Just got a call from 855-791-1191 and I am living in London, England and they called me! I also picked up the phone..no one there and called the last number dial for what it was...sounded suspicious to me so looked it up and here it is another 855 scam dialing!

They most likely are using an auto dialer as I never give out my cell to anyone I don't know. They don't know if it's an active number until someone calls back. Reporting them as my cell is on the DNC list and that also covers text messages.

David must work for them. nobody wants sales pitches on their cell phones.

better a fool than a shill ... but the honest people who hang up on you crooks are neither!

You all are big fools who think that this is a scam.
Probably three weeks ago i called them and listened to all the info they were trying to give patiently (which you dont have) For your information I received my package yesterday and yes I am using the gas voucher and the reason why they are giving this is that along with the gas voucher you would receive a free trial for their discounting service. You can try out the service if you dont like it call up the customer care no. and cancel the trial and all you would be charged is 2.95 however if you dont cancel there would some monthly fees for the service. But regardless of your decision your gas v is yours to use.
Dont you think its a fair business?
They are giving the gift to check out their services.
And guess what you are under no obligation.

Yea I got one of these as well. Pisses me off cause I pay for my phone usage on a daily basis so this message cost me $5. This is a freaking war dialer so it does not matter about where your phone is listed or if your on a DNC list. I'll file a complaint but don't know if it will help

I called too see what to catch was, I spoke to a woman with a very thick accent as well. She said the company is new and they're trying to expose their services so in return they're giving away the 200 gas card and 25 for Walmart. Then she said there is a one time fee of 2.95 or something, so I laughed at her and said how is this free if I'm paying for something! She got an attitude and raised her voice a bit, so I told her I'd callback if interested and she hung up. I work in a call center for one of the biggest insurance companies in the USA it is up to the customer when they want to disconnect the line. We're NEVER allowed to hangup the line, what kind of business would close off their customer like that... this is obviously some SCAM. I hope they're not sending these messages to the younger crowd so they do not fall victim of it! My # is not on FB, and I'm a verizon carrier

Phone # 855-212-1318. Supposedly from Central Rewards out of Phoenix, Az. Anyway, I just got the same text and I called them. I had no idea Phoenix had such a huge non-American population. I called at least 20 times and everyone I spoke to had a thick Indian-like accent. I could barely understand a couple of them. They wanted a valid credit card number, telling me they weren't going to charge anything to it today. When I pushed them for the name of the company, how they got my number, their address, etc., they hung up. I kept calling back and taking up their time, pretending to go along with it. Maybe those few minutes I kept them busy will keep someone else from getting scammed. Obviously, no one has had any luck stopping them in this scam. I entered a couple of online sweepstakes on Southern Living and My Recipes, but said I didn't want to share any of my information with any of their affiliated companies. Anyone else enter a sweepstakes of any sort?

I got the same text message about 5 minutes ago. I was going to reply stop but thank goodness I didn't. I don't know where it's from though, because I never give my number out to people I don't know and it's definitely not on my facebook.
| Tom 2010-12-21 22:14:11 Unknown |
Just recieved the same message $200 in free gas, didn't call back, i figured it would cause a charge to my account

I got the same text morning. Called ATT and the said to set my preferences on their website - http://mymessages.wireless.att.com - to accept text's from specific numbers and block the others. I won't be charged for the scam texts as long as I report them. They are investigating the above number. I guess Facebook and iPhone apps are the culprit.

Got one of those this morning....I don't know for sure, but it might be connected to one of those people locators that wanted my cell number, and in very small print, 9.99 a month for their "service".
I deleted the gas offer rather than sending the STOP reply.

THIS IS A SCAM. This is the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, doggie, fabulous vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, etc. They may send you a fake check, or may want your card info or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. Complain to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

Received this text offer today. I've pretty much been prank calling them for the past hour as subtle revenge.

I got the same text. It came to a cell phone provided by my company so I know for sure this is not a number I have given out except during business conferences. I think our numbers are being sold by someone.

I just got the same text. Maybe we all have something in common? I don't remember giving my number out to anything suspicious, Did anyone buy something from an online retailer that they were unfamiliar with?

I got the same call from these people, called them, and got hung up on 4 times. Finally when they answered I said "dont hang up, give me a manager now" and they finally talked to me. This feels like a complete scam, they told me I must have filled out a survey for them to get my info, I told them they were wrong. All they had was my number and no personal info.

Received a text message from "51297" on 12-17-10 at approximately 1330. Text read as "$200 in FREE Gas to use at leading gas station nationwide Call 855-212-1318 to claim yours today RPLY STOP TO CANCEL. I attempted to look up and found no such number. It feels a bit "scammy" to me. I will not acknowledge by reply. Hopefully they will cross my number off their list and move on...
