from National Asset Recovery Systems, 2625 Piedmont Road, Suite 56-284,  Atlanta, GA. The number given to discuss further questions was 1-855-209-7089. When I called this number, a man named Jeff answered. The email was sent from Z Mengestab.

I love how they refer to themselves as "agents" like they have any power. I would not give them any info as they should already have any needed info to really collect a debt. Once the calls continued I got very nasty with the original caller and Chris and they finally left me alone. They try and use scare tactics to fleece people out of their money. These people are like blood sucking leaches....

Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever contacted a lawyer about this company? I dealt with them last year and had the same problems. I ended up having my phone number changed so they would stop calling me. I am now having a issue with another collection agency on a totally seperate account. But I did contact a lawyer about this one and he said that everything these companies are doing are FDCPA violations. If you save your phone calls and letters from them they can be sued in court. Most attorneys will not charge you a fee to do this because under the law the company that is in violation is required to pay the bill for the attorney. If you can prove that they violated the law they will in turn end up paying you and the case will be dropped. I wish I would of contacted a attorney when I was dealing with these scum that were calling me from this number.

Then she hung up the phone and I got two back to back calls from a completely different number in ga. I get calls from these people from several different numbers at least three times a day.

I just got a call from this number.  Same story.  I am being prosecuted for theft by check fraud.  Some company called ACE express payday loans in Arizona.  I asked her for her information including name, address and name of the company.   I was hung up on.  I called back and demanded info again.  I did this 6 times before someone told me the name was ABC what the hell does that mean?  Sounded fake to me so I ran the number on google and found this site.

I called them back and let them know I am filing a complaint with FTC.  What a joke and total waste of my time.

They are scammers for sure.

This company is in severe violation of the FDCPA and can be sued for their activity if you can find out any information they have called and threatened and harrassed me they will not send validation even when I have asked them to.  They are jerks and I know that they think they can say whatever they want to try and scare you but legally they can't do anything they can't sue they can't garnish and they can't put you in jail

Absolutely not! You are not responsible for her debts.

Save these messages and contact a consumer law attorney. They are way out of line.

Sorry for your loss. I lost an immediate member of my family to cancer this year, too.

Received a threatening phone call regarding an unpaid debt, stated I was committing fraud.  Gave me an incorrect email address that I used and had never heard of.  Stated I was going to jail for a 1000.00 loan from 2003 or 2004 for money I had received and never paid back.  Could not give me any information when I asked her what account was used and the account number.

Good show patty.   That ole gal knew that you planned to send her a validation demand,  or possibly a C&D letter.   Since that cuts off her lips as well as her legal right to collect the debt (without validation)  she certainly didn't want you to have her name or address...Kudos

Yes 'TJ', they are horrible people. These kinds of 'Debt Collectors' are, in reality, nothing more than slimy scam artists. They live with the belief that if a person is naive enough to fall for their con, that person deserves to be conned. They are incredibly shallow people who believe that their failures in life couldn't possibly be their own fault. They perceive themselves as victims and consider scamming innocent people to be their just desserts. They realize that they are at the very bottom of the social pecking order and think that if they can make some money (in any way possible) it will somehow elevate them from where, and what, they really are. Generally poorly educated, they are deluded enough to think that if they have a car and a home they must be succesful businessmen. As they are from the low end of the gene-pool, they tend to associate with people equally handicapped. In their world it's scam or be scammed, so they don't even realize that what they're doing is reprehensible. They are despicable, but should be pitied. Their lives are utterly without meaning. They serve no real purpose and know they never will.

I was told at first they were a mediator for a legal company it took quite a bit of talking for them to tell me they where from NARS I spoke to a very rude Mr Green and even more rude Teddy Winslow they said they would file legal action and charge me with a felony for a payday loan written in 2007 for $362.00 but wanted to charge me $1100.00 when I asked for validation of the debt and an address of the company I was refused I also had a friend call and try to get information she was refused and then they hung up on her I believe they are horrible hateful people

Good for you. The mere fact they blatantly refused to identify the name of their company and give you a legitimate mailing address in which to dispute the debt is reason enough to suspect they are running a scam operation, according to the FTC:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
