It is Visa Fraud Prevention and this call is actually legitimate. I work in IT and my specialty is in IT security. I have had numerous clients ask about this number. After some research, I have learned that it is used exclusively by small local banks to confirm unusual charges on Visa debit cards. However, don't trust anything I say (after all, I'm just a random person online). Instead, if you receive a call from this number you can do one of the following things to ensure you never share anything sensitive:

1. Contact your bank and confirm they are legitimate. This option is ideal but what if your bank is closed and your card isn't working at a time when you desperately need to use it? You can do option 2, which is:

2. Return the call and immediately press 0. Once an operator picks up, explain that are you suspicious about their identity. Tell them that you don't want to provide any sensitive information which includes CC#'s, social security numbers, or birth-dates. The operator will explain that they can confirm your identity by simply requesting you to complete a couple questions which ask for very basic and public information about you. For example, they will ask "I see your house address is 321, what street do you live on?" After you answer two of these questions successfully they will then explain the reason for the call (e.g. There is a $400 charge from Amazon, did you place this charge?). You will just have to say "yes" or "no". No sensitive information will ever need to be shared during the call. By handling this call in this manner, you never share anything that isn't already publicly available (after all, anyone can find your address using your phone number and it's of little use to an identity thief).

Fun fact: This call is automated. Sometimes you will receive it just seconds after placing an unusual order online.

Called to verify charges to an account while I was traveling. If you wait for an operator, you  need to verify name, phone, and address.

I received a call from 855-232-0672 it was an automated call saying that my moms bank card may have been compromised, so I called her to tell her and she called it back.  When she called it asked for a case # and I said they didn't give me a case #.  So they said she could put her card # in and they could go from there, of course she said no.  I think that this # is part of some phishing scheme.  So do not give any personal info to them.
