UGH pardon the bad grammar. A little distracted at the moment.
IS 2014-02-14 19:19:12 Unknown
I should stay my call directly, I mean I called CIBC and not the 855 number.
IS 2014-02-14 19:18:20 Unknown
The number is CIBC. I called directly and asked them to confirm it. It will simply assigned to whatever department is trying to reach you.
Everleigh 2014-02-08 22:47:39 Unknown
I think this number is a part of CIBC's collection department.
Michelle 2014-02-07 16:43:30 Unknown
Received this call this morning for my mom, it was an automatic message with her full name. When it said to press "2" to go on hold to get her, it kept going back to the same message. Mom phoned CIBC after and she said it must of been a promotion call since she has no outstanding loans, debts etc. You would think she would of said it was a scam on the phone but said no, still unsure.

has called 3 times today and I haven't answered. Very annoying if they can't leave a message. Will be calling my branch

they've called times and dead air. annoying to be sure. I just called back and it did say "CIBC" then it put me on hold. I hung up on them. :P
Called Back 2014-01-23 17:06:38 Unknown
Got a call from this number and called them back. It's a legit CIBC number but they couldnt give me any info as they wanted to speak with my wife. She in turn called them back and they just wanted to confirm a recent credit card purchase she made and that it was in fact her that made the purchase.
Laura 2014-01-10 03:53:20 Unknown
This is *NOT* CIBC. Be careful.
Lucy 2014-01-06 22:22:30 Unknown
I have no overdraft nor business with CIBC, and never have.
Clearly some of the above poster(s) are shills for the scammers, trying to fool people.
Never give or confirm your info to an unknown caller, period.
If you think it might be your bank, call them directly through a number you know to be valid.
Deanna 2014-01-04 00:05:40 Unknown
They call me multiple times a day. I have no loans with them or any outstanding payments. No one is there when I pick up and majority of the time it rings only once and then they hang up. Very annoying.
Private 2013-12-28 00:03:06 Unknown
This number has started to call me but never leaves a message or if they do it has been the sound of them hanging up or the last popping noises so if it any kind of a legit company these calls are being represented I feel sorry for the owner as it is totally child like these phone call are being viewed as not professional but as a prank phone calls. The caller id >>> toll free & unknown caller.

notice you day "published" numbers.
Collections do not need to publish their number. the 855 one is not a call back number.
CIBC Visa and personal accounts use a number that does say CIBC on call display.
IF YOU HAVE AN OVERDRAFT ACCOUNT AND DO NOT BRING IT TO A POSITIVE AMOUNT FOR 2 days IN A THREE MONTH PERIOD, EXPECT THIS NUMBER TO CALL YOU AND ARRANGE THAT YOU DO SO TO AVOID DAMAGING YOUR CREDIT RATING, or worse, RECALLING THE OVERDRAFT AND REQUIRING IMMEDIATE PAYMENT IN FULL.
Thats it
DM 2013-12-09 16:57:26 Unknown
All of CIBC's published toll-free numbers are 800 or 888. They have no 855 number listed.

perfectly answered by you, we both have had the same experience with them and this number obviously. They are very accommodating and easy to work with.
thank you for the correct posting of the numbers information

People, answer the phone call, it is a collections department.
save your credit rating, the more you ignore, the less recourse you have.
Stop posting "It's scam fraud, etc" someone in your household owes money or let them know they have wrong number
Don't waste my time reading through pissed off replies. I come here to find legit info, not speculation.
get a grip 2013-12-06 17:50:23 Unknown
This is CIBC COLLLECTIONS number.
Like was said before, if you have an overdraft that has Not been brought into the positive, it is there right to phone and request that you do so.
Sick of this website comments, YOU may not owe them, but someone in your household does, so deal with it and stop posting crap!

It is not CIBC I have had CIBC phone before and it does show up on the caller ID as CIBC and they leave a message. I don't pick up this number but they phone 3 times a week.
B 2013-11-21 20:49:08 Debt Collector
It is CIBC, a very nice call advising me that my over draft account needs to be in a plus balance for at least 24 hours every 3 months or 90 days which it was not. If you get a call and miss it call them back as they are making a courtesy call to save your credit rating. I paid up immediately and received a second call in error. That's OK since I did not answer the first time, called back which did not clear the system. All good!!

Telephone company won't be able to do anything. The set of numbers may be associated with the telco company but the origin is unknown. They are basically 'virtually' using these set of numbers and as such cannot be traced.
Specky 2013-10-29 23:35:38 Unknown
received from this call 3 times
always dead air when answered
Just wondering whether we can report to the telephone Company and ask them to chase up who is the registered caller - very annoying
Rza 2013-10-23 13:40:14 Unknown
This isn't CIBC, I confirmed with them. It's a scam, whatever you do, don't give them any information and as a matter of fact, don't even answer. Call CIBC, tell them you got a phone call from this number and ask them if you have any outstanding debts if you really want to be sure. This number called me, said a bogus number claiming it was my account number, however, they did get my name correct. I then listened in on what the automated message had to say and it told me I owed $1500 (which I don't). I then hung up and called CIBC and reported the number. I recommend you do the same.
Lynn 2013-10-17 03:28:51 Unknown
3-4 times per day for the past week is beyond ridiculous! If this is the CIBC calling, then it is time they started to be open about what they are doing. Since no name appears on my telephone screen when the call comes in showing that number, then their intention is deceptive right from the start. No one should answer when a call comes in from that number. The CIBC needs to learn quickly to treat consumers better, or they will start losing a lot of customers.
cindy dandewich 2013-10-16 18:11:43 Unknown
This number calls MANY times a day. When you do answer it there is dead air. I work from home and find this SO annoying!!!!
jh 2013-10-08 14:51:19 Unknown
I was getting 3 calls/week. I would answer, but no one on the other end. I called cibc, told them to stop calling. The calls continued, i called them back, threatened to take them to court, and the calls finally stopped.
Imho, they are farming contact info and contact times to sell to 3rd parties.

Phoned 4 times during the day today. Daughter answered phone most recent time. They asked for me by name however with the wrong middle name. Claiming to be from CIBC. Gave option to put phone on hold while the person they were phoning for was summonded to the phone. My daughter hung up at that.
