I received this same call, with the same message about a mandatory update to my credit card machine which by the way does not exist, on my merchant account, which also by the way does not exist, In this case, the call came from 855-496-3278, so they must have multiple numbers from which they attempt to scam people. I certainly cannot understand why people agree to work these types of jobs, knowing they are scamming people with every phone call. it's simply preposterous.

I got this call on a Sunday morning.  Call for "Linda" from "Merchant Services" and something about our credit card machine.  No Linda here and we don't have a credit card machine.  I did not return the call.

We too, received a call from this outfit to call 855-235-4678. I've alerted my staff not to perform any changes to our POS without me being present.

Left several messages that there was a mandatory software update to our credit card machine, only problem is we do not have a credit card machine.

Called left a voicemail yesterday afternoon with an urgent message in regards to our Merchant service. I know this isn't our merchant service provider. 1) Ours merchant service provider is closed Sundays 2) we have a tight relationship with our rep 3)These folks never leave what company they are calling from. Fishing for new customers or unsuspecting business owners for a scam.

Called just moments ago, and when I answered with "this is (xxx)", they hung up.  Gee, darn, I wanted to be able to hang up on THEM!

Same message as below, also on a Sunday.  Called my processor, no mandatory or otherwise update was necessary. Did not call them back

Called my business and left a message on a Sunday evening and used my 1st name in the message. This is a scam or what my processor referred to as slamming. They try to trick you into switching your service to them by implying that they are your current processor. I have been in business long enough to recognize this type of thing and a couple of red flags went up as soon as I listened to the message. 1. they left a message late on a Sunday when it wasn't likely there would be anyone here. 2. did not leave the name of the company which my processor would have, just said it was about my merchant processing. 3. said it was concerning a mandatory update to my terminal, with mine as I am sure most processing companies these updates are done automatically so a call would not be necessary.  I called my processing company with the phone number that I use for customer service and verified my suspicions.

I received a message that my merchant services account.  They stated that there is a mandatory update that needs to take place for my credit card machine and asked that I call back.  The only problem here is that we do not have a credit card machine or any such merchant account.  This is absolutely fraud..

Called me Sunday after church. Who does that? Would I EVER buy something or engage a service from someone who calls a personal cell phone on a Sunday? NEVER. And you shouldn't deal with anyone ever who tries to sell something over the phone anyway!

Thank you for sites like this. Received a voice mail regarding our "mandatory update". Sounded phony because it didn't come from our actual processor, caller did not leave a name, did not have specific information. Always check this and other sites for questionable calls!

I got a voicemail from them saying my terminal needed to have a mandatory upgrade.  I'm with Heartland, not these losers, so I knew it was fake.  Plus, all my terminal updates are automatic.  This call came after months of stupid, misleading junkmail from these scumbags.  DO NOT give them any info or anything.  Just swear at them until everyone working the phones at this scam place quits and they have no more calling staff.

They call on Sunday so that you don't have any chance of verifying with your bank or processor. They will try to convert you to their system based on the fear that it must be done asap. Hold tight, you should never have to supply any information that your processor already has.

Got call on Sunday don't haeve a merchant machine

Received three calls from this number today, Sunday.

They called twice on Sunday (yesterday) and said it was a message for Shane, who is our director.  However, I am the contact for Merchant Services not him.  His name is listed on our County internet page as our director so I am sure that is how they got his name.  I will not call them back.

Ditto - voice mail for unrecognized numbers is the way to go...

Robo calling credit card merchant trying to scare people with false information. Credit card merchants are one of the lowest scum of the earth to do business with.

Call from this number came on Sunday afternoon, no message left. The number of spam calls to my business cell phone is constantly increasing, very frustrating.

Our business received the same call on a Sunday afternoon left on our voicemail about a mandatory update to our credit card machine.

Same with me, called both of my businesses on a SUNDAY left the same message. I knew it was a scam............... I feel bad for those they took it seriously and got ripped off. I hate these type of people.

Called on a Sunday to report a mandatory Update to Credit Card Machine.  No company name given.

Called at 11pm!  Called me Bill, no one calls me that.  Left MSSG stating they had to update my card info.
