have been called several times saying my brother is in trouble and needs to call 855-223-8221 so they  can help him with some kind of "charges" and I should help him by getting him to call before it's too late to help with the case against him. My plan is to continue answering the bs investigator calls after telling them not to call recording them and taking them to small claims court for harassment and mental anguish ...

So I received a blocked call and it was a gentleman stating this was my last chance to call the law firm handling my case at the number 855-223-8221 but never gave the name of the law firm. He also gave me a case number saying that if I didn't handle this debt it would be handled for me. Also claimed he had located a "good" address for me and that the claim paperwork would be brought to me if need be.....The same gentleman also some how got my ex father in laws number and called him looking for me. Not a house number his personal cell number which I have never used for anything. So I did just like everyone else, plugged the number in here and started reading all this scam information about the number and how they operate. Its sad that we have no privacy anymore with our own phone numbers but can so easily be sold off to these scam agency's. Oh well I do not answer blocked numbers and if it is important enough they will leave a message.

This number called my son and daughter-in-law both this morning! He stated he needed my address to to deliver a package because I was being charged with fraud along with child/spousal support. Red flag i've never been divorced and have never had to pay child support, so of course they both refused to give any info. I called the number only to be harrassed and yelled at!!! They wouldnt give me the name of the company only that it was "Consolidated" I asked if they were a collection company and he said no! He said I owed on a credit card and I needed to pay $1056 right now in order to stop the charges and them showing up at my house!! I told him I wasn't paying them anything and to leave me alone. Within an hour I rcv'd 7 calls from the same number I finally answered the last one and it was another guy demanding my address. I told him not to call again and that I was calling my attorney & Police. He hung up on me. I filed report with the Attorney General and police dept.

This number called my ex's wife telling her I was being served. Come to find out this is an extortion. I called my cc company they claim they represented and found out they do NOT and was given the ligament company who has my account. After speaking with my father who is a police officer he said you will never get a "warning" call from a server because they do not give a heads up, least you run or make sure you arent there when they show. Secondly if you really had a court hearing for "fraud" they would not send a server to your house, you would have a warrant and a police officer would show. He suggested calling the local police to file a report and also asking who else to call (ie fbi etc). In the end they just want your CC# or bank account # and then will wipe you out.

guess what? so this I received a call from a local number claiming to be a "private investigator" that HAD to deliver a package by today. He asked for me by name and knew my address.

Same thing here. Called them back and they wouldn't pick up.

These guys called 2 of my sisters n not me... I called back and left a msg with my number. Did I do the right thing?? Or is this a scam??

I just received this call too wherein they advised that charges were filed today against my husband and that this was his only notice. I called them immediately and told them that I googled their company and found that it was a scam and told them to take my number off of their list and they said, " Ok we will, thank you ".

You would be right on that! There's a lot of fraud & extortion going on with so called phony law firms or in some case legitimate but operating on the shady side buying up old debts and bankruptcy's and exceeding the statues of limitations. Generally a process server does not call you in advance to warn you! The call back is to lure you in and hopefully you will give them a CC or they ask you to go get a green dot card. Some have eve been told to not call anyone when calling their attorney has been mentioned.  

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general,FTC & FCC..

Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf requires 3rd-party debt collectors to give debtors written notice of debt (the key word is *shall*) :
"§ 809. Validation of debts
(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing?
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;
(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and
(5) a statement that, upon the consumer?s written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor."

Gotta a call from them too. Said I was bein g served and to call back.  In order to be served u have to show photo id and be handed papers right?  Debt collectors maybe?

These guys are some kind of investigative company, a pack of liars. Three different calls with three different lies to three different family members.

They called and said that my mother was in legal trouble and being served.

Called my family across the country saying I was to be served with a subpoena--googled 855-223-8221 and found this.

Called and stated there was a package to pick up and that my husband had to be in court with this package today.  They called at 11 a.m. and did not state what court or anything.  Simply that they were Consolidated. I called the Sheriff's office and the courthouse and they stated there is no claim # or case with my husband's name attached.
