I got a voice message at my work phone from a guy named Darnel Kennedy, identifying himself as an Essex County Court clerk (New Jersey). He gave this number to call (1-855-218-6893). The message was for someone else, I don't know how it reached me. Anyway, I called to let them know they have the wrong person and found it strange that when they pick up the phone, they don't say the name of the company.

I have been receiving phone calls from the Harrison & Harvey company claiming I have a payday loan out that I need to pay and they are demanding 355.00 from me or they will release a summons and take me to court.  First of all, I am remarried so they have a different last name for me....but the kicker is they have an old address for me from 6 years ago.  They have my social security number which is alarming.  The first called me in December and I refused to pay it so they said it would be garnished out of my income tax return.  Never happened!!  Then they told me I would be hauled into court for not paying the so-called debt and would be responsible for the court fees and such.  Never happened!!  So they are now bugging me again (april 2014) with the same threats.  She "emailed" me a letter from her company saying I owe this debt.  The so-called "client" they are representing is not listed.  I told her I wanted a copy of the signed contract that shows my signature and she says they do not have it.  Im gonna call their bluff.  If they haul me to court then fine, Ill pay this so called debt.  Ive been dealing with this lady named Gail...and now the email reads Becky Shaw.  This is so annoying.

I received a call from 855-229-5839. A lady named Gina Ross with Harrison & Harvey, left a voicemail in regards to a legal statement from me in regards to a violation of Federal Bank Fraud Allegations. If I do not call her back there will be a release of a Summons without statement on my behalf. Hmmm. Sounds like a scam tactic to me.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

My father and best friend received a call this morning from an unknown number this morning claiming to be from barron county trying to get ahold of me so I could be served. They left the number 855-218-6893 so I called them back. Apparently I have a pay day loan, which I had all ready paid off in full, back in 2013 that they were trying to collect on told me I could pay a portion of that and so on and so forth, they tried feeding me a line off bull saying that that letter I have would do no good in the court of law and everything else, so I told them that I wanted to court number and ID and in Wisconsin they have a wonderful site called C-Cap which allows you to see everything as far as court dates and stuff you are scheduled to appear at even before you are served. So I looked, and nothing. This number is nothing but a scare tactic and sad thing is if anyone has ever taken out a payday loan with Pay Day One, there server was hacked a long time ago and now everyone and anyone has your personal information. Minus one fact the last name they were using I haven't used in over three years. So they can try all they want to. I did not give them my phone number and also told them if they were to call anyone of my friends or family members again I would personally sue them

Person named Courtney called my dad wanting to "find" me to send me  a summons to court. I called back the number left and reached a "Courtney" who transferred me to "Stacey". She informed me that I owed money for a payday loan from 6 years ago on a bank that I never had an account with. Tried to get me to settle out of court in order to avoid being taken to court. Oh yeah, she also identified herself as a processor for the county in which I live in. I googled the number as well as this company and its a total scam. Company is called Harrison & Harvey. The "case number" they provided me isnt even a court case number. When I told "Stacey" that I was aware that this was a scam, she immediately became belligerant and hung up on me.

Similar thing happened to me today. I would not answer the call because it was blocked. "Richard Campbell" left a voice mail message claiming that claimant Harrison & Harvey has a claim against me and that he is a process server and will serve me with summons today unless I call and resolve the matter before close of business today. This is a total scam. I have first hand knowledge that process servers NEVER call a debtor first to resolve a claim----their sole job is to simply serve process. Also, I have no outstanding debts or claims against me, so this is total fraud. My advice is to ignore these types of scam calls. I saw another post indicating that you can make a claim to the FTC against these scammers. I am going to look into doing that.

Received a phone call from this number in December claiming they  were calling from Chek Systems with regard to a debt I owed from 4 years ago,  They already had my ss#, my address, and my cell phone number.  I kept asking them what company is this?  They wouldn't tell me.  I asked for their call back number and they gave me another number:  469-206-9605 x 116.  I called it and the voice recording said "Harrison & Harvey" Mediation Group.  THEN I get a phone call yesterday (1/24/14) from this "855" number from Richard Campbell.  I accidentally came across this website and was enraged when I saw these telephone numbers being reported as a scam because that was my gut feeling all along.  Whats even scarier is that they had all my personal information already.  Just want to warn anyone out there DON'T GIVE ANYONE ANY  PERSONAL INFO EVER OVER THE PHONE.  IF THEY DON'T WANT TO SHOW WRITTEN PROOF THEY ARE LEGIT JUST HANG UP.  FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FTC.  There are (3) telephone numbers that I gotten messages from.  Here they are:

855-218-6893 x 115 - Richard Cambpell
855-218-6 893 x 116 - Daniel Brown
469-206-9605 x116 - Daniel Brown
