Got a call at my job.  Man stated I would have a visit from local officials.  Managed to get an amount and a date that this loan was supposed to have occurred...in 2007! Said his name was Frank Lapiria. He told me I had to make payment by the end of June or further legal action would occur.

yup, me again.  today I got a call at my office again this time from a James Fowler to proceeded to tell the receptionist at my office that I defaulted on a personal bank account and it had something to do with "online" according to my receptionist.  I asked him if he was aware that he said those things to my receptionist and he said we will not do third party disclosure.  Funny, I guess she made it all up herself then.  I told him to remove my office number from his records and asked for the company information.  Here's what I got:

I got a message from a Barbara Judd yesterday, she called using a spoofed local number that is disconnected when called back.  Said I need to contact the "filing party" at 855-363-6711 or she will be stopping by my work today with papers for me to sign.  This morning she called my office and left me the same message.  Then she called my cell phone again, which I answered.  She said she will be by my office in a few hours and to have ID and a supervisor here so that she can give me paperwork to sign.  I told her ok, see you in a few hours.  We'll see, but I highly doubt anyone will be showing up here.

Another Buffalo, NY debt collector using the typical "Buffalo Style: tactics of collecting debts with threats, extortion, contacting third parties and other serial FDCPA violations.

They have no license or bond anywhere we checked.

This has all the appearnces of another typical junk debt scam.

Save your money, you will never be sued or have anything else done they threaten.

This is likely a scam and no one will show up. Legit process servers do *not* call servees up and warn them they are coming!!! Legit servers will simply show up at your door without warning. At some point, the scammers will ask you for money and you can tell them to go to hell.

If someone happens to show up demand ID. An Officer of the Court, process server (depending on jurisdiction) or Sheriff etc. will have a legal right to be there. Anyone else, take a hike. That is the way I look at it.

Update... No "courier", nothing to sign. Will be getting a case number form the Attorney General.

Question, did these people once say how much you owed? Not me. Keep this thread going. Under the FDCPA, you can sue them for up to $1,000.

I sent a cease and desist to that same address! Also changed my cell number! guess what I havent heard from those SOB's in weeks!! FRAUDS!!

Received a call from a Brooke Owens this morning at my employment telling me how she had information that she needed me to sign off  on and that she would be coming by my residence next week and that I would need to be available with valid identification and a witness. The she said she would be stopping by my workplace for my signature if I wasn't at home and that I would need to have my Supervisor available as a witness.  I could stop this from proceeding if I called back the party initializing the case at 1-855-212-9413 and then gave me a case/reference #.  It was quite apparent that she was calling from a call center because I could hear alot of people in the background.  She then immediately called my cellphone and left the same message.
It just makes me angry that if she's getting paid by a debt collector the tactic they use to harass people in this manner.

It is Friday, June 17th and am waiting to be served. From reading the posts, I doubt it. I'm looking at the court docket in my State, nothing has been filed against me. I contacted these clowns and this is the mailing address they gave me.

http://www.ic3.gov this is the FBI complaint site.....just google your state attorney general and it will give u a web site.... http://www.ftc.gov  (Federal Trade Commission) I spoke with them personally and they were wonderful and full of information!! Here are a few articles to educate yourself with as well....you have so many consumer rights and harrasment is not one of them! Noone has gone to jail for oweing a debt since the Civil War it is against the law to threaten anything like that!

File complaints with the FTC, your state attorney general and the FBI. This is happening to alot of people. They are scammers, just ignore the calls. Also send a cease and desist letter to them if u know the address.

We have been getting calls also, called from a blocked # and now a local # saying they are coing out to my job today and then my home if I am not there, they will not tell me what I am being sued for or who is sueing me!! Whata bucnch of BS.

I got the same call today advising me that I should make myself available between 3 and 5 and he will meet me at my place of employment. When Iooked up my county website- there is no mentioned of me being sued

I have no debt, but calls from private # say they will deliver papers to my job for me to sign and they say litigating in progress.They are making numerous harassing phone calls!   Who the  hell would tell someone they are a private server???  Who the hell would warn someone a head of time that they are serving them papers???  

If it's real, pay a process server, put a certified letter in the mail.  Make it legit!

NO!!! I had an attorney look them up as well as the original place who holds my debt. They are frauds! there numbers even lead back to cell phones that are disconnected to make it look like they are in your area to "serve" you. File a complaint with the FTC the state attorney general as well as the FBI. this is something that is being closely watched. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!!!

Same calls as stated. Claims today I will be served by 6-17-2011. Also claims criminal charges. I Already contacted the Attorney General. I will update.

I received a call from this company. I called them back and A Mr Mark Grey is the man who called me. The person who answered the call states they are a legal company that sues people for Attorney Steven Derosa. He could not tell me any companies they sue for. they have been calling from a blocked number. Harrassing me on my job and cell phone. From the postings it seems as if it is bogus!

I just got a call that showed up on my caller id as anonymous and I did not answer. A man left a voicemail stating for me to be available today between 1 and 5. He also stated he was gonna try going by my work first. Kind of funny that I have been unemployed for the last 2 years and to this point. He also gave me a document #. Who is this person and who does he work for?

I just got a call from this # today and said they have some documents that they need to send me that needs my signature...they didnt say from what company they are.
