this is not what they make it seem you don't win 100 gift card like they say you pay4.95 for a cash rebate mall certificate for 100 buck then you have to buy stuff to earn the 100 it is a scam because by the time you get your stuff and figure out it was a lie they have  already taken your monthly fee for savingspectacular 30 bucks out of you account and that is a joke also everything I seen on there you can get for free like the coupons online why cant people just be honest and sell what your selling

Update: I called my bank and told them what happened and they transferred me to the Fraud Department for Visa.  The Rep told me they have been getting a lot of Fraudulent text generated scams like this one and he is going to remove the charges from my account and send me a new Visa Card.  So do not respond to any texts about you won a gift card these are definitely scams and fraud to bilk you of your money and maybe even sell your credit card numbers.

Don't respond to this text.  I did and this is what happened.  I responded on 6/30/12 and spoke with 3 different reps. The first 2 hung up on me when I started asking too many questions.  The third a Mike Cortez was more cordial in answering my questions since I was concerned about identity theft.  I had filled out some product and customer satisfaction surveys about online purchases so I unfortunately accepted his presentation.   he told me that I would be billed $3.95 for the shipping and handling of the $100 gift card that could be used at Walmart, Target, Ace Hardware, Home Depot etc. and I also would be receiving a trial membership for this savings spectacular club, which I could cancel within one month and not be charged the $19.95 monthly fee for.  I specifically asked him if I cancelled the membership prior to the end of the month would the gift card still be mine to use and he was very emphatic about confirming that yes, the gift card is mine to use whether I cancel even after the first day of the trial.  So, I agreed and gave him my credit card info and he had me hold for conformation with a supervisor of all the info. I also asked how this was going to arrive since I was paying $3.95 shipping and handling and it doesn't cost that much to send a gift card in the mail.  I asked would it be sent in the regular Mail or being delivered to my home by a person.  He said it would come to my house by a delivery service person.  Today is 7/18/12 and nothing has been sent to me.  I called the number again that was in the text.  I got another foreign sounding lady named Summer and she said she would express my concerns to customer service.  I said no you won't I want you to transfer me to them now.  She replied that she couldn't and gave me their number 800-466-6630.  I called and spoke with Paulette who had a Hispanic accent.  I told her that I had not received anything and wanted to know if they were going to wait until my 30 day trial was up so that they could bill me the $19.95 before I could call to cancel?  She then informed me that I wasn't to get the gift card until I responded to the Savings Spectacular brochure that was sent to me on 7/7/12.  I told her that I never got it or anything else from them yet.  She also said that I would not be able to use the gift card until after I had been with Savings Spectacular for 1 month past the trial period.  "So Mike Cortez flat out lied to me", I told her.   I told her that I had specifically asked him about that as I stated above and he swore that I could use it even if I cancelled prior to the end of the trial.  I told her that he lied to me just to make the sale.  I never would have done this if I had known that.  I told her, "Now I don't believe any of you people."  She said that she would have a supervisor to call me within 24 hours to confirm that the $3.95 would be repaid to my Visa acct. and that the money would be back in my acct. within 3 to 5 days.  I said it better or I'm calling my bank and the BBB.  We ended the call and within 5 min. my phone rang and my caller ID said it was a call from Paulette Rezel  @ 612-564-6974.  When I answered it was the rep. and she said she called me back to inform me that she just saw that they had billed my Visa for $19.95 today but that she had included that with the $3.95 to be removed from my acct. when the supervisor would call me.  Now I was livid.  They hadn't sent me anything by mail or delivery since the 6/30/12 phone call and billed me for the first month of membership before the trial period was even over - the nerve!!  I told her now I can't believe anything you say on the phone. What's to stop you from lying to me like the salesman did?  I want a conformation email sent to me right now by you while I wait on the phone so that I have some proof other than just your word that some supervisor will call me in 24 hours to confirm all of this.  She said she was unable to do that.  I wanted to know why not - you have my email - you even confirmed it with me at the beginning of the call.  Then she said just a minute.  She came back and said the amount will be off of your Visa in 3 to 5 days and no supervisor needs to call you.  I said it better - I'm calling my back about all of this now, I have your personal phone number and full name on my caller ID you know.  Once I got off of the phone I used reverse number look up and found out that the personal number she had called me from was a landline located in Anoka MN in Ramsey Co. but I couldn't confirm anything about her being the owner of the number without paying for that info.  Now I am about to call my Bank and tell their Visa Account services about this whole mess.  So - whatever you do don't buy into this scam!!

I recieved the same message as the first. i was excited but immediatly skeptical. i called the number... same thing send them 3.95 and i would get a 500 dollar gift card to any of there affiliates along with cupons and cretificates to other companies.as i started asking more and more questions the shorter and more repetative the anwswers became. I started to get pissed and contacted the BBB in new jersey. she immediatley told me it was a scam. Luckly i had gotten a little curious or i would have been taken advantage of as well. I think everyone shold send them hate mail. its the least we could do since no government agency wants to do anything about it.

Yep, just recvd a text to call the 877-366-1421 number back to "win" my $100 GC to walmart or target...well, now thats the first eyebrow raiser....Is Walmart and Target affliated?? Then, he told me about the "shipping" charges....i asked how i won, and yes, it was due to a "survey" i had taken..which i take surveys for blockbuster....when i told him, he could send me the gift card, with the shipping charges on it, and it can't be activated til i pay the charges, he got extremely confused on this! Or they could just take the shipping off the $100 bucks right?  ANYTHING THAT IS "FREE" Or WE WON, WILL NOT CHARGE SHIPPING!! If 1000 pple gave them 3.95 for shipping...hmmm do the math!! Or even 100 pple! AN WHY ARE they always INDIAN?? Or at least with accents so strong we can't understand them?? SCAM SCAM SCAM!! DO NOT SEND THEM A DIME!!
BTW, he told me to have a nice day when i told him to send the card with shipping decudected from it!!

I received a call and fell for this scam. They charged me "shipping" charges of $3.95 twice, so the total they got away with was $7.90. Thankfully nothing else has happened, but I've been keeping a very close watch on my bank account.

During each of my 5 calls to 1-800-466-6630, I spoke with, in order, Anthony, Abby, Paul, Jenny, and then Paul again. They were all very nice and each informed me that a refund should appear in the next few days. That was back in November. I asked for a mailing address and couldn't get one, but I did get an email address from their website, "info@savingspectacular.com".

Because I'm a member of LegalShield, I called my provider law firm and asked what I could do. They told me there wasn't much, but they wrote an email to the email address above and made a phone call to the 1-800 number above. The lawyer told me that when he called the company, they said they had never spoken with me before and said that they had shipped my "coupon package" back in November of 2011 to an address I never gave them.

Thankfully I'm only out $7.90, but as a newly married college student, that means grocery money! Don't fall for this!

I got a text message from Spectacular Savings from a different phone number (so they have either changed the number or they have more than one line number)  The number they texted me from was 877/839-1659.  I called them back from a different phone and got a foreign female who gave me the old song and dance after I asked the circumstances behind this wonderful win that I had filled out an online survey (which I have filled out a couple, but I don't think they had anything to do with this - they had to do with my job).  I did give them my cell phone number (which is what they texted to, although I only got texting capabilities in the last month and haven't done any online surveys since that time) and I gave them my name.  When she told me I would have to pay shipping charges of $4.95, I told her "no thank you" and hung up the phone.  What they will or can do with it from there I don't know.  I didn't give her any of my financial information or my address or anything.  I just wanted to let everyone know that they are using multiple phone numbers to facilitate what I believe is a scam.

This is NOT a scam. However, be vigilant about the information they give you about programs their company, Savings Spectacular, has 'taken the liberty' to enroll you in.  You must cancel any memberships before their respective trial-period ending dates.  Otherwise, you will be billed various monthly fees of amounts like $15 or $19.99 which I doubt anyone wants.  You may say that this is a scam in itself, but I do not believe this fully qualifies as that.  Though it may be sneaky, this company is delivering what they promise and slipping in a few extras seldom explained due to the future 'POTENTIAL' fees determined by whether or not you cancel with all the bogus services.  They are hoping you don't pay attention, so they can collect their payment for promoting and recruiting clients with these 3rd party companies' services.

It is ABSOLUTELY a scam!  Do NOT give them your name, or more importantly, your credit card number or phone number!  If you call them back and they can confirm your number is real, but you don't "bite" on their scam, they'll sell your number to someone else to try a different scam, so call with your number blocked or don't call at all.  All the better for them if you also provided a name to go with the number.

I got the same text.  Called it back some lady said I had won $100 for either Walmart or Target.  All I had to do was pay $4.95 for shipping and handling.  She said it was backed by some consumer company (really strong accent) and the number will always work.  She also said that I could track the transaction at any time.  Claims it's not a scam but I did not give her my info.  Hope it's not a scam though, could def use $100 at walmart.

Only problem is, I don't know of any surveys or contests I've entered for a $100 certificate to anything. I called the number the message was from, and it went straight to voicemail. I don't leave messages for those generic "You have reached [number]" machines because you never know who's on the other end.
